Head Cold @ MindSay

My head cold is really being a snot right now and making it difficult for my to type or let alone think clearly. I slept most the day.

Here are a few pics from this weekend when we got that small snow storm.


I like the movement in these pictures. Obviously they were taken from inside the car as we were moving along.


Some people are not that smart. Tailgating a snow plow is a key that you aren't the brightest star in the sky.


I just like this. Yup.

Now to get back to drawing and trying to get better.

I haven't been feeling too hot lately.  Last night I slept terribly - waking up frequently with the entire right side of my face congested and nasal passages blocked.  Yuck.  I thought about taking a decongestant before I went to bed, and didn't and totally paid the price for it.  So I was so excited to take the 12 hour decon when I woke up.  And of course the frequent honking of my shnoz to get the junk out led to cries of "Mommy! Stop! It's too loud!"  Feeling headachey, not being able to breathe, tired of being hung on and jumped on, and looking at the mess of stuff around the house, I fell into full on self pity party mode.  Bonus points to Shiny for putting up with me.

So he took Av out for the afternoon so that I could get things together.  I finally took all the boxes of clothes that we'd gotten together and inherited from friends out to the car so I could drop it off at Goodwill - about 5 total.  I also took two boxes of dishes that we received as a wedding gift from Shiny's grandparents.  These dishes were the source of many conversations between me and Shiny's mom.  I was initially told that they were Grandma's nice china, which is why she wanted us to have them.  The boxes were sent up to us the summer of 1998 and I never opened them.  (In fact, the first time I ever did was this morning, just to make sure that there was nothing else in there with them).  I had seen a sample from Shiny Mom, so I knew what they looked like - white china with a metallic trim.  So they moved with us and sat in the closest unopened for 8 years because we didn't have room for them.  As it is, we already have two full sets of dishes in our kitchen cabinets.  No room for a third. 

The subject of the dishes is one that seemed to come up a lot with Shiny Mom.  I don't even remember why.  I think it was because after Grandma passed away, and there was yet another set of dishes available or there were serving pieces - I can't recall.  But I do remember that we discussed it quite frequently.  I told her that we still hadn't opened the first set.  Shiny Mom then lays a bombshell on me - the fine china that Grandma had sent us from Florida?  Not so fine.  In fact, it came with her condo.  When I looked at it today, it is stamped on the bottom "Made in Japan / Safe from freezer to microwave to dishwasher".  Grandma didn't want to leave it behind, and so that's how it ended up with us.  All this time I had felt bad that we weren't using "the china."

Well in to the back of the car the "china" went.  I made a quick run to the CVS for decongestant (I love how you have to request it from the pharmacist directly and they make you show ID and sign a Federal register now) and then Starbucks next door for an afternoon snack since I failed to eat lunch.  I order my drink and turn around and no kidding - it's a friggin blizzard outside!  Big fat snow flakes falling hard and fast.  Me without my coat and gloves.  The poor girl next to me in line was just in sweats and flip flops.  I dash for the car and make a quick stop at home to get my coat and gloves.  Visibility was very poor for the round the corner drive, yet by the time I get to the house, the sun is shining and flurries are light.  Once at Goodwill, the same, and the flurries are barely visible.  Strange.  I loop back around through the city to run errands - bank, gas, grocery store, and once again - big fat windy snow flakes that follow me all the way home. 

I clear out some more boxes at home and am still doing that.  Slowly, but surely we'll get the house together.  What is the time limit on unpacked boxes from a move?  The drugs kicked in pretty quickly, so I've been able to breathe.  I'll know better for tonight.  My best friend from college is coming up to DC for training, so it will be good to see her this week.  The snow has stopped.  Things will get better.

I'm getting sick......Bleh..

 

 

Well...I'm not sick as of now, but I have a headache that won't seem to go away...it started last night after the whole firealarm escapade...even with tylenol it hasn't gone away....and to maket things more pleasent...it's going to be a Head Cold....because I can't stop sneezing and sniffling today...and everytime I do that the headache get's worse...

 

Oh you cruel fates...why do you toy with me??

 

I am thinking about taking a nap right now, but I won't be so easily defeated by a silly head cold, right?

I was sick today and I didnt go to school. My head was killing me cuz my mom was telling me things I didnt exactly want to hear and istarted to cry and my eyes were puffy this morning, I hate that when it happens. But owell what can you do other than not cry. My stomach was also hurting me. Why is it that people are getting sick/colds this time of the year? I never get it. Theres some interesting things going on with my younger brother that I am not going to discuss on the blog. I am soo cold right now its like my basement is cold outside is cold every where is cold. owell. Its supposed to snow tonight and I cant wait cuz I like the snow. But I wont hope too much on it, I might jynx myself and it might not even happen. I have to start on my Broadcasting project. well I have already started but I had to redo it being that my group hated it. It has to be at least 23 minutes no more than 30. My teacher said that because there are only three people in my group now it only has to be 23 minutes less than the 30 that every one else has to have. We are aloud to have three two minute commercials and that makes our taping down from 23 minutes to like 17 minutes. I still need to add more stuff to the script becuase we only have 17 minutes with the commercials. so we need more. Like 6 minutes more and I really dont know what else to add. We are taping on tuesday so I have the weekend. Well I will go for now

i am so tired. i went shopping with a friend all day yesturday and we got back to her house at about twelve and once i got there i passed out. then at about six this morning her dog woke me up and she was already awake so i got up even though i wanted to sleep oh so very much longer. i think that i have a cold. my head hurts but that could be caused from lack of sleep so im not just to sure. i havent talked to dalton since the eighteenth. which seems like forever to me. i am sore from working out. but other than that things are great.
