Ikea @ MindSay
I totally skipped the month of May. A lot has been going on in my neck of the woods. I have been able to pop on a few times here and there to check out what my peoples have been up to, but really have not had the time to do an actual entry. Here is my usual little bulleted summary of stuff in no particular order of happenings.
- Ben and I broke up. We are still great friends and see each other everyday. He is probably moving to Arizona because he can make nearly almost triple what he does here.
- helendaysauce had her baby!
- My cell phone is on the verge of dying. Evidently a lot of moisture got into it and fucked it up hardcore. I didn't know what to do, so Ben and I went to the Alltel in Merrill seeing as there are no Alltels in Wausau. The dick working asked me "Are you sure this is an Alltel phone?". Uh, yeah...I wouldn't be bringing it to you if it wasn't. It is now working, but hit and miss. Of course, I don't have insurance on it and I have over a year left in my contract.
- It is Woodchuck season again!
- I finally went to the doctor for my anxiety and depression. The doctor put me on Fluoxetine and I am to call him in two weeks to let him know how it is going. So far I am not feeling any different except I am now sleeping through the night.
- Going on two months of overtime at work and people are really getting sick of it; not the pay, but working the long hours and not getting a thank you. Four ten hour days for sure; an occassional fifth ten hour day or a half day is thrown in there.
- My brother graduated from college.
- I have been looking for different fulltime employment since about Thanksgiving and haven't had much luck. Not really expecting much out there now with the current state of the economy.
- I was off of work at the video store for medical reasons and went back in the begining of May to let the manager know I was able to come back to work. He told me that because he didn't know when I was going to be coming back, he hired a bunch of people and now he didn't even have the hours to give them. Is it that hard to give me a call and be like, "Hey Sara, this is Shaun. I was wondering if you had a possible timeline for when you would be coming back. I am looking to be hiring more people and wanted to make sure you were coming back before I started interviewing."
- My brother's band Flash Back has been playing at a bar in Rapids on a regular basis and now is going to be playing there every third Saturday of the month.
- Will be seeing Seether and REO Speedwagon this summer at the fair.
- Had pink-eye. I was really hoping it was just allergies, but of course it couldn't be. Plus, I have never had goopy eyes with allergies, so I knew it was a long shot. The whole week prior to my pink-eye, five out of the seven kids in my classroom had the whole pink-eye like symptoms; none of their doctors would confirm it, but they were treating it with drops just to be on the safe side. Yeah, try to tell me none of them had pink-eye and I ended up with it -- in BOTH eyes.
- I really want to see NKOTB when they tour this summer.
- Brought my bike up from my parents' place. I haven't ridden it much yet. I really need to ride from the apartment to work to see how long it is going to take me to ride to work.
- Might be heading back to the Twin Cities this summer and head back to IKEA and go to the Hard Rock Cafe. I will call ahead and make sure that they have the Lillberg couch before I go.
I have finally posted the pics from our trip to the Twin Cities. Overall, I wasn't overly thrilled with the Mall of America. The must do of the visit there was the old time photography where we did the whole 1920s thing. If you would like to see all of the photos that were taken, you can click on our direct link and if you're really stalkerish you could even purchase them! Also had to do the tourist thing of taking pictures of Lego Land. Didn't venture in due to the amount of children which were in there, but it was really neat to look at.
Went to IKEA after our little adventure of trying to get out of the Mall. The whole reason we were going was so I could get the matching Lillberg couch for the Lillberg loveseat I have. Checked the in store inventory on their website before we went and it said that they had two in stock, so I figured it would be no biggy to get one. Get there and they didn't have any. No display with the rest of the furniture, no display in the self service area. I was pissed. One good thing about not getting the couch is that in their As-Is section, they had the Malm chest of drawers I was looking at. It had a tiny chunk missing out of the top of it and the two top drawers weren't level, but you had to look for them to even see them. The best thing about it is that it was only $79.00 rather than the $149.00 that the one on the floor was going for. Also got a new desk, cart for desk, and side table.
We are hoping to head back to the Cities again in May or so, but a lot of the depends on gas prices. Right now we are sitting at $3.39 a gallon. On our next trip, we plan on going to the Hard Rock. We were going to do it this time around, but when we woke up at the hotel, we were under a Winter Storm Warning and ended up getting around six inches of snow.
Ikea themed wedding shower... its screams insanity i know,
and now my house is an array of yellow and blue...
i'm just waiting for a man with a swedish accent to pop out and say "ikea"
The host (my mother) is going crazy with planning and is getting advice from the
co-host (my mother's mother) I'm here though just typing away avoiding questiongs such as
"WHERES THE PUNCH BOWL" and "AIMEE WHY ARE YOU STILL IN YOUR PJS"
Sure i'm all about my cousin getting married and the wedding day will no doubt
be far crazier than today, but I'm just going to stay away from the host and co-host so
I don't lose my sanity or become a wedding obsesed zombie. You see my mother is also getting married in a few months so I can see why she want everything to be perfect, but still i try not to be affected by
the marriage bug, its in the air and is sure to male everyone ... well... pretty much retarted love zombies...
well best be going ... PEACE
Isn't that cute? LOL!
Anyhow...my update while watching American Idol:
Had a busy and fun weekend. I still have a cold...but its getting better..its mostly a cough that is annoying every now and then but for the most part it's under control..there..but controlled. My sister came down Saturday and we went to Ikea and shopped...I got a few items... and some decorating ideas :) I can't wait to use my new Wok and I only paid 6.99 for it! Then they took us out to eat at a seafood restaurant called Joes Crabshack for our anniversary! We had such a fun time. :) Still full.. oh wait, we still ate more after that night!
The next day, they came back from their friends house, I didn't go to church cause of my cough...our church isn't a 'quiet' church service, but a barky cough is distracting anywhere! So, that afternoon we went up to Georgia's largest Flea market in Pendergrass and spent the afternoon walking around looking at the vendors stuff and having fun. At least I did. :)
They spent the night and left out Monday morning and I went back to work And promptly went into a coughing fit, luckily the client was in the same boat as me, but I had to step out and get some hot tea, the warmth really stops it.
Today, I started my part time job..they assigned me my first project. I think I did very well with it today! It will take me a bit to get back in my groove with that kind of work, we'll see !!!
Hope you are doing FABULOHSOH!
