Immunizations @ MindSay
Take a look at this shop that sells merchandise for the NJ Coalition for Vaccination Choice. I set up the shop last night and the designs are all original. The prices aren't marked up at all - they are the base prices for the products determined by cafe press.

I ordered the pink t-shirt and the bumper sticker today. Can't wait to get them.
There's one at http://www.cispimmunize.org/IZSchedule_2006.pdf but I am still trying to figure out why Aria got another DTP, I'm thinking it may have been whatever a Tdap is...
http://www.immunize.org/catg.d/p2022b.pdf This is a good place to print a form to keep track of your child's immunizations.
Ah well, I cannot figure out why Roni was told her daughter is fine till 14 and mine just got a tetnus booster at her last physical...but I am not going to worry about it...

Yesterday I was talking to a coworker about thimerisol used in vaccines as a preservative. It's mercury, which is poisonous. Ususally a person's body can detoxify itself and remove the mercury. But in cases where the immune system is impaired, the body may not be able to remove it. Then the mercury attacks the brain, she said. there are some studies that suggest a connection between the thimerisol and autism, but there are other studies saying that the connection is not documented by scientific studies. She said there are thimerisol free vaccines available for some of the diseases. I didn't know that or I would have asked for them. Either way, it's a scary thing to think about because without the vaccines, the risk for disease is very real. Even though we don't often see disease, that is due in large part to the fact that most children have been immunized against them. I did get two websites from my doctor about immunizations, immunization info and Children's Health of Philidelphia from the doctor so I will be checking those out before I make a decision about the MMR.
Roo weighed 18 1/2 lbs, and was 30 and 1/4 inches long. The rash she has had for a few weeks on her skin, the doctor confirmed that it is dryness. Clint had eczema when he was a baby and so did his brother. The doctor said that Hannah's is mild enough that we need to moisturize her and it will probably go away completely when the air is not so dry.
Hannah was walking and socializing with the doctor very well, although she protested to the shots. The doctor also said we can switch her to whole milk, in a cup, no more bottles, and she gave us lots of info about nutrition and eating. All things considered, it was a good checkup.
Since the visit, Hannah has refused all but one bottle. And she won't drink formula no matter what you put it in. Which is strange because she'd had milk several times before going to the doctor and didn't seem to like it as much as formula. Maybe after hearing the doctor say she doesn't need the formula, she believes she doesn't need it! Unfortunately, she's not getting enough fluids, I can tell by how dry her diapers are. I'm going to offer her a cup of water more often.
Also she has been talking more and using certain words for the same things a bit more. She'll be talking before we know it! She already says "Dis" and "Dat" when she points to things. Then she waits for you to respond before looking away or moving on to the next thing. Last night at her grandparents' we were saying, "Where's _____?" and seeing if she would look in the right direction. She knew the light, and Grandma, Grandpa, Dad, Mom...I don't remember what else we asked her.
