Ok. I go back to work tomorrow which means that TODAY...I need to get busy. Yesterday I sat in front of the computer all day and basically did...not much. I did check my faves, read my blogs..check forums but really, does that amount to much? Not really. I worked on my skirt a little but it needs to get done so I can move onto the quilt. I want that quilt done, I'm bothered with the bed only being "half done"
Its gotten to the point that Pete called for an "intervention" yesterday. He said that I sit at a computer all day at work, then I come home and sit on the computer all night at home....sad but true. Ouch. So today I only get two computer times. I need to back away from the computer! I've been addicted to the computer since I got one!! Need to back off it and pay attention to the house. So..here's my to do list that should help me stay away from the computer today.
Finish the skirt
Finish the top of the quilt
Get to the store?
Go for a walk
Watch a movie
Snuggle the hubby
There....that aught to do it. Here's hoping I can "kick the habit"
I was watching The Neverending story on my laptop last night when the sucker froze up on me. It totally got stuck. I finally gave up getting things running again and did a hard shut down. I never could get it running this morning either. LUCKILY I purchased the 3 year extended warranty when I got it last year. Thank goodness. I took it in and they said that it would be one or two weeks before I would likely get it back. The Horror! Two weeks with no computer. I don't think I can face it. Sooooo.... I bought a new one. LOL
I have been planning to get a new computer for Mamajo eventually. She currently shares mine but, it can get tough when we both want to be on at the same time. Mostly she uses it when I am at work and I take it over when I get home. I thought about it and discussed it with her and we decided to take a look at what is out there in our price range. We talked about getting a rebuilt Hard Drive from this place we go to. They start at $79 and up. We got to looking and wound up getting a new one for $700. Yikes. Unexpected expense. Once I get mine back we will be a two computer family! I just need to get a wireless router so we can both get online at the same time. WE WON'T BE MOVING IN FEBUARY AFTER ALL. LMAO... That was our moving fund. Oh well... we are OK where we are. We could use more space in our house but mostly I have just been sick of the complex we live at. I wanted to get the computer more. LOL
So really! I just finnished (Feb) 3+ years of schooling in the computer sciences and business disciplines and it would appear that these kinds of jobs are few and far between in Saskatchewan. The ones I am able to track down don't pay very well and I now have a big student loan to pay back. It really looks like I am going to have to move to Alberta or Ontario to get anything worthwhile.
My objective was to start my own business here since the computer industry is just catching on in this province, but the population base of 1 million or less makes that a scary proposition in a land of dirt roads! I haven't given up though, and am looking at the possibility of moving to Saskatoon and providing an in-house computer repair and maintainence service. I will come to your home or business to service your machines.
Just when ya think everything is going smoothly ... WHAM! Blindsided by a quickly paid bill ... OOOOPS ... wrong amount! Out goes the computer ... SHEESH what happened??? Blogging by office-light until the home-fires are rekindled in our home computer! Unbelievable! I'm just not allowed to get comfortable. *sigh*
