Guinea Pig @ MindSay
I'll have more kitten photos this week soon. For now I thought I should introduce another one of our family members.

This is Othello. Savannah's schoolmate's guinea pig had babies and we ended up getting one. We named him for his colors; black and white. We call him Otho as a nickname.

He is very sweet but in need of taming. So everyday we try to handle him as much as possible. He just loves to talk.
In case you are wondering why my posts have been few and far between I have been busy working on the house. I should have pictures of that soon enough but I'm waiting for a few things to fall into place before I do. (Some of you already know what I'm up to.)
Bwahahaa!
HIP HIP HOORAY!!!
I’m back home after doing my last shift for the week. Probably came at the right time seeing as I’ve been sleeping in till I only have half an hour to get ready and leave for work most of all this week. It really is a killer having to get to work for a job that starts at 7.30 in the morning. For the past couple of days now after having eaten lunch I’ve gone straight to bed and slept through to 4 and then still been tired and groggy when I’ve got up. And on Monday and Tuesday I had to walk/jog the 5 miles back home as I had no one to drive me home, which isn’t to bad really as I enjoy that sorta thing but my elbows were so painful. Probably due to being exposed to the chill.
Anyways, I’m off now till Monday and I plan on making the most of it.
So let’s bring you up to speed with what I’ve been up to recently and other happenings in my life.
On Wednesday I attended and successfully passed a first interview for a manager’s job. I am still waiting to hear when my second interview will be, if I haven’t heard by Monday I shall ring them as I can’t afford to let this sort of opportunity pass me by seeing as there will be lots more hours than my present job, a higher hourly rate, more responsibilities and as such it is good experience for a man who is only 20 if I pass the second interview, which the woman who interviewed me on Wednesday felt that I should. So all in all that sounds good. Also the application forms for the CSI jobs arrived that day. I began filling out the form for the mortuary position last night and plan on having it and the clerical assistant done for Monday. The closing date for these is this coming Friday, the reporting forensic scientist closes a week later so I have more time to get that one ready and can put it to the back for the moment. Incidentally, no news on my application to study forensics at University.
Talking of jobs in yesterday’s newspapers a few more jobs have come along that I shall be applying for. Three of them are rather minor roles and the other is to offer myself up as a human guinea pig for a drug trial which would pay me all the money I need to go to America this summer.
I feel that my motivation for work is not the greed of having the money but the opportunities and experiences that the money can provide by opening the doors that are otherwise locked without it. This notion sometimes niggles at me. My late Uncle and Father have both said things to me along the lines of that, “If spending money gives you pleasure at the time then it is not wasted” and “There is no point having money sitting in the bank if you can not enjoy it”. In actual fact this reminds me of another piece of advice a teacher once gave, “Don’t save for rainy days, you may never live to see those days”.
So yeah, enough talk of money and mention that I might be giving some of my time to become a Samaritan. I’ve wanted to give time to a voluntary course for a while and this has always appealed to me. Perhaps this is it?
On to something else now, TELEVISION! Now I haven’t watched regular television like I feel I have been doing recently now for sometime. I always tended during High School to go to bed early and study but since I’m on a year off I’ve been tending not to do that so much (going to bed early now is needed though due to job) and I have to say that I’m really enjoying watching shows. “Lost” season 1 has just finished showing over here in the UK and we’re getting the next season in the spring time and it’s slot on Channel 4 is being replaced by the second season of “Desperate Housewives” which I plan on watching even though I did not watch the first season (time to buy a new DVD me thinks). Then there is new CSI style show “Bones” on Thursday night which I caught on it’s pilot night this Thursday night gone and really enjoyed that. I think it will provide the character stories that I feel aren’t developed in CSI and provide the forensic science/crime scene science as well. Though will this be good when only restricted to anthropology time can only tell? Then there’s “My Name is Earl” and “Invasion” which both just started in the past couple of weeks and are good.
Arrrg long entry today!
In other news my brother is a cause for concern because I believe his girlfriend to have a bun in the oven. Now I only have my suspicions and nothing in fact though my suspicions do have their grounds. He has made these statements recently, which alone would seem harmless enough but put together I cannot help but raise a very alarmed eyebrow. He has said the following: “Heidi and I were in Boots looking at nappies, we thought they were cute”, “What would you think if Heidi was pregnant?” and “There was a baby on the bus today, it was so cute”. Well, until more is said or revealed that is all I have to say on this, though I will up-date on it if I am to become “Uncle Stephen”. Though it could be that she is not pregnant at all and in actual fact my brother is having trouble with his equipment, as he was interested in knowing the male family history with regards such dysfunction, i.e., has there ever been anyone in the family with it? The answer apparently a big “NO”. It could be linked with his diabetes and lack of sleep. Anyways, all men reading this, there is no shame in seeking medical help.
Oki dockie, so yeah, that’s all about it for the moment. I’m off to make lunch, play a round of golf and to fill out more forms.
I love you all, especially my girlfriend who I can’t love enough.
Long days and pleasant nights,
Stephen
