Home Coming @ MindSay

Thank you
We need to take a moment and thank all the military personal that have help protect this country in the last few years.  Don't ever let this era turn in to something like Post Vietnam: we need to remember the soldiers that are fighting and dying for our country...Right Now.

Thank you...for a job well done.

Our Easter Weekend So Far

Yesterday was pretty fun. There was an egg hunt at the big park, sponsored by a church. I asked my kids if they wanted to go, and they said yes. Then I offered them a choice. They could go, or have an egg hunt in our backyard, just the two of them. Would you believe they wanted to stay home and have the private egg hunt? I was pleasantly surprised. So we went to the store to get some candy for the plastic I save every year. I filled 40 eggs while they were outside playing. Then I called them in so I could hide them. They had so much fun running all over the yard looking for them. I pointed out areas that they missed, and Caitlin even helped Matthew with a few eggs. That was sweet. They came in the house so we could count them to make sure we got them all. Caitlin had 23 and Matthew 17. On her own, she gave him 3 so they would have an equal amount. I thought that was really cool. She's not always so giving.

Dale called twice yesterday. It was the first time I had talked to him in nearly a month. He's sent a couple of emails, but they didn't have much bandwidth so he couldn't get online much. My poor man had not taken a shower in 31 days because that's just how it is when you are doing Army training. He was on his way to the PX so he could buy new underwear and socks, and get a decent meal. Then back to camp for a hot shower! He still won't be home for another week. That's very disappointing as they are all packed up, and some of the guys are already on their way home. There is no reason at all that any of these guys should still be there.

We don't go to church, so I wasn't up at dawn for a sunrise service. However, my children were up very early. They kept bugging me to get up so they could go down stairs and see what the Easter Bunny left for them. After about an hour, still only 7:30, I got up and we all went down stairs. Yay Easter Bunny, you did a good job. The kids were excited. Caitlin didn't even complain that Matthew's chocolate race car was bigger then her chocolate Barbie Bunny.

Currently the kids are upstairs watching Here Comes Peter Cottontail, coming down (the bunny trail, haha) stairs for a single bite of lunch whenever there is a commercial. haha I am eating my lunch as I type. Taking bites between sentences. hehe. I still have to move the furniture, slightly, because Dale's chair will be delivered tomorrow. For the $75 delivery fee I should make them slide the couch over. That is if I weren't afraid they would find school papers and Easter candy under there. I also plan to finally finish painting in the baby's room today. By my own clock, that has to be done before Dale comes home. Things have been slow going since we moved in, and I'd like to surprise him with actually having gotten some things done while he was away. I've emptied several boxes, put up the swing set (that will shock him), and gotten the garage cleaned out a little. There's a step in the right direction. :)
