So, I'm at rehearsal for Our Town the other night, and those of us playing ghosts in a graveyard are clowning around and talking amongst ourselves, making jokes about our characters...when we get the idea to form an improv troupe. We're in the very early stages, but we've taken to calling ourselves "The 13th City Theatre" after the Second City because Rocky Mount, where we live, is (or was a couple of years ago anyway) the thirteenth largest city in North Carolina. I'd like to do some comedic plays in addition to straight improv. This should be fun. We've got five people interested so far, so I'm looking forward to getting it off the ground.
