This is the Only Place to Shop for Blinds!

If you're decorating your home and are going to buy blinds, start your shopping here!  Why?  What if I said you could Shop for Free Window Blinds ?  I'm serious.  This site is so original, it was granted a US patent!

Here's how it works:

You purchase the blinds you want.  Their prices are competitive, so you should save a bundle!  After making your purchase, you get a referral link.  You then tell all your friends, family, coworkers about it.  Send them the link in an email and when anyone makes a purchase, you get 20% of their purchase.  You will continue to get the 20% of all your referrals' purchases until your purchase prices is covered.  You have up to 5 years to recover the purchase of your blinds!  Imagine.  You can create a banner, put it on mommy forums, traffic exchanges and even your myspace.  You can also add it to your signature on your email.  That way, the next time you send everyone that funny joke you got, you're advertising your link.  I don't think it would be that hard to get your purchase price back!

Here's their press release.  Read it and see what I mean:

FREEblinds.com Debuts Patent-Pending Shopping Concept

June 20, 2007
St. Augustine, Florida

FREEblinds.com, Inc. (www.freeblinds.com) announced today the launch of their FREEblinds.com website, a Next-Generation Internet shopping site offering an extensive variety of window coverings with the ability to earn back 100% of their product purchase price. It’s just the first of many websites providing customers the opportunity to get their products for FREE through the patent-pending FREEshopping.com Rewards Program.
With the look and feel of other consumer websites, FREEblinds.com operates in similar fashion. First you shop from a vast array of products offered at some of the lowest prices to be found on the Internet; you make your selection; then submit your order. It's at checkout where the similarity to all other sites ends. Upon conclusion of checkout, the customer is assigned a unique code, and presented with the option to share that code with others interested in purchasing window coverings. Then each time a referred customer’s order has been completed, 20% of the referred customer's product purchase amount is Rewarded (via a check refund) to the original referring customer. This process continues for each referred order until 100% of the original customer's product purchase amount has been returned. Customers have a full FIVE years to earn back their product costs. And, every referred customer has the same opportunity to earn back their total purchase amount through the Rewards Program.

The process of "Totally Free Products" was created by FREEblinds.com and FREEshopping.com founder Joe Mehm. A pioneer in online retailing, Mehm asks, "Why shop anywhere else? What’s better than free?" And, since we sell our products at the most competitive prices on the Internet, even if you don't earn a single Reward, you will still save money." he asserts. "That's reason enough to shop at FREEblinds.com. Then giving customers the opportunity to earn back 100% of their product cost, is just icing on the cake!" Mehm concludes.

The process making this concept possible is so distinct, so unique that Mehm has been awarded Patent Pending Status by the United States Patent Office.

Simply put, the customer rewards are offset by savings realized from reduced expenditures of conventional Internet advertising. FREEblinds.com pays past customers to bring in new customers. While it might be said that one expense just replaces the other, this process does much more than that. Internet advertising costs, as with other conventional advertising costs, are not tied to results. Therefore, one pays for advertising whether business is created from that advertising or not. With the FREEshopping process, advertising is only paid after sales are made, for revenue already generated. And, like a gift that keeps on giving, satisfied, fully Rewarded customers are naturally going to continue to tell others how smart they were to shop FreeBlinds.com, now creating business free from any advertising expense.

To make it easy for customers to get their referrals started, FREEblinds.com has positioned valuable tools at the end of order checkout to help automate the referral process. Customers can easily print a sheet of referral cards formatted with their name and referral code. Another feature allows the customer to enter the names and email addresses of friends and family, so that an automated link explaining the program is forwarded to them along with the referrer's code. And, for those customers with their own website, MySpace site, etc., a section of copy and paste text is available for pasting a small banner on their site. Once pasted on their site, any purchase made through that link, embedded with their referral code, automatically posts a credit to the customer's account. It then becomes possible for a customer to receive all of their money back without ever having to refer someone personally.

FREEblinds.com...the first of an exclusive group of fine merchants offering consumers quality products along with the process to receive back 100% of the cost of their product purchases. Next-Generation shopping is here today!

So there you have it.  I love a great deal, so I'm going to get a cup of coffee and choose some blinds.  Having a house with 6 bedrooms, 2 kitchens, 5 bathrooms, 7 kids and 9 pets means something always needs to be replaced.  I never told you about how my jack russel terrier (Rockefeller) ate the cord to the blinds.  Let's just say, even the pets want to have their time in the limelight in this circus!

Home Projects and Holiday Preparations

I got thinking, some people may ponder; so what is it a gardener will do over the winter months?
Besides enjoying everything about the holidays and savouring the jars of goodies from the garden now lining the pantry shelves and stuffing the freezer full... I celebrate my birthday in the winter - February br--r-r-r! And every day in winter I celebrate the lengthening of the days! By the way - the solstice is tomorrow - yay! Welcome sun!

There's still plenty to keep the gardener's spirits soaring. There are the birds of course; some stay year round and others only take the time to visit in the winter, when food elsewhere is scarce. They are always entertaining and their songs and flying antics uplifting to the spirit.

And there are lovely plant nurseries to visit nearby that are open all year. One favourite nursery has a large indoor display of cacti - probably one of the largest in Ontario - and strolling among the cacti specimens and flowering orchids is like finding a warm cabin on a blustery winter's day in late January!

And there are the projects, indoors, that have been ignored and neglected over the summer - when it's just too nice outside and too fun to be there. With a home that is over 100 years old there are bound to be projects! So this winter we are focusing on replacing some floors, we had started a while ago, well before the snow came and have stalled a few times as we learned new things about the previous owners' handiwork... Yup - uncovering floors can uncover big surprises!

We're concentrating on our entryway, including the stairs, upper hall and bathroom. I'm looking forward to new floors there, it'll greet our guests nicely and be much easier to keep clean and tidy! Then there's always painting and sprucing up... That's always a good start for a new year isn't it? Ready with a fresh new face for a fresh new year!

In the meantime the baking continues... the aromas that fill the house these days are so nostalgic! I used to love baking cookies and breads with my daughter as she grew. She is carrying on the same tradition in her home and I'm glad she enjoyed it that much! Made up a batch of mincemeat tarts yesterday, along with some little beef pot pies I was making for supper. Today a lovely peanutbutter, graham cracker crumb chocolate bar cookie that's deliciously akin to a peanut butter cup - yum! Plus made some shortbread and sugar cookie doughs. I rolled and baked the sugar cookies - they're cut out in snowmen, star and bell shapes and now ready to decorate with royal frosting and coloured sugars and sprinkles. I'll bake the shortbread tomorrow - cut like crescent moons and shooting stars and they'll be decorated with white or dark chocolate and finely chopped pecans. YUM! At least that's been the reaction from the taste tester panel!

Turns out we do have a little pressure this year - as my brother & sister in law will be coming for Christmas after all - we had originally thought they wouldn't be down till New Year's, and so I'll be running for a last minute fresh turkey - hoping there'll be a few left as the deadline to order them has passed! Not a problem, and there's always frozen - but fresh - oh gee, if you're going to eat turkey - a fresh turkey truly has the very best flavour!

Well have to get this posted... Tomorrow's another busy baking day and I don't want to miss a minute of it!

Pleasant dreams!
