Grandcentral Invite by Google

For those of you that have been scouring the planet for a Grandcentral invite, look no further. For now (and who knows how much longer) you can sign up for your very own Grandcentral account with no strings attached - and no invite required. Head over to http://www.grandcentral.com/home/blogger_invite before it's too late.

If you don't have a Grandcentral account you really need to get one. For those of you that don't know anything about GC - essentially it gives you a phone number of your choosing (from a list in your area that GC offers) and it's yours for life. Any calls to that number will forward wherever you'd like - cell, work, home etc. You can setup spam filters for those evil telemarketers, address groups that will forward to a specified location, switch phones mid call, listen to voicemail online and even save your messages for eternity (so they say). The options are immense. Long story short - sign up first so you don't miss your chance, and read about it later. This is one freebie you don't want to miss.

The Weekend Has Arrived !

Went to work today at 8 am. Where it just another normal day. A few examples of bad driving today in our lot. One resulting in an accident. Where an old fart ran into a parked armored truck. What a moron. Goes to show you, old people don't belong on the road. Why do you think NYS has been trying to pass a law that says you have to take a road test at 70.  Humm...  to bad the majority of the people that vote are that age. So, no matter how many times they have tried to pass that law, it hasn't gone though.

Other then that, it was a normal uneventful day at work. There is no mileage to report as the device was left at home on my desk. Ya, I know, your sad. Right?

Left work at 330,  on the way home, I went to my bank, and got gas.  I arrived home just after 4 PM. Where I found my father had called a cab and went to the moose early. Big shock there.  So I got changed.

Then my mother and myself went to the Walden Galleria. Where we found dinner, and went store browsing. We ended up leaving with a couple things. Lots of store have new Sabres logo stuff. Some cool stuff, but I didn't buy anything. We arrived back at home at 630 PM.

Where I turned on TV, and watched ... It takes a thief, then, dirty jobs,  and right now, I am watching WWE Smackdown. Also going on right now, is random kitten play.  Hey it happens when an 8 month old kitten lives in the house.  Other then that, as you can see, I am now online. Probably until I go somewhere or go to bed.

Plans for the rest of the night? Unless asked to go somewhere, I am here for the rest of the night. Watching whatever is on TV until I got to bed. Whenever I feel like going to bed.

What's on my mind? That I haven't mentioned? Nothing much really. I am trying not to think about work right now, as those thoughts only seem to depress and piss me off. Why? You ask? Simple, go read the past week's blogs and figure it out for yourself. Other then that, there's not really much to think about. I am off tomorrow, and Sunday!  Yippy! Anyone wanna do anything this weekend, let me know!?

Anything else I feel the need to include?  Nope, nothing other then this.  Go Sabres !!  Tomorrow night they go for the NHL record.

~ Around for now Smiley

Pictures Environgirl's foot Travels.....Bear on the Move and Poetry!

Howdy, Howdy all! Well I spent my day walking about the city. Since I didn't have a way to get to a nice state park I decided to see what was to be seen on the route I usually take by bus to my part-time gig.  It wasnt that  long of a walk. it took about an hour and 40 minutes. But then I took a bunch of detours and had to navigate some very busy roads and byways. I started my journey from my street.  The first street was not really scenic so I didnt take any pictures until the second street. Here is where we start folks. Not very nice but it is in a tony-er part of houston so there are fewer eyesores and a lot more greenery. Note the long line of SUVs even though there is NO rough terrain to navigate!

Next I went to a health food store where the folks are oh so nice to me on days when it is raining and I am waiting for my bus. Hey Myclette that is an owl on top. One of the ladies who works there is really down with owls also!

I continue until I find a little area that is a part of memorial park and decide to go exploring. Not too far because judging by the terain not too many people traverse the area.

Check out that mop water folks. YUCK! I moved on for fear of falling into what looks to me like a toxic kamikazee cocktail! Image hosting by Photobucket>

I finally get to a place with what looks like a nice trail on it and find myself on the business end of a "No Entry" situation! RATS!

Well it has been quite a journey already and I havent even eaten yet. How about a snack? Doesn't that look tasty? Image hosting by Photobucket

Time to keep it moving! I walk on down until I get to the "high dollar homes" area and have to suffer the cop who wants to know where exactly I am on my way to this morning. Actually I kinda figured this was coming because I noticed a guy drive past really slow and look at me and then repeat the process a number of times and then moments later a boy in blue rolled up. Maybe he thought I was looking for a house to put into my back pack or maybe I was casing the woods for pidgeons to steal. Anyway we exchanged a few words(he asked me for some identification and I asked him for his). He grudgingly complied since we were on a mainstreet and many folks were out and about getting there consumer fix at the local strip center.

Man that was a long walk! Image hosting by Photobucket

Maybe I should just keep on walking huh? Image hosting by Photobucket

The journey back home was not nearly as eventful but hey, the mundane has to happen sometime. How else would we know the not so mundane when it showed itself?

How about some  poetry...here goes...

Kidnap Poem

ever been kidnapped
by a poet
if i were a poet
i'd kidnap you
put you in my phrases and meter
you to jones beach
or maybe coney island
or maybe just to my house
lyric you in lilacs
dash you in the rain
blend into the beach
to complement my see
play the lyre for you
ode you with my love song
anything to win you
wrap you in the red Black green
show you off to mama
yeah if i were a poet i'd kid
nap you--Nikki Giovanni

Well I had a lovely, lovely Tuesday, even with the attitude of "Officer Friendly"

Hope everyone had/has a lovely time with the one they love. Since I was with nature I guess I got this wish for myself as well.

Goddess Bless
