So on Saturday I went to a card making workshop (I don't really think it constitutes a workshop, but I believe that was what it was called) with my mom and grandma. It was actually pretty fun. The woman "leading" it didn't really teach anything, there were just examples sitting on the tables. This frustrated my mom and grandma, but I figured it out pretty quick and had a decent time. Thought I'd share some of my work... hehe.

I didn't really like this one that much... but I liked it better when it was done than when I was working on it.

This one is for when one of my girl friends gets engaged... should be anytime now.

Different version of the same card. It's pretty neat... the little white thing dangles and twists and turns.

This one is super cool. The little snowman head rolls in the opening of the front of the card (which you can't really see) so it rolls back and forth. It's pretty neat.

No plan for this one in particular, although I really like the way it turned out.

I altered the card design a little bit... this is for my dad's birthday!

I think this last one is my favorite. It looked soooo hard to do. Because that strip with the leaves on it and the green and yellow strip looks like it comes that way, but actually began as a white glossy piece of paper. First we had to stamp the leaf design on there, then outline the leaves with a crayon, then put the ink on there in a design, then wipe off the crayon and voila. I thought it looked really nice. I'm sending that one to my girl friend who's been helping me through the past couple of weeks, even if it's been from 4 hours away. I'm also planning on sending the same card without the white writing on the outside (so just blank) to Pete's mom.
It was a pretty good time. I'm kind of proud even though anyone could do it. Whatever puts a smile on my face, even if only for a minute or two, is a good thing right now.
