Busted my glasses
I broke my glasses today. I dropped them and the ear piece thingy broke off. I took them into get fixed and was told it couldn't be done.
So, now I've got them taped up all dorky like 'til Monday when I can get my eyes checked and get new ones.
Which sucks because I really don't wanna spend the money and because I'm going to Detroit on Saturday for my brother's Graduation. I'll be looking all nerdy and stuff. oh well I usually look nerdy anyways so a little more nerdiness won't hurt. And besides I'd rather look kind of dorky then not be able to see.
Anyways, I've decided I'm gonna go for a little different but I don't know what that style will be exactly.

Mark

[Update: It turns out I won't be going to Detroit because I have to watch the shoe store that day and I also won't be able to get a ride up there so I rescheduled and will be geting my glasses sooner then I thought]

Blog 10. [Depressed] --- Not much can be said.

Depressed Smiley

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm not happy today.

The day has gone by so slowly.

How I despise Mondays.

The only good thing about today was that my Science teacher wasn't in.

As a result, I only did one question, and spent the rest of the lesson talking with Nazia.

I AM SO SICK OF THEORETICAL YIELD.

It's more Maths than anything.

And I HATE Maths.

Screw Maths up the backside with a calculator.

I don't need to be doing Maths in SCIENCE.

Leave me alone, you poxy numbers.

From the end of first lesson, to before I left the library - I had a safety-pin stuck in my glasses.

I clipped it round the right branch, next to my eyebrow.

Eighteen people commented.

I did it for the pure crack.

I wanted to see how many people would notice.

Nazia found it really funny.

My Maths teacher was confused.

My Geography teacher was bewildered.

Our librarian smiled at me - as she always does.

I didn't smile back.

I'm not in the mood to smile today.

I'm sick of people using my weaknesses against me.

So sick of being ignored.

So sick of being left alone.

So sick of people rubbing how good their lives are in my face.

Sick of the preps talking about insignificant matters.

The world is a terrible place - awful things are happening. Nobody cares.

I miss Emily.

I need her back.

Entry 9. [Jealous] --- Making a SPECTACLE of yourself!

Jealous Smiley

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This blog is for my fellow bespectacled counterparts. Smiley

All of the specky, visually impaired, short-sighted, blind-as-a-bat, four-eyed geeks like myself.

All of those with 20/20 vision, or contact lenses - you won't understand. Smiley

Of course, wearing glasses gives you the impression that you're intelligent.

The nerds of the world spend their time sat at computers, reading books, playing video games - our eyes are damaged, so we're forced to wear these discs of refracting glass on our faces.

And, there's the bonus of being able to look straight ahead in a blizzard or gale - and not having to squint.

But then, there's the walking in the rain.

- Glasses don't come with windscreen wipers, and they SHOULD.

There's the swimming.

- It's pretty damn impossible to see the other side of the pool without them, for most, so stay out of our lane.

There's the general rough and tumble of the day.

- I've had mine knocked off my face by about four different clumsy people now.

The first one happened the day after I got them!

And of course, you'd have to remove them in a mosh pit.

I've knocked mine off myself many a time by forgetting to take them off before I slammed on a bit of Rammstein.

But don't forget - the worst possible thing about glasses...

LOSING THEM ON YOUR HEAD.

Seriously!

The world all laugh - when we're looking for them, they're balanced on our head.

"Where are they?" - we wail.

"I can't see without them!" - we panic.

Eventually, we're told that they're on our head.

And that's when you feel like an idiot - and you may even blush.

Mine steam up when I blush.

As well as coming in from the cold weather outside - there! Another downside! Steaming up!

For all of you non-bespectacled people...

When they're on our head... We don't feel them!

They're very light. They're designed to be.

They're comfortable too - they get fitted to the shape of our heads.

It's just like when you're wearing a cap, or a hairband. You don't realise it's there after a while.

Spare us the humiliation and the panic, two-eyed people of the world.

Just tell us where they are, please.

"Hmmm... I don't know! Where DID I put them...?"

Fog and Ice
Despite having worn contacts since the age of sixteen (I started wearing glasses in the second grade), my first instinct when I come in from the cold, cheeks glowing and face just beginning to hurt from the icy wind, and am enveloped in a warm embrace of 'room temperature' - my first instinct is to reach up and take off my glasses so that I can clear the fog off.

That being said, it is a lovely, chilly day. I am personally in favor of finding a friend, and as hooky-playing conspirators, we will dash off laughing, and hike around and play outside until our buns freeze, or the sun goes down - whichever happens first.

Winter's not my favorite season, but I do most definitely appreciate it. :D
