Good Night @ MindSay

The daytime of the night!
I am addicted to Flight of the Conchords. The following is my favorite song. I'd love to see this show live. Enjoy it with me. *giggles* "What a hiliarious misunderstanding!"

Meanwhile, I am enjoying life, spending the night with my nephews, watching movies, went fishing, just having some time. It's good to be surrounded by their love and laughter. Do you know how that feels? I hope so. Because it does the heart good. May even increase your lifespan. Let somebody love you today and hug yourself for me.

"I'm not locked in here with you! You're locked in here with ME!"
The last two days have been good so far, I've enjoyed them quite a lot! I'm keeping up a good mood, so that's always a plus, but I'm pretty tired right now. I guess I'll start from the beginning since I have no idea how to start this thing. I've been trying to sleep more lately, and it's kind of working out well, although I still am staying up kind of late. Yesterday after class was over, I called up a few of my buddies Michael and Erik (Michael also brought along his friend Evan), and we decided we wanted to go to a different part of downtown called Atlantic Station to get some food, maybe check out a few stores and catch Watchmen. Erik and I were chilling out in my room for an hour or two before the other two were ready to go, so we played some Rock Band and talked about music and stuff, it was fun. Once Michael and Evan arrived, we decided to walk to Atlantic Station, and we somehow managed to take this super sketch route there, it was kind of creepy, but we eventually found the way we normally take, and got their safe.

Once we got there, we walked around a couple of minutes to see where we could eat, and decided to eat some Moe's, the first GOOD food I've had all week. It was nice, I've been craving some Mexican for a while, and I got my fix. It was nice talking at the restaurant, because both Michael and Erik are going to be my roommates next year (along with my current one Nathan), and we were talking about our plans for next year and what stuff was like back home (I'm the only one who is from Georgia in our room). Afterward, we went to the theater to see what time we could get tickets, and once we grabbed our tickets we had about an hour and a half to kill, so we walked to the Target that is really close by, and grabbed a few things. I decided to buy the Watchmen comic, just because I used to be obsessed with comic books, and I hear it's fantastically written.

When we got back to the theater, we had to wait in a line right outside of our designated theater, and there were some people handing out surveys for the movie from the producers of Watchmen. They told us to fill out what we could, and then fill out the rest after the movie was over. Once we were let in the theater, we got really good seats, and I really, really liked the movie! I never read the comic before, so I personally thought it was an awesome movie, but a lot of the comic book fans didn't like it as much. I guess I need to read the comic book to see it from their perspective. It wasn't the best movie I've ever seen, but I guess I didn't have super high expectations and it lived up to my personal standards of a good movie. :P By the end, you could hear people quoting the movie like crazy, and it was the typical movie experience. Watchmen is the first movie I've seen a while that really, really earned it's R rating. it was pushing the boundaries, and graphic as hell, but I loved that part of it. It wasn't afraid to depict the comic well. The screenplay was also very well done for a three hour movie. It is hard to depict a huge graphic novel into a few hours, and I thought it was well put together (By one of my favorite voice actors of all time David Hayter! Metal Gear Solid owns! :D).

By the time we walked back, Nathan was back from visiting his girlfriend (It was almost 2 in the morning), and he was watching some old episodes of Lost from my massive DVD collection. We watched a few episodes and then went to bed around 3:30-4:00. I wanted to sleep in this morning, but I didn't really get the chance, my friends Jenni and Meghan kept calling me to go see Watchmen with them, and I finally cracked and got out of bed around 11:30-11:45. I ended up walking all the way across campus, only to learn we missed the shuttle out to Atlantic Station, and I had to lead the walk down there, again! I've walked 4 or 5 miles within the last day! Good for my health! We ate lunch down there, and I saw the movie again. It's a good movie, I just can't sit in the theater 6 hours within a 18 or so hour period. Afterward, we walked back to campus, I ate dinner with a bunch of friends, and I'm back in the room. I think I'm going to take it easy the rest of the night, try to get to bed a little early, although I had some coffee to keep me awake. I'm just glad I'm in a good mood, and I think it's going to hold for a while, I just gotta keep positive! :]

Hope I hear from more of you mindsayers soon!

"I'm so much better now that I'm far from you"
I had a pretty fantastic night. While I didn't end up going further downtown to catch a movie and eat, I still ended up having a good time. I went down to the campus radio station because my friends called me telling me they had a surprise there. I had no idea what to expect, so I ended up going, and lo and behold, my friend Cameron came and surprised me! Man, I miss that kid, it's always a pleasure to see him! We caught up some, talked about recent troubles and all that jazz, and I showed him around campus a bit since I had to run back to the dorm to pick up my laptop.

This was the second time I have been to the radio station on campus to see my friend Derek spin, and this time was way cooler because I got to sit in the actual room where all the action goes on. Later on more of my buddies came by to see the show, and I got some monster bear hugs in for the night. It was nice to finally do something different from the norm, and I was in the station from about 9 PM to 1:30 AM. After I said bye to everyone who came to visit from back home (Cam wasn't the only one, but he's the one I know out of the group that came) I went and hung out with my friends David and Jenni and we got some food. It was a good time, it kind of sucked I had to head back to the dorm, as Jenni wanted me to crash at her place, but I really have a lot to do before the weekend ends.

The only bad part of the night was the 20-25 minute walk across campus back to my dorm. It was FREEZING ouside. It's forecasted to snow here in Georgia within the next 8 or 9 hours, and I walked back in the rain, while it is about 35 degrees outside! My hands are killing me and I'm shaking because I'm still feeling the cold! At least I changed into dry clothes once I got back! While I am feeling kind of miserable on the outside, I had a really nice night, and am pretty happy! If you can't tell what my title is about, it's about past events that have resurfaced recently, and taking a more positive light to the situation.

And on a random note, my new and amazing friend monkeycookie will be happy to know I ate more than usual, and got a fairly healthy diet in today! I ate plenty of salad with my dinner, and had fruit for dessert. :] I know it's random, but just felt the need to throw that in there! Have a good day everyone! It seems like everyone is really busy lately! I hope I see more updates all around!

Putting everything back into place
Okay, thus far, I think I am doing a good job at bringing my grades back up. Both of my french tests have gone exceedingly well, and my humane essay went well. Actually, so did my Calculus test. I'm a little nervous about my upcoming physics test, but I think I'll be okay if I do a good amount of studying. And I hate my Global issues class. I want my goddamn photography elective back.

Also: For anyone who actually cares, I got up a ton of stuff to my deviant art page in January, and I've added a couple of others things since January as well. I'd be mighty obliged if y'all would go and take a look and tell me what you think.

I had him over at my house last night. It may not have been a very eventful night, but everything just felt better because he was there, you know? It is amazing what one person can do for you. Seriously. He just... lifts me up. I do not know what I would do without him, and we are not even an official item yet.
