Hey all, well Thanks to a ride to the airport from Torridgirl I made my flight to Arizona to hook up with my friends Ryan and Nancy They are kind enough to host me every year since they moved to Chandler. Well my flight landed at 11pm and we stayed up to watch The Daily Show and the Colbert Report, we finally turned in at around 1:30am. This morning (or rather after noon we went for breakfast/lunch). The place is called Mimi's and we go their every time I visit. The food is delicious, and our server (a seemingly 12 year old girl named Afton) was very polite. Ryan had the Chipotle Burrito with Chicken instead of beef, it had a tomato-basil flour tortilla. Nancy had the Cajun Chicken Sausage and Eggs Over-easy and yours truly had the Butternut Squash Ravioli with seared Scallops, and it was Divine! < We are heading out to see some of Chandler, AZ today and then driving to the Grand Canyon tonight! Two self-styled vigilantes against typos who defaced a more than 60-year-old, hand-painted sign at Grand Canyon National Park were sentenced to probation and banned from national parks for a year.
Jeff Deck and Benjamin Herson pleaded guilty August 11 for the damage done March 28 at the park's Desert View Watchtower. The sign was made by Mary Elizabeth Jane Colter, the architect who designed the rustic 1930s watchtower and other Grand Canyon-area landmarks.
Deck and Herson, both 28, toured the United States this spring, wiping out errors on government and private signs. They were interviewed by NPR and the Chicago Tribune, which called them "a pair of Kerouacs armed with Sharpies and erasers and righteous indignation."
An affidavit by National Park Service agent Christopher A. Smith said investigators learned of the vandalism from an Internet site operated by Deck on behalf of the Typo Eradication Advancement League.
The misspelled word "emense" was not fixed, Deck wrote, because "I was reluctant to disfigure the sign any further. ... Still, I think I shall be haunted by that perversity, emense, in my train-whistle-blighted dreams tonight."

Next time I am staying longer and I am going to actually plan something of substance with JosieJunk and Myclette and Torridgirl will definetely be in the house along with the roomies! We are gonna have an all out Grand experience if I have to drag everyone kicking and screaming! LOL!

Howdy Howdy all! well I had a uhm well, Grand time at the Grand Canyon over the weekend and then had to get right back to the grind on Monday so this post is a bit late. Anyway, the flight there was a bit rough to say the least. I riding in a bus with wings and about a crew of 50 including the flight crew! Sure it was a nonstop express flight and sure Continental at least assigns your seat and feeds you but good Gouda! Every time someone sneezed or shifted in their seat we experienced turbulent type conditions in that time horse and carriage affair. Anyway I racked up some tasty sky miles and had a great trip to boot.
I dont plan. I dont. I am terrible about just living life by the seat of my pants and my poor friends indulge me on a level you wouldnt believe. Thanks ya'll! I finally caught up with josiejunk after a game of phone tag. We met at Dave and Busters where we had food and laughs for miles! okay now Josie is so hilarious which more than made up for the fact that I was a bit off my game (I had not slept for about 28 hours by the time we met her for dinner---what can I say I was so excited about my trip I couldnt sleep). Okay so we order our food and dessert comes around. I decide to order the POWDERED SUGAR DOUGH-NUT HOLES. Josie leans over and asks me:
"hey, did you order the powdered sugar holes?"
as you can imagine, shenanigans ensued! Culminating in the promise that Me, Ryan and Nancy would shout the phrase from at the Grand Canyon in an effort to echo and appease the Dessert Gods.... Here is a slide show

Howdy Howdy all! Well I bought my ticket and will be off to CONQUER the Grand Canyon once again. That's right I said it, Conquer! LOL! Well I bought my ticket at Continental.com last night and will be enjoying 3 days and 2 nights with my friends Ryan and Nancy In January. They were so great last time I was there we had a blast when they visited here in October! You remember my last trip to the Grand Canyon right. Here is a refresher, just in case.
