The Missionary
The Missionary -- by Dobie *

Submit to me and make your pleasures whirl
And glisten like the dew within your garden.
And I shall see your lotus flower unfurl
Upon the standard bearer of my pride.

What have I here?
What have we here to hide?
And what are we to fear?
Is it the piercing of the shadow?

Can we each ease into this satin of the night?
And smooth into the lilac of your skin?
Until the soothing breaks itself to light
And cools his sheathing on the dawning wind.

For who resists the soldier and his lance?
And least of all, the maid with tickled lyre.
For she cannot escape her fate nor chance
And shall succumb to passion's earthy fire.

Come be with me and won't your pleasures whirl
And glisten like the dew within your garden.
We each shall see your lotus flower unfurl
On this, the standard bearer of my pride.

Fodder for a Wing

A poet comes along.

Though moments dwindle few,

He draws himself a song

And sings himself to you

And tends upon what’s wrong

With fodder for a wing

And lyrics for the dawn

For morning birds to sing

And sweet the light shall bring

A chorus  and the writ

And grace is far between

What pendulum and pit

But poet comes along

To stand between the two

And draws yourself a song

And sings yourself to you

And fodder for your wing

And night shall find you free

Swung out upon a dream

And shining over me

In muses for the pine

All sparkled up with thyme

‘Til daylight wonders why

The morning birds do sigh

Nothing

if I believe that nothing's there,

is nothing there?

or do I know?

is the nothing

wont of nothing

for to make the nothing grow?

like the flower

in the garden

not a soul did have to seed.

for to find her

springing lovely

'midst the roses and the weeds?

praises high

to all of nothing

keeps the lovely strong and free

and their angels

singing nothing

heralds nothing we can't see.

let's believe that nothing's there

for it keeps

a mind at ease

and the nothing of my soul

brings me prayerful

to my knees.

And if nothing's always there

is it there?

And do I know

if the nothing's

wont of nothing

And, if no, who tells me so?

Earn This
*Earn This

how well have we earned?

how long, though we try,

have we felt each whisper

and burned through each sigh?

and how many suns set

with life still at bay

with rivers so journeyed

and journeyed away?

what of the fair soldier

not waking to dream?

still there as a trooper

but lost to the seams.

what debt that we owe him

enjoyed in sweet breath

can pleasant him forward

this life to the next?

and then, have we earned

and, oh, have we tried

to feel us each whisper

that burns through each sigh?
