Grooming @ MindSay
As if we women don't have enough to worry about! Thanks to the easy accessiblity of porn, we women are now almost overly concerned with the grooming of our nether regions!
Marilyn Monroe made sure her curtains matched her drapes. Most women at least trim the hedges and some of us just throw caution to the wind and take a Brazillian approach. Some women compromise and leave a little reminder that they've actually reached puberty and leave a little racing stripe.
When you think about it, this type of upkeep is a bit ridiculous. Since the beginning of time, men have been facinated with women's feminine cores. They've never seemed to mind risking the possiblity of getting tangled in it's wild yet beguilling clutches. This is why I was a bit taken aback by an admission made by a friend of mine who was telling me about his new girlfriend. He told me that she was smart, beautiful, self-reliant and easy to talk to. He said he liked the fact that she was a size 16 and not another liposuctioned, over aerobicised, fembot. I was thrilled. "Finally!" I thought. "He's hit the jackpot." Then he went on to say, "The only thing that bother's me is well, she's um...all natural down there."
"Well, I certainly hope so!" I replied, "You wouldn't want that to be fake would you?"
"No," he said. She doesn't really trim the hedges. I kinda prefer it to be clean shaven."
"Considering the fact that it is her vagina, don't you think that's really up to her?"
"Yeah, but, I don't know. I was just wondering if there was a way I could bring it up without offending her."
"Well damn, man! Does it bother you enough to keep you from having sex with her?"
"No."
"Case closed."
So, is there a way to for him to bring the issue up without him looking like a tool? Don't get me wrong, I'm being completely hypocritical because I've fallen into the grooming trap myself. I won't get into graphic details, but I will say....nahh, nevermind.
A little red cardinal is sitting on my porch and that brings a smile to my face. The move went down Tues...I can't say without a hitch, but it was fairly smooth. It took longer than I expected, but I guess its a little more confusing when some of our stuff was going to storage and some to the apartment.
My barter company has really turned into a huge blessing...the whole cost was deducted from my account, not cash. I did tip the 3 of them cash tho. Can't really complain there. I just wanted it to be a little less stressful on my husband and it really wasnt...he didnt finish doing what he needed to do until 9 that night. and he had to leave for his next trip out by 11:30 pm. He got only 1/2 hour sleep :( He said when he got to North Carolina he was able to nap, but that is not the same, as his truck does not have a sleeper.
The next day, I was sore and very tired..the dogs were sore and tired, they havent spent that much time outdoors since we camped last summer!! Poh hunnies. I actually found a mobile pet groomer and they came yesterday to bath and clip nails on both doggies.. they smell so good, and they look like she took off 50 lbs of fur!!! Yay..less on my carpet.... :)
We have a path thru the living room.. that is pretty much clutter free. The laundry room is bearing the brunt of it currently....I may have some friends coming over to unpack my kitchen for me.... hopefully today!!!
How am I doing? Well, good question... it has been pretty hard not to do much.. But I think I have done a good job at restraining myself.... my opinion anyhow... I think others are disagreeing with me. I rarely have any pain in my back area, most pain is down my left side. I can bear a little pressure on my left foot now without it searing a bolt of lightening up to my butt...and one part of me is no longer numb which makes my husband relieved to hear.. .( for the future anyhow..LOL!! Currently that is closed for business) My pain level pretty much is about a 4 on a scale of 1-10 as long as I take my pain killers every 4 hours... If I miss it even by 1/2 hour, it begins to zoom up. Frankly I am sick of taking all this medicine.
Our walk thru the old house is sometime this morning, and I have a friend going to do that for me...she will REPRESENT me.. I know... when annie talks, people listen!
Ok, I am going to get something to eat, a little hungry now.
Love and Laughter,
Dawn
It's official - news to go on the news ticker at the bottom of cnn: I look better with straight hair.
I get more compliments - I look thinner, I look more professional, I look older. I'm surprised nobody's told me that I look tired cos it takes so fucking long to straighten my thick hair everytime I wash it. It's driving me mad already!
I've been straightening it for "special occassions" for ages - which pretty much means I straighten it when I can be bothered and that 'aint often. Usually, I'm gung-ho for the first 15 minutes and then my arm gets sore and tired and I get lazy - the top usually looks a little "off". Two Fridays ago I straightened it because of the Grand Final thing and kept it straight for the weekend. Then I did it again. And now, 2 weeks later, it's still being straightened every 2-3 days when I wash my hair. It takes so long - 40 minutes from wet to dry. And my right arm has muscles I've never seen before. But I'm getting compliments everyday. And, I risk sounding vain, but I'm liking it.
All this grooming we go through to look/feel good. Hair, makeup, clothes, gym, diet etc. All this energy - surely it could be better used saving the world. But would we look good doing it?
Update: I hope people don't think I posted this to get compliments ... I mean, I like compliments as much as the next person but hey! I'm not that vain to post for them!
It's funny I like blog 4 or 5 times a day at work but when I am home I barely put a word up. (WORDUP)
And I am usually online or the computer is on just sitting there. Lately though since it is summer I am turning it off and leaving it off. Myroom gets too hot it to be on all the time not to mention my room is next to the water heater. For whatever reason that heats up my room as well. I swear! When you stand just inside my door you can feel the heat coming from the floor. Great for Winter SUCKS for summer.
Welp anyway Tonight I felt like blogging a bit about how I spend my Sunday nights. For whatever reason it is the major grooming night. The rest are rushed groom nothing special washing, powdering, setting the hair. But on Sunday (or atleast every few weeks) the Sunday will involve waxing. Yes as you know some of us women will go through self torture otherwise known as "At Home Waxing".
It made me think of all the things women do to seperate themselves from the men. The scrubbing, the brushing, the moisterising the perfuming the waxing the plucking the shaving the powdering the makeuping...
AND ALL YOU GUYS HAVE TO DO TO IMPRESS THE HELL OUT OF US IS BE CLEAN AND SMELL GOOD!
fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck!
ok going to sleep now. Love to all, women!
Just finished watching the NASCAR Nextel cup race, The Batman Begin's 400. Winner of that race, Greg Biffle # 16 Roush racing. Congrats to him and his team. Dale Jr. finished 17th.
Other then all that, I mowed the lawn eailer before the race, washed my hair, and shaved. It's been an ok day so far. Now the boring part begins. From now until I go to bed. Nothing really to watch, I'll have to search for something. Nothing really to do.
