High School Graduation @ MindSay
Alright. Anybody who actually keeps in touch with me (basically, just Carly) would know that I was set to graduate high school on 27th September. Anybody who bothers to read the dates on these entries would also know that this means I have graduated from high school.
Honestly, right now it doesn't seem like it's all that it's cracked up to be. Our graduation ceremony was...most unemotional. I cried all the way through it, and so did my friend Raghad. But we're a pair of pansies. Hardly anybody cried! It was strange...
Maybe it just doesn't feel like we've graduated because we haven't done our exams yet. See, it still hasn't hit me that we don't need to go to school anymore. It's odd, to say the least. I just feel...a little empty, that's all.
Well...shout-outs to the class of '007!! Love you all!! I know none of them are reading this, but that hardly matters...
Newest graphic that I've created:
It looks best with a white background. And I know she doesn't look dead - I turned her skin blue, but it's the first time that I've ever done it so bare with me. Anyway, l8r all.
I look forward to it immensely.
I've stopped taking my medication; I haven't swallowed my white 'happy' pill in nearly a month and a half, ever since I got my new job, and I've managed to maintain a somewhat-stable emotional being within myself. I needed hard work to keep me occupied and wear me out. Before, I had too much time to think about things, to manipulate others and belittle myself. I'm better without medication, I think, and it's helped my writing in an extraordinary manner. I am no longer an emotional train wreck when I write, like I was on my newest medication. Now, I can make a calm, clear point without letting my own personal biases to cloud the issue. It's a beautiful feeling.
I have a feeling that this summer is going to be a lot like the summer before 9th grade. It was a glorious summer here in Upstate New York, with plenty of rain and heat to make things wondrous. I have been reminiscing a lot about my childhood the last couple weeks and the summers I've been through before. This summer, I'm returning to my roots a bit, and I'm going to work on me and what it is that needs to be fixed. Hopefully, I'll be able to get everything in order before my first semester of college starts.
I know I'll do it. I have high hopes for myself after I graduate; to fail at fulfilling my ultimate desires would be, to me, absolutely unbearable.

well today was the last day of my freshman year at EHS. it didn't even feel like it. it just felt like we were going on spring break or something you know? not really THE LAST DAY of school.
we were talking about this in english and we came to the conclusion that it's because we don't have yearbooks. in jr. high we all got our yearbooks in 1st hour and everybody just went around and signed them like a normal day only there aren't any assignments. but not this year. the way my high school does the whole yearbook thing is total crap. we pay for it towards the beginning of the year and we get it at the beginning of next year. like i said, total crap. i really hate it. and like, yeah sure they want to get the whole graduation thing in sure. but they can just mail that to the seniors sometime over the summer. really. having a yearbook on the last day of school and having all your friends sign it is a really big deal. well it is for me at least. i mean, i'm only going to be a freshman in high school once. it won't happen again.
plus i just really like yearbooks. that's weird i know but it's kind of a fetish for me. it's weird i know. i just think yearbooks are one of the coolest things on earth. really.
so anyways. happy summer everybody!
I haven't been on for almost four days. I hope none of you sent out any search parties.
I just wasn't really feeling like blogging for that time. I did read other people blogs but just didn't feel like writing my own.
I wasn't really busy, I mean I was doing stuff, but nothing that was really important.
For a couple of days I was just moping around becasue I was feeling a little depressed, I fell better now though.
So, what's been going on in my life?
My sister, Katie graduated from high school yesturday. I wasn't able to make it, bummer.
Ummm.... I went out for Bannana splits.
This Morning had breakfast with my Aunt Rita. I had the Corn Beef Hash, it was yummy.
See, this is why I haven't blogged in a while, my life is so boring.
Thanks,
Mark

Fill this out about your SENIOR year of high school! The longer ago it was, the more fun the answers will be.
1. Who were your best friend(s)?
environgirl, Laila and Charlene C.
2.What sports did you play?
Marching Band was my sport - I was one of three DRUM MAJORS my senior year.
3. What kind of car did you drive?
I didn't have a car, but on the rare occasions that I did drive to school, my dad let me drive his 1988 300ZX.
I hated driving it because the nose of the car was so long!
4. It's Friday night, where were you?
More than likely I was performing at a football game. If we had a Saturday game or god forbid a Thursday game, I stayed at home looking at either Friday 13th the Series, Monsters or Tales from the Darkside.
5. Were you a party animal?
Nope
6. Were you considered a flirt?
Nope. When I did flirt it was such a disaster! I was so awkward and clumsy when I got around guys I liked. I've actually fallen out of a chair when I guy asked me a question. :(
7. Ever skip school?
Yes. Band was 7th period. After football season when my drum major duties were over, I would skip band if we had a substitute. Charlene, Marcia and I would go to my house and watch porn.
8. Were you a nerd?
Uh, let's see. French Honor Society, English Honor Society, Band, big glasses, no boyfriend and a facination with Star Trek TOS...yep, I have to say I was a nerd.
9. Did you get suspended/expelled?
Never! I didn't even get suspended when the teacher had to buzz the office because I was choking the hell out of some guy who had been picking on me since 2nd period. I was such a goody-two-shoes, the principal KNEW I had to be provoked beyond reason for me to grab that bastard by the throat. Of course this was before the days of Zero Tolerance.
10. Can you sing the fight song/alma mater?
I can sing them and play them on two instruments - clarinet and baritone.
11. Who was your favorite teacher?
Mrs. August! She was my English teacher and I LOOOOOVED her. Environgirl hated her! LOL!
12. Favorite class?
English and French
13. What was your school's full name?
Westbury High School
14. School mascot?
Whew, this is a long answer. My high school used to have the mascot of the Conferate Rebels. People would wave Confederate Flags and everything. The fight song used to be Dixie and the band had to play Dixie everytime the team got a touchdown. Luckily our team SUCKED ASS so the touchdowns were few and far between. When on the rare occasion when they managed to score, none of the black band members would play. By the end of junior year, I was on the student commitee to help get rid of the mascot. I was quite vocal and quite hated by a few people after a while, but my arguments were great. My points were:
1) How logical is it to have a mascot of a LOSING side of a war. Do we have high schools named after General Custer?(I still don't understand why people pick them -- like the Trojans. Our team was bad enough)
2) The majority of the football team and basketball team members are black. The crap they had to face when they visited other schools was unnecessary and in some cases dangerous! Way to take care of your students...NOT!
3) All of you who say the Stars and Bars are a symbol of Southern pride would be extremely offended if Madison High School or any other predominately black high school showed up waving red, black and green flags with fists on them.
By Senior year Johnny Reb and company were gone and were replaced with a Yosemite Sam-like character like UNLV's Running Rebels.
15. Did you go to Prom?
Yes I did. I didn't have a date until the last minute.
16. If you could go back and do it over, would you?
Absolutely NOT! I didn't even go back to visit! When I finally graduated high school I was happier than a masturbating contortionist.
17. What do you remember most about graduation?
The fact my mother wasn't talking to me that day. She always held the longest grudges against me.
18. Favorite memory of your Senior Year?
There were a few, but one of them was bonding with my fellow Drum Majors, Eyal and Ki-ki at Drum Major camp.
19. Where were you on senior skip day?
My nerdy ass was at school. LOL!
20. Did you have a job your senior year?
Yep. I did a LOT of babysitting and I worked for a real estate agent. I helped her do filing and office duties. Sometimes, I got to show people a house!
21. Where did you go most often for lunch?
The cafeteria!
22. Have you gained weight since then?
Yes.
23. What did you do after graduation?
I went straight to college.
24. When did you graduate?
1991
25. Who was your Senior prom date?
Jason
26. Are you going to your 10 year reunion?
I didn't go because it was on August 4th and I had just given birth on August 1st.
27. Who was your home room teacher?
I don't remember her name, but I can see her face as clear as day.
28. Who will repost this after you?
Most likely my pal environgirl
