Okay, here's my question: Why do people with bad breath constantly yawn?
I was sitting on the bus, happy that my day was finally over, when this guy gets on and sits in the seat in front of me. Let me tell you -- his breath was kickin' like karate! You know you have some bad breath when you are sitting in front of someone and it reaches back and slaps the person BEHIND YOU in the face! It was all I could do to not pass out from holding my breath. I was so sick of his ass yawning! I was praying that he would finally just go to sleep! The man was seriously launching a no-holds-barred assault on my olfactories! (can olfactory be plural?) LOL!
As a distraction, my mind automatically went into its analytical, scientific mode. I kept trying to figure out what chemical reactions going on in his body could possibly produce a smell like rotting garbage. I came up with the conclusion that the bacteria in his mouth had overgrown so much that it, too was breaking down the remaining food particles in his mouth. This decomposition resulted in the release of smelly gases like hydrogen sulfide and nitrogen. Thinking about this provided little distraction, so I spent the rest of the ride home breathing into my jacket.
People, please take care of your oral hygiene! Hygiene isn't just about you, its about the people around you!
