Jacket @ MindSay

what what
I got nothing, because I sat down and watched TV and now my brain is officially off duty.  This happens whenever I watch or listen to sports, or talk radio, I just kind of zone out.  This is probably a sign that I should do less of these activities.  Put that on the "to do" list.  I should go lay down, sleep would definitely be welcome at this time.  I think I'm ready for the warm to just be here.  It is nice to get moving around in the sun and get the sweat going.  So yeah, I'm looking forward to that.  This may or may not also be because I don't have a jacket that I really like at this point in time, which makes windy, coldish days a tad unbearable.  I was just listening to Phil Collins advice though; No Jacket Required.

A Sad Observation

I just got back from the grocery store a few minutes ago. I am happy to report that it was actually cool outside. I couldn't believe it! The temperature is currently 59 degrees in the fair city of Victoria.

It is so nice to have a break from the heat. However, I found out that not everyone feels this way. As I was doing my grocery shopping I noticed some crazy ass woman wearing a jacket. You know you live in south Texas when you see jackets the first time the temperature drops below 60 degrees.

Everyone complains about the heat, but then they throw on a jacket the first time a cool breeze blows through town. Jeez!

Be Still My Heart
This morning as my daughter walked outside to the car where my sister was waiting to take her to school, she called out to me and said, "Mom, can I get my jacket!"  What? A JACKET???? Could it be that fall is trying to make an appearance? This morning it was a cool 68 degrees, which for us Southerners who've been to exposed to 90+ degree weather since April, is kinda nippy. 68 to us is about what 54 degrees is to you Yankees out there -- not cold, but pleasantly cool.

(no subject)
Work today was just a royal pain in the ass. We were crazy busy and on top of that there was this visiting chef making this fancy expensive dinner and taking over our space.
It wasn't all bad, though, I mean most of the people I worked with today I get along with. Oh yeah and there's this new girl, Josephine, who is smoking hot so that made the day alot more enjoyable. So that makes two hot girls that I work with ;).
I spent like almost the entire five hours dishing up condiments and stuff for tomorrow's buffets. There was a three and a half page list of condiments.
Anyway, last night in welding I set my welding jacket on fire by mistake. I'm fine, luckily I had a thick long sleave shirt on underneith, my arm wasn't even burnt. I don't care, really, because the weld I was working on at the time turned out really good.
I'm going to give my Uncle Ray a call and see if he has an old welding jacket around the house I could use for the last couple weeks of class. My jacket is still useable but it now has a big (about two or three inches) hole in the left arm. If I have to I can always use the ones the school provides, but they are in just as bad shape as my jacket.
Oh, and I've decided I'm going to get my next welding course out of the way this summer. It is going to be a shorter semester but I'm sure I'll be able to do it just fine. My main reason for this is that the summer courses are anout three quarters the cost of a normal semester, and I also want to get all this done as quickly as possible.  The course will be a MIG welding course. MIG is wire-fed Arc wellding. I' don't remember what the term MIG actually stands for but I will.  Summer registration starts next week.

Thanks,
Mark
