Licensed Vocational Nurses and Registered Nurses In Demand
Growing Medical Field Creates Demand for LVNs and RNs

Health care costs keep rising and unemployment is rising as well. Is there a way to combine these two problems to your advantage? How about becoming a Licensed Vocational Nurse or a Registered Nurse? LVNs and RNs are in-demand in the health sector. Additionally, the health sector itself has experienced continuous growth over a number of years. By becoming a part of the medical field you can establish yourself a stable and profitable career.

Responsibilities of LVNs

LVNs are responsible for basic patient care and get their training from CA Licensed Vocational Nursing schools. This can include a wide variety of duties, depending on the environment in which the LVN is working in. The most common venues for LVNs to work in are clinics or hospitals, but there are also positions available for LVNs in private home health care.

Clinic or hospital use LVNs for administering medications and tracking when the medication is given. They are also responsible for taking and recording blood pressure, body temperature, respiration rates, as well as measuring and recording height and weight. LVNs who work in home health care, are responsible for similar duties, but perform their duties after traveling to the patients’ home. Since the patients aren’t in a medical environment there is less work performing tests and collecting fluids, and more work cleaning and making patients comfortable.

RN Job Description

RNs, on the other hand, provide a much wider variety of services. The duties that a RN are allowed to perform vary from state to state (due to variances in state laws), but an RN can perform any duties that an LVN can perform. Additionally, RNs are often responsible for delegating duties among LVNs and nursing assistants.

Since RNs are responsible for a wider variety of patient care, as well as being responsible for the direction on LVNs and nursing assistants, the training necessary for becoming an RN is much more intensive. Additionally, once the training is completed, a test must be taken to certify someone as an RN. While there are more requirements to become an RN, there are compensating benefits. RNs are in high demand, and are offered excellent pay and benefits.

Stirring to Excellence
Ok, so I've come to the conclusion that throughout my 19 years, I have only met a very small number of people to whom I can associate the phrase "this person stirs me to excellence." There have been some who encourage me to excellence, but as of right now, I can only think of two, maybe three people who reallyl have this effect on me to stir me to excellence. Now, let me explain the difference between stirring and encouraging in this context. Thos who encourage me to excellence are those who with their words challenge me in who I am, they want to see me grow, and they speak into those places that need growth. they also can encourage me to excellence in the things they do, being examples to me through their actions. These people are absolutely necessary in life, and in my Christian walk, and I love to have them. They are people like my mother, some of my teacher at school, my youth pastor, my pastor's wife, and many of my friends. However, there is this minute group of people who truly stir me to excellence. Those who stir me to excellence, do it through their very presence. They do not havt to say or do anything, and they make me want to do whatever I am doing to the very best of my ability. It is an amazing thing which I do not fully understand, but whenever I am around these people, I strive to do my best and be my best. I said before that there are only two or three people who fit this description, at least that I can recall. The two that I know without a doubt stir me to excellence are my pastor and my teacher from this past semester, Bishop Turner. The third, I shall not disclose, because I have not spent enough time with her while thinking about this to be sure if she fits in this category.
When I think about this topic, and these people, I wonder: "Is that something I want my life to do?" Now, at first it seems a simple answer, however, it is more difficult a decisioin than it first appears. See, these people, iin stirring others to excellence, lose the attention of many. People are driven away because they feel intimidated and judged. I stated previously the very presence of these people is what stirs to excellence; this same presence can be overbearing to some. Do I want my life to stir some people to excellence, while losing others? It is an amazing thing to be able to bring someone to a higher level in their walk, or at least to bring someone to desire a higher level in their walk, by simply being. But is it worth it to me? Is it worth it to raise up some, while others leave feeling condemned? I absolutely love having these people in my life, and I would have it no other way, but is it for me? And that's the other question: Is that who I am supposed to be? If it is, if that's what God is bringing me into, what He has planned for me, then ok, but is it?
Hmm.... well that's my reflection for the day, and I plan on spending some time in prayer...:)

A Life of Pills and Pin Pricks

Good news!  We finally figured out what has been causing all they icky sickies in my body!  It only took 8 long mother fucking bloody cuntbag years.  Seriously debating on suing a couple of doctors back in the home area for not figuring this  problem out a lot sooner.

Bad news.  I have Type 2 diabetes.  For the next few weeks I will be living with 3 a day pin pricks to my fingers to check my blood sugar (gloucous sp?) levels and this 3 a day pin prick will either go up or down depending on how stable I can keep my blood sugars.  There will always be times where I will feel the need to check my levels.....times of great stress, a food that normally didn't affect me starts, an injury, a cold or flu.....all those lil things that I usually just ranted and raved over........now I have to watch and be mindful of.  Because diabetics are prone to infections and other complications from this disease.  They are hoping that I am what is going to be called a controlled diabetic.  Meaning for now no insulin shots......they want to try and control the levels with pills.  Twice a day for awhile and then I stablize and we go from there and see if I need to go up or down with medication or change medication all together.

Ready for more complications and consequences of this lovely disease?  Once your on pills to help lower my sugars (in my case) you have to start watching for LOW blood sugars.  Yes folks.  We go from monitoring and regulating high blood sugars to going well we meet our goal of lowering the blood sugars to now we need to change medications or dosage of current medication so we dont' lower it to low and throw your body in to a coma.  Which can also happen if your sugars are too high.  Now I don't know much about Type 1 aka insulin dependent diabetes.......but with Type 2.....after you start insulin shots or pills (pills in my case) you need to keep Apple Juice on hand and most likely a lovely sneakers bar.  Because if your blood sugar goes to low you have to bring it back up.  Yes, it use to be Orange Juice.  Not anymore.  I have no clue why....I will do research on that and figure it out.  And when they use to use OJ they usually had diabetics put sugar in the juice also.  NOT Anymore!  Depending on what ever juice your doctor tells you to keep on hand......NO MORE SUGAR.

On top of all those pills and pin pricks.......I get to now have a consultation with a diabetic certified nutritionist.  Oh Joy.  What Rapture.  I already know I need to stay away from lots of Carbs and that I can still eat a normal life style.......just not that much of normal.  Lots of no sugar no carb foods.  Yay we can say good bye to my Cocacola:(  diet Dr. Pepper is my diet soda of choice.  I can't stand diet coke.  The upside though.....is between this very healthy NO TASTE diet........and the pills.......I should drop a good poriton of the weight I had put on this past 8 years.  One of the first signs is that you do start to loose weight.....which between my icky sickies and ju jitsu ......I had already lost 10 lbs.  Only 60 more lbs to go!  Thank gods I look sexy as a big lady still:D

I also.....have a nice little excuse to throw at Randy my darling hubby now when he doesn't want to watch the kids while I go to the YMCA to work out!  I have diabetes!  Do you want me to get clogged artieries or have my kidney's effected!  I have to exersise 30 minutes most days now.  No ands ifs or buts about it.  This will only be a problem because I am really out of shape even with ju jitsu and I hate working out by myself.  And I freely admit I get lazy when I am depressed.  Which is also another symptom of diabetes!

Having the majorty of my friends from back home being Type 2 diabetics (NA Indians are prone to get all 3 forms of diabetes) and having my own family history of diabetes.......I know that I can live with this diesease and it not affect my life like so many ppl do let it affect theirs.    I even have had a child hood friend that had Type 1 growing up and now is in his early 30s.......He did everything he has pretty much wanted to do minus going into the military.  He took insulin shots as a child and teenager and as an adult he has been fitted for an insulin shot.  He was a bouncer, a bull rider/bronc rider, rode motorcycles, couldn't really play a lot of sports becuase of how funky his levels were, but he ran track to get his exersies) and lifted weights.  Unlike most of the diabetics that are from my home area........he has no choice but to follow his doctor's and dietian's directions on his food and insulin intake.  In fact.......as more doctors and scientiest research diabetes.....they are finding....that the majority of the ppl out in the world with diagonoised diabetes do NOT follow their doctor's directions or monitor their food intake or exersise.

I am going to take a page from my friend with Type 1 diabetes book..........and do what the doctors tell me.  No matter how much I hate it or how much it will change not only my life but my families.  Like my mother has freely pointed out 4xs since Saturday; I have 2 children I have to live to see raised with their own families.  I do think I am still in denial though.  I didn't want to start the antibotics they put me on for the boil.........I am on two different strong antibotics to not only clear up the boil but all the infection that is running through my body or to take the pills to help my blood sugar till tomorrow.  My mom being my mom and a nurse.....lectured me and so I was a good girl and started my pill regimine tonight.  I have two more pills for the night to take.  Then I start it all over tomorrow morning with a fasting blood prick and all my pills.

The doctor also wants to pre screen both my children after we get me stablized on one medication (hopefully).

So a lil advice to those who come from the NA Indian culture's, and other cultures that diabetes runs in, and to all those with a family history of diabetes.  Watch your bodies and keep pushing the doctors even if they tell you what they did for 8 mother fucking years......its all in your head.  It isn't!  You know your bodies.  Even if your healthy and you feel healthy.  On your next physical ......as for a diabetes pre screen test!  And if you have a strong family history of diabetes or if you had gestional diabetes when pregnant.......have your children pre screened.  Diabetes in children is so much hard on them then it is on adults and has a whole new set of complications!

So today is NOT the first day of the rest of my life.......for I am already living my life.......it IS the first day of my life of pills and pin pricks!

Starseeds VERY INTERESTING
We who are 'star seeds', or 'star people' have lived in
many realities - in many planetary systems - and in higher realms as other life forms.

So here we are on third dimensional Earth, in bodies many
of us consider 'limited'.

Their connection to the mainstream systems of society -
religious, political, economic doesn't exist as they understand that
these are just systems of a program that is about to change.

Most are creative or prefer creative activities - as they
use the right side (creative side - intuitive - higher vibrational
frequency side) of the brain.

Many prefer to work only in the esoteric fields - healing,
searching for their own truths and their soul mission through studying
systems of higher wisdom - ET research - writing their biographies as
a means of clearing issues and understanding their work here and now.

They await a great awakening - event of some kind.

They know that no one has the date for us to move into
levels of higher frequency but their souls tell them that it is on the
horizon.

They are programmed to find others like themselves now, as
based on similar frequencies and predestined agendas they set up
before they came in. After all, they have done this many times before.

Sometimes these souls are called 'walk-ins' or 'wanderers'.

It is all the same as it really one soul having
multidimensional experiences.

Some starseeds can overcome feelings of longing because
they remember how to manifest realities that help them function in
physical bodies while doing their work - holding their frequency here - at  the same time.

Many starseeds feel lost and alone - become depressive and
withdrawal from society feeling that no one understands them.

Some 'leave' early' - illnesses, accidents, suicides - as
the pain of remaining here becomes too great.

Most are hampered by the limitations of a third dimensional
form.

Some souls forget that they came here with specific agendas
so they play in the emotional playground we call 3D Earth.

The need to mate and procreate is not important to them,
though opportunities do arise.

***Homosexuality seems to be high among male energies***

This is because the next evolution bring is the return of the higher frequency - called 'feminine energy's - keeping their frequencies at that higher levels.

Some starseeds trigger their souls memory gradually -
others by an event in 3D that suddenly occurs. It is a gradually process - as we are triggering our DNA to get their.

They soon understand their multidimensional aspects. This
is difficult as we are so complex and understand so little about
reality.

The frustrations levels and the 'need to know now' levels -
run high.
