Hike Hiking Solo @ MindSay

No more pictures.
I decided to go a little hike and enjoy the warm day that we are having today.  I was going to take some pictures of various camping stoves that I own, to post on my wiki page with a full review of each one.  So,  I loaded up a moderate weight pack (about 80 pounds), and set out on a short hike (10.85 miles).  It was the perfect day to be outside, clear skies and mild temps.   I saw quite a few armidillos and lots of turkey and deer.  After hiking to a more remote area, I started setting up the stoves so that I could take the pictures that I was wanting in a beautiful setting.  I took about 80 photos to make sure that I had what I needed.  As I was putting the gear away, I dropped my camera onto the limestone rock.  It is now in two pieces and basically totally screwed.  I do have the extended warranty on it, so if it can't be fixed I'll be getting a freee replacemnet.  Hopefully, I can apply the cost of the replacement to a better camera, since I have been considering an upgrade anyways.  But it looks like I probably won't be able to take any new pictures for a while.

On a brighter note, on my way hiking back to where my Jeep was parked, I saw a snow white deer.  I have only seen two othre albino animals in the wild. ( a skunk and a bat).  So it was kinda special to me.  And no I didn't get a picture, due to the camera being in multiple pieces.  I will be going back to the area, when I get my new camera and see if I can get a shot of the  white deer.

*** I just got off the phone with the customer care people and they said there is no chance of fixing my camera.  After talking with them I figured out that I can upgrade to a 8.3 mega pixel camera with beter zoom options for only $180 +/-.  So I'm going for that option, which means I shuld be able to take much higher quality pics.  (especially of birds)  I'm next day airing the busted camera to them on monday and should have the new one by thursday.***

My dear bloggers,
it is time for a complete update. First, the hike from Satan...
A  beautiful hike through the redwoods they said, a refreshing ocean view...

What it was... was a three and a half mile hike uphill on roots and boulders.
And the trail "ocean veiw" as they called it, was nothing but a giant mountain and some fog!

Ha!

Then... down  hill on steps, not good for knees, which hurt even now.

China town was fun ^^
got a gift for Kelly.

Also. Chopsticks
chopstick holders
and a second police encounter in less than a week. This time with big guns involved.

I will tell you the story later if you're interested.
