WHEN WILL I FUCKING LEARN? K10, YOU WERE SOOOOO RIGHT!
yeah, i've not felt like blogging anymore but i'm still pissed....(well, i was sort of over it but now i'm pissed again)...that apology was soooooo fake.

i've been really happy lately. i'm still getting over this flu (the first one i've ever had and YUCK.)
Nick hasn't been coming over during the week because his grades were slipping so i only see him on Saturdays now. we IM, talk on the phone, and text all day and night tho'...we even text each other in the middle of the night when either of us has to use the bathroom. sometimes the messages make no sense at all. okay...that's not what i came to blog about.

wow...banging on these keys has made me feel a tiny bit better already.

i'm thinking about being a real evil bitch and telling someone about someone else. i'm so sick of her MOTHER FUCKING BULLSHIT!

SHE'S NOT A FRIEND TO ME.
SHE DOES NOT LOVE ME.
ALL SHE DOES IS USE AND USE PEOPLE.

well, yesterday I was on IMVU. I was dressed like this:Photobucket.
that's not the person she thinks is her man...that's my only friend from IMVU and all we do is talk and dance together. and Nick knows all about IMVU...i don't lie to him.

now...you can dress as anything on this place...i was even a pink cat the other day. so...while i was shopping for more stuff to go with my outfit i got an invite to chat with a guy. a guy that's on HER friend list. SHE has two boyfriends there that think she's 32 and single. now, to be honest...she and i don't really speak that much on IMVU. whenever i message her she's always busy with her men who (by the way) don't even know about each other...pfffffffft....CRAZY BITCH!

LOL...so...when she pops on he invites her to his house to chat with us...he's thinking she'll be happy to see us hanging together...well don't you know that that just made already Crazy...Crazy to nth power?

at first we are both wondering why she left....we thought the dumb cunt crashed but no..... she went psycho...and the next thing is he says: "she just IMed me....i'll be back." i knew then and there that she was upset/PSYCHOFUCKINGJEALOUS. she never came to talk to me at all. but she did leave me a message that stated: "hanging out with my guy naked wthyf?" and she never said anything else to me. so i sent her a note saying that, "first of all...i was in a bathing suit and he and i were chatting about nothing and he wasn't hitting on me and i wasn't hitting on him. i don't want your man  and GET A GRIP..THIS ISN'T REAL IT'S JUST IMVU!"

so, about an hour or two later i get a message from here stating that she was fighting with her husband all day and she came there and flipped when she saw us together and that she was sorry and that she loved me. now...if she really loved me she wouldn't act like this with me...and she would have talked to ME yesterday not HIM....i mean THEM...cuz she has 3 (i'd forgotten about the 19 year old.) she was there until after midnight my time and she never tried to talk to me again. what a phony and i also guess i'm getting what i deserved for being a stupid person and letting PSYCHO back into my life. but i'm a forgiving person....i've even stated that if my father ever apologized to me i'd forgive him. i know that won't happen because he would never and he doesn't think he's anything to apologize for...and if he did ever apologize he'd mean it. even when he was getting the shit kicked out of him and they were asking him, "are you sorry now???" he shook his head and even said i was his daughter in the middle of it.

i know that some people take that place seriously....like they role play like they are really married! they even have slaves and mistresses and babies...that place is crazy. honestly? i just go there to dress up and dance in the clubs. i barely talk to anyone besides: "hi, i'm well, how are you?, good." well, i met a guy this week and he and i've been chatting but that all we do....... i don't do those random chats and i don't do cyber sex there. the dressing up in the crazy costumes while dancing and listening to the great music is my main joy there.

anyway...i logged in to IMVU this morning to tell the guy what a crazy fucking liar she is but i think i've changed my mind. i couuuuuuuuullllllld...i shouuuuuuuuuulllllld.....pffffffffftttttt.......as many times as that bitch has thrown my ass out the fucking plane window, as throwing my ass under a bus has proved to have been too kind she thinks.

later guys,
have a good day

wow...they even have an IMVU tag!
...lol...i should make this blog public.
whatchuthink?
hehe

Memories of an Engineer: GlobalMUSH

For those of us that are 35 and over, going to college meant a lot of things.

Freedom.

Parties!

New experiences.

New friends.

Late night study sessions.

Intense school spirit!

Preparing ourselves for the future.

Along the way, we encounter the things we never thought we'd see:

Cheap, cheap pizza.

The value of a dollar. Or even 50 cents!

The joy of sleeping in on a day with no classes, and still technically calling it 'being at school'.

Ditching a lecture.

The beauty and simplicity of ramen!

How strong friendships from high school really are.

And then there are the things we never knew existed:

The Internet

The Outside World

My freshman year in college was a tumultuous one. I was away from home, in a school that I really didn't choose, and I was away from all of my friends who were still at home for the most part. I had to start over. The classes were overwhelming, it seemed, trying to make it to everywhere on time and get everything done on time was a monumental task in itself, let alone absorb the material. I did start to make some new friends on the floor in the dorms, and we bonded pretty well. Well enough that two of them eventually became my roommates for a time over the course of my university experience.

But the stress of everything weighed in much heavier, and faster, than I could ever have anticipated. My grades started to suffer. My pride and joy up to this point was disintegrating in front of me. And for a time, I honestly didn't care. I still felt alone.

One of the guys that I am still friends with, introduced me to a new thing on the blossoming Internet back then - before web pages were tossed around and created like confetti, before Flash animation and 4 different browsers, before spam and viruses via attachments, before newbies were called nOObs, before AOL or Google or MSN, before even 56k dialup speeds, the Internet was a very quiet place - except for these hot spots of gaming and interaction called MUDs and MUSHes. And some were called MOOs. Not kidding.

MUD meant Multi-User Dungeon (or Dimension, depending on who you talked to) and was a text-only game based on the popular Dungeons and Dragons role-playing game. There were others out there that based their creations in different genres - some of their names sound so foreign nowadays. SneezyMUD. ApocalypseMUD. JediMUD (for Star Wars fans). But the premise was the same. People (college students, mostly) from around the country, and even in some cases, from areas of the world where access was available, would jump online and interact with their environment in a game. People would group together, take down creatures, gather gold and experience, and move onto more challenging areas. If your character died, you hoped that someone could guard your body from looters or that someone could grab it and bring it back to the (now called) respawn point. And of course, you chat. You get to know people. You become friends.

MUSH meant Multi-User Shared Habitat (or Hallucination, depending on who you talked to) and was also a text-only game, but in this case, it was more of the peaceful, create-your-own world section of the Internet. Some were based off of a general concept, others had specific themes. Again, some of these places sound foreign now. TinyTIM. GlobalMUSH. PernMUSH. After5. You would get a limited amount of credits to create rooms and objects, and since it was all text-based, with the exception of some people's creative ASCII graphics, you had to really use your imagination. The nice thing about the credit system was, if you created a lot, you got more credits. They were free. FREE! Because college students are poor, and there was no way that any of these places could even conceive charging a nickel for this type of interaction. The infrastructure just wasn't there. Also, almost all of these places were hosted on university servers. Sometimes someone would sneak it into a corporate mainframe, but still, each and every one of these places was free. Just needed to know the IP address to TELNET into.

People flocked to these places as well, those that didn't like the whole gaming and competition aspect of it, or those who preferred to socialize instead. Some did both MUDs and MUSHes, in many cases multiple ones, and those people were Internet Addicts. I became one of those. I had a character on Apocalypse, and Global. I found out about Global as it was just getting started from a friend on Apocalypse who was 'hanging up her sword and shield' and settling down to become a wizard (admin) on Global, to help them start up.

Global became a home away, from the home away from home. I spent hours on there, coding, creating, polishing, experimenting, perfecting. One had to learn the coding system of the MUSH in order to operate, and once I started to get the hang of it through the help of my wizard friend, I asked how I could repay her kindness. She said:

"Help others. Teach them what I've taught you." And I did.

I created my perfect area, my sanctuary, complete with some interactive items to make it more 'real'. I would meet people from all over the country. Flirt a lot. Fall in love. Fall out of love. And the time slipped away, as did my grades. I went from being an A-B student to being a C-D student in the matter of one semester. I didn't care about my finals. I just wanted to be online, basking in the warm glow of the white-on-black background 15" CRT  and my friends from far-flung places.

Global is still around, (telnet mildew.org 4201) for those who have a good TELNET emulator (the one with Windows is kinda hokey) and an account on there. I don't know how easy it is to create an account, but it's still free, even after 15+ years of being online.

After that disastrous semester, I came back, on probation, but with a renewed sense of what I needed to do. Time spent on Global was limited to when I could do it. A treat instead of the main course.  I pulled up my grades, graduated and here I am today, reliving the memories of the days spent in the early Digital World. But what is very interesting to me is to see how far things have come since those days:

I am Orion's Eyes, a towering giant's sight.
So sorry that I haven't updated for a few days now. I just have been busy and working on homework so much, I haven't had time to gather my thoughts for a decent post. I went home this past weekend, after picking my mom up from the airport and just relaxed really. I got to spend the whole day with my buddies Danny (esterk ) and Nat, and it was a fun time, so it was a nice weekend overall. Even though my mom hated my straight hair, she wasn't TOO mean about it, so I guess it's all good. She got me an awesome University of Texas t-shirt though, so I thanked her a bunch of times for it. It made my roommate Nathan really happy to see she got me a Texas shirt, just cause he's a huge fan and has been trying to make me into one too. (I guess they're officially my 2nd team now) :P

While I was at home, Danny gave me a bunch of music, along with the masses of music I've been listening to lately, so here are some of the artists/albums I've been listening to:

illScarlett - All Day With It: This album is FANTASTIC. Yeah, the band is a bunch of guys talking about pot in most of their songs, but the way they tie their music together, and their witty lyric writing sometimes is too hard to pass up. A highly recommended album if you're into a band that knows how to make an album with a big variety of sounds.

RED - Innocence and Instinct:
This is very similar to their first album, however their lyric writing has improved some, and the albums theme on human emotion is very neat. Worth a listen if you're into the hard rock scene, but this band knows how to do some soft ballads as well.

Forgive Durden - Razia's Shadow: A Musical: This album is basically just a huge story told in song, and it's FANTASTIC. After Forgive Durden's vocalist Thomas Dutton was left by the rest of his band due to musical differences, he decided to make his story side project under the name of his "band". This album utilizes duets often, and features a lot of guest artists, such as Casey Crescenzo (from the Dear Hunter which I LOOOOVE),  Nic Newsham (from Gatsby's American Dream, I love them too!),  Brendon Urie (from Panic! At the Disco, not the biggest fan of them), and many other big artists from The Matches, Say Anything, and more. Highly, highly recommend this album, it's much different from the norm, and reminds me a LOT of the Dear Hunter's style.

A Day to Remember - Homesick: This was Alternative Press' most anticipated album of 2009, and with very good reason. This album is a perfect balance of ADtR's screaming and singing. While the band relies on a lot of "hardcore" elements, the band also showcases some fantastic vocals at times, worth a listen if you're into harder rock.

On another note, my shmexy buddy (and now Mindsay sister/BFF) genny5 got me to download this program IMVU, and it's amusing. I don't know how much time I'll have to use it since I'm always working on schoolwork, but I really like the program. It's unique and fairly easy to use! Now onto my music for the day, I decided to pick a song I haven't listened to in a while, but really love:

Like sugar the sweetest thing I ever tasted
Like a fine merlot
And white pills cut on glass and lips of dolls
I'm told there was beauty in our silence
So hold me angel, love me angel

Kiss the sun and burn our lips dead radio
Candy girl you will never ever, ever make me the
Perfect killer
Outside the rabbit hole is a candy shop of poison

A velvet tongue demur is cast and melted
We are not alone
A creature stirs outside these paper walls
These gods are hollow and burned
Ignite this angel, love me angel

Kiss the sun and burn our lips dead radio
Candy girl you will never ever, ever make me the
Perfect killer
Outside the rabbit hole is a candy shop of poison

The sweetest thing I ever tasted...
Invite me to pray, let the music glow
Ignite my eyes and watch the poison flow

Say it with me: "We Are Ghost"
Not too loud, the Kingdom follows

Kiss the sun and burn our lips dead radio
Candy girl you will never ever, ever make me the
Perfect killer
Outside the rabbit hole is a candy shop of poison
Kiss the sun and burn our lips dead radio
Candy girl you will never ever, ever make me the
Perfect killer
Outside the rabbit hole is a candy shop of poison
Make me the perfect...killer
Invite me to pray and let the music glow

Killer Likes Candy - I Am Ghost
