A basket of plenty, symbolic of the fall harvest.
When putting your list together; of who to thank this year;
Don't forget to be thankful to the earth, for her bounty and her generosity. Thank family and friends for being an important part of your life. Thank your employer, employees or co-workers or fellow students. Thank the powers that be - in your life (god, jesus, allah, buddah, the cosmos, chance, the dice ) - for your freedom to be your true self!
Thank yourself - for your health, for your talents, your failings and for your being patient enough to hang around this long!
If you are the type who makes resolutions - make a resolution right now to remember to be thankful every day. When you operate from a stance of gratitude the world around you truly shines.
An attitude of gratitude - carry it with you always, don't stop when the holidays end.
Here's a fun little animation my daughter sent to me. It reminds me of one thing we truly should be thankful for - the beautiful sound of a child laughing - there's not much to beat that! Check this one out - and enjoy! It's called Elastic Baby! Copy and paste the link that follows or CLICK HERE http://d93.k12.id.us/~tech/smile.html. Caution - laughter is highly addictive and contagious!
Hey! One thing I'm thankful for - my service plan for my furnace! The furnace died this morning, either the fan or the motor is burned out - the breaker keeps tripping and the furnace won't heat the house... br-r-r-r!
Luckily it's not too cool today but tonight the temperature's slated to drop well below freezing... The company assures me someone will be here this afternoon or this evening, to have a look. Hopefully it's not a "biggie", maybe a bearing or something that is repairable... Keep your fingers crossed that I don't need a new furnace! ( Or that I won the lottery on Saturday night - that might be more useful! Ha!)
