Last week I bought this album by Slipknot called Iowa. Since I already had Vol 3: The Sublibmal Verses and Slipknot (except for the intro) I assumed it would be appropriate to buy it. Of course, I had read all of the reviews on it just as any other CD I buy. What I got was this: It was the darkest Slipknot album, it wasn't as experimental as the first album, it had more singing, and had less DJing. Well, when I finally listened to the album I found that all of that was true. It certainly wasn't as experimental as the debut but that doesn't mean it wasn't good. The CD I listen to about everyday and my sister Michelle would probably agree.
Earlier the same week I also bought Come Clarity by In Flames. Now, this was the first album by them that I bought so I don't know how it compares to their older albums. I had of course heard two of the singles "Take This Life" and "Come Clarity" before buying the album. Both songs I really thought were awesome. So when I listened to the album what I heard were aggresive screams, melodic singing, awesome guitar solos (I didn't know how else to describe that one...), and there were as always slow moving songs (Well, not really more like soft moving songs). All in all I think it was one of the best albums I've heard in awhile along with the other one I bought, Iowa.
