[Blog #92] --- Alone --- [Sunday] - UP YOURS, SHITTY GLITCH!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dixie currently feels:

Smiley Alone

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Blog #92

UP YOURS, SHITTY GLITCH!

It's Sunday - cue depression.

It's Easter Sunday - cue chocolate eggs.

It's the Sunday after nana betrayed me - cue hostility.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As you know, I did NOT want to go to nana's at all today.

I do feel it was unfair on my grandad though - he doesn't know, and he hasn't done anything to hurt me before.

Sure, he can annoy me a lot sometimes, but I do greatly regret the time I stabbed him in the arm with my steel model of the Eiffel Tower. I drew blood and I was only about six.

I used my new satchel mam got me from India to take along my Wii.

If I hadn't gone to nana's - I may have had another stab at the coursework - but I thought SERIOUSLY, FUCK IT, and I took along my Wii, determined to get past and conquer the glitch that's slowed my gaming progress all week.

If Bully hadn't glitched on me - I'd be halfway through another game by now.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I didn't talk to nana much at first.

But upon noticing she wasn't acting different towards me - I reduced my hostility levels slightly - turned them to depressive and silenced levels instead.

I ate my lunch - my aunty Jack and uncle Keith were round - I made an attempt to be somewhat pleasant.

Then I got myself some Penguin biscuits and blackcurrant juice - then I went back to Bully.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Over the course of today - I've gone beyond my old save.

MWAH HA HA.

I do believe the discovery of Aquaberry's second stock after the 3rd chapter and the completion of all boxing challenges has assisted me in gaining me some extra percentage.

Knowing how the shitty glitch happened last time and how I could avoid it a second time - I did that bastard mission, got my respect points, got my money, got my outfit, got my room trophy and got my well deserved mission completion.

UP YOURS, YOU SHITTY GLITCH!

DIXIE RAPED YOUR ARSE!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I ate cold pizza and cake for my tea - and mam came for me at about 7.

The repeat of Britain's Got Talent from last night was on ITV2.

I got an odd urge to watch it - so we all did. Of course, those three watching it for a second time.

I truly don't have the same sense of humour as my nana.

Everything that makes her piss makes me smile.

Everything that makes me piss makes her confused.

New Release Of The Week - The Raconteurs
The Raconteurs' album Consolers Of The Lonely - Can I just tell you, I have never heard an album like this before. This isn't just your average sit down and listen to it sort of album; this isn't a background music album. This is an album that the entire time that I'm listening to it, I want to be there with them, and I can't sit still because of it. My butt keeps wiggling in the seat because they pull you in with little things like on the opening track, "Consoler Of The Lonely" you hear the sounds of a small crowd, and even one of them speaking into the microphone "we'll want to double-track that" just makes these guys more human and all the more lovable for it. Then as the music continues, they pick up the pace and you become even more enthralled with the song. Definitely one of the shining tracks on this album in my opinion. The White Stripe's Jack White puts himself farther out there than ever before, and I can't help it, I'm beyond impressed. I never thought reverb and the fuzzed sounds that my own practice amp makes could sound so good. But then again, what can you expect from the group of friends (I'd say supergroup, but they really don't like that) that's obsessed with all things vintage? And songs like "Old Enough" bring you back to those good old days, with a wonderful string counterpart that's the perfect accent to Mr. White's amazingly unique voice. A sort of toe-tapping, head-bobbing song that makes you smile and think of the sunniest days of the year, playing in backyards and wrestling in the grass. A definite Beatles-esque feel is present through the entire album. But the song that really completes the album, that brings the vintage feel full circle, is the last track "Carolina Drama". To begin with, you won't find another song like this on any other album in this decade. They don't make music like this anymore; songs that truly tell stories and sound wonderful and even a little bit grungy as well. With that wistful chorus of women you start to feel like you're really there with Billy, watching this travesty occur. As the song climaxes (you read it right--how many other songs have you heard that climax?) I always feel my own fists begin to shake; the emotions are so perfectly portrayed in this, combining the music and the vocals into something indescribable. If you do nothing else, look this song up. It's one of the best of our time.

All in all, this album is incredible. It has it's ups and downs just like any other; some tracks that really shine and some that let the others shine. Regardless, it's one of the best releases we've had this year and I can't push you enough into picking it up.

Be Kind Rewind - Best Comedy of 2008

Be Kind Rewind - Trailer

Jerry (Jack Black) is a junkyard worker who attempts to sabotage a power plant that he believes is melting his brain. But when his plan goes awry, the magnetic field that he creates accidentally erases all of the videotapes in a local video store where his best friend Mike (Mos Def) works. Fearing that the mishap will cost Mike his job, the two friends team up to keep the store's only loyal customer, a little old lady with a tenuous grasp on reality (Mia Farrow) from realizing what has happened by recreating and re-filming every movie that she decides to rent. They are described as having come from Sweden as an excuse for higher rental fees and longer wait times. Jerry and Mike become the biggest stars in their neighborhood by starring in some of the biggest movies ever made, but soon get into trouble when it turns out their 20-minute duplicate films violate copyright law.

This movie looks terrific. I loved Jack Black in School of Rock and I'm a big fan of Moss Def's attempts to change America from the ground up...

I don't know much about Moss Def but I have learned that on September 7, 2007, Mos Def appeared on Real Time with Bill Maher where he spoke about racism against African Americans citing the government response to Hurricane Katrina, the Jena Six and the murder conviction of Mumia Abu-Jamal. Somehow that makes him even funnier to me - to know that he has a serious side and is passionate about his beliefs... passionate enough to speak out against the Bush Administration and publicly accuse them of being behind the 2001 Terror Attacks. (His rap song "Bin Laden" in 2004 blamed the Reagan Doctrine and President George W. Bush for the September 11, 2001 attacks. A club remix song, featuring Eminem, was released the following year, in 2005.)
