Is McCain Like Kerry: Dubious Decorations to Exploit Politics?

Now I know John Kerry is not in the Presidential hunt in 2008; however when I read an interview of a fellow captive with John McCain in North Vietnam’s torture prison camp known as Hanoi Hilton, I immediately thought of the difference of what a Dem thinks of decorated hero and what real Americans think decorated heroes are.

Supporters of Kerry’s war record are those that directly served on his boat and the reports given and written by Kerry himself in which top brass read then awarded citations of valor and medals. So there are documented facts yet different interpretations of those facts exist. There is a mystery of Kerry’s discharge from the Navy itself. The thing is serious some dispute of the validity of the documentation. So even after the long delay of Kerry allowing his war record to be released, doubters of Kerry’s war record have a good foundation to doubt. Besides a true American hero does not trash his fellow military comrades directly after leaving the Service if he indeed performed the acts the disputable documentation portrays.

It is no wonder that Kerry is part of the cut-n-run crowd which is actually a disappointing huge amount of people, not just Democratic Party politicians.

So I have taken one more shot at Senator Kerry for this reason. There is man running for President in 2008 who also is Vietnam Vet and there is little mystery of his heroism during the war or after. That candidate is Republican John McCain.

There are Leftists that are trying to debunk McCain’s war record attempting to do a Left Wing version of Swift Boating. However there is little mystery in facts and the conclusions that follow as with John Kerry. After the Vietnam War, McCain did NOT jump on the “I HATE AMERICA” Left Wing gravy train to infamy as Kerry did.

I found this website that is blatantly stinging toward John McCain record as a POW throwing doubt on the veracity of McCain’s medals. It reads like the words of vets in the John Kerry mold; i.e. veterans that hate their nation and their Service. Then the site links to another person who offers his negative opinion.

The site unwittingly mentions that Colonel George “Bud” Day nursed McCain back to health after being taken as a POW.

Oops! Bud Day does NOT corroborate the website’s disdain for McCain’s heroism. READ HERE. (McCain’s military records – HERE.)

The End is in Sight!
Finally, it looks like the Writer's Strike'll be over soon!

Hopefully WGAE and WGAW will agree to the new proposals, as will the various guild boards, and we should have cause to celebrate on Monday. It'd be nice to know that Lost is going to run a full season, especially as the first two episodes have been ace.

Shame that it's probably too late for Heroes to pick up where it left off, though. Ah well.

Done, Done, Onto the Next One
Quoting Foo Fighters seemed apt for this blog.

Why?

Well, I applied for two IT jobs the other week. One of the companies got back to me last week and said that I was unsuccessful. The other one hasn't got back to me yet, but I think it's fairly certain that I didn't get that job either. Still, it would be nice to know for sure, and I could be surprised.

In other news, I bought a hoody for a pound today. Brand new. Should've been £60. TK Maxx does have its perks on rare occasions, though they are happening more frequently now Mark's buggered off. Buggered off without actually saying goodbye...not that I'd say goodbye to the fat fucker anyway, he doesn't deserve it.

Am I bitter? Nah, not really. I just don't appreciate that he took all the credit when we did all the hard work, but then that's managers for you. They all do it. Harry did it at Game, and Mark's done it here.

To keep changing the subject quickly and for no apparent reason, I'm seeing Mena tomorrow :D We're going to watch Sweeney Todd and Cloverfield, which should be fun. I've been hearing good things about Cloverfield from the US, and Sweeney Todd just has to be awesome, doesn't it? After all, it's a Tim Burton film, and I haven't seen a bad Tim Burton film yet.

Speaking of awesome, Lost Season 4 starts tonight in Americaland, so I'll be watching that tomorrow night or Saturday, I imagine. Depends on how quickly I can get hold of it. That said, I might wait until Sunday night so I can watch it with Mena, as she'll be watching it on Sky One.

On that note, I hope the writer's strike ends soon. It's been ages since I've watched any decent telly, though I should really start watching Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, as that looks pretty good. Dunno how many episodes got done pre-strike though. Not many, I'm imagining. Oh well, the quicker it ends, the quicker Heroes comes back on.

I saw Linkin Park last Thursday. They were awesome, it was a great gig to start the year off with, though because of the merchandise queues I missed half of Biffy Clyro's set ¬_¬ I also thought I'd missed the entirety of Julien-K's set, but found out later that they had to cancel their support slot, so that helped. It does help to explain why there was an hour's wait inbetween acts. Next gig I'm going to now is VAST, which is the 29th March. Yay.

Let's see, what else can I ramble on about? Living Sedative's second album isn't really doing too great. I've whored it on pretty much every forum I'm on, bar AWFF (nothing personal, but I'm never setting foot there again), and it's only garnered 3 downloads, so more promotion might be needed. Once I've finished blogging, I might jump on Facebook and see if I can finally add music onto the band's profile. If I can do that, that might help a little bit. Hopefully they liked the somewhat shakey pic of my passport that I took. Still, it's a start. Can only really rely on word of mouth, I guess.

This month saw the newest milestone in my relationship with Mena. 2 and a half years, and it still doesn't feel that long. Some days it feels longer, other days it feels shorter. This month also marked the 3rd year since Grandad passed away. I didn't dwell on it as much as I usually do, but he has been in my thoughts the past week or so. Still wondering whether I made the right choices. It's too late to change them, but I hope he forgives me for walking the path I chose. It just hurts sometimes that I never did take the chance to really say Goodbye, and that's something I think I'll be living with for a little while yet.

I think this is a good place to end the blog on. Until next time,
