Security Level: Low (Public / Everybody)
First of all, I would like to thank all of you who sent us Texas MindSayers (Houston / Galveston area) your best wishes, prayers, and cooties!! Much love to all of you! And special thanks to
Jayme and
James for keeping the rest of MindSay updated with our situation here.
Second, here's my aftermath report of every MindSayers in the Houston / Galveston area that I know and heard from. We're all alive, which I am very thankful for. Here's the report:
- Uyoku - A-OK. Still no power at home, but she's currently at work. I love you babe!
- Eduardo - I don't know. He's probably Vegas anyway.
- Myclette - A-OK. Last I heard from her, they were having water issues... call me!
- Torridgirl - A-OK, according to Jayme's blog
- Environgirl - A-OK, according to Jayme's blog
- WhatEthelsays - A-OK, now blogging her experiences
- Zzl - A-OK, their power is restored.
- d7prez - Please update me...
- Bellavista - I'm sure they're A-OK, I'll check her MySpace.
- Tellagurl - I'm sure they're A-OK, I'll check her MySpace as well.
I might be wrong, so check their blogs for me.
Lastly, I'm A-OK and ready to live my normal daily life (and blogging activities) soon. My house still does not have electricity, but we have water. I'm currently at my
Uncle's house in the
Stafford / Missouri City edge charging my mobile phones (Sprint / Boost Mobile) and my laptop. My Sprint phone is still lacking services, I'm not sure when I can use my phone again, but Roaming just doesn't cut it. I also need to hunt down some gas, which has become difficult for me because my car only takes Premium, which is almost unavailable anywhere. I need to find me some cigarettes.
It is a sunny Sunday afternoon here in
Missouri City. I need to get back on my hunt for fuel and home restoration, clean-up, and beyond.
Later on, or probably tomorrow, when I get a chance, I'll be typing up my Ike experiences (home damages, sweaty boxers, candlelight dinners with mosquitoes and damage pictures. This is my actual first time getting a direct hurricane hit. And we're only at the "I's". And we have a few more North Atlantic storms to go.
I work tomorrow, regular schedule. But I know, there's nothing regular about the roads tomorrow, as everyone will have to adjust back slowly to Ike's aftermath. Some streets are still flooded and some intersections have lights that are either flashing or they don't work (some are dangling).
Though I am at a place right now with electricity, airconditioning, and internet; I need to get back home, where restoration needs to be done. Once I find a place where I can get fuel, which I'm sure will have a line for the pump, I will "RICKROLL" the whole GAS Station! And I might video it, too!
Needless to say, I won't be able respond to your comments and replies just yet. But I promise I'll get to them soon. Please don't be mad at me.
Much LOVE, MindSay! And thank you, all of you, whether you care or not! I'm just happy that I'll be back with y'all soon.
p.s. Also, a special thanks to PussyPatter, for the awesome email. Now this MindSay user received a direct Cat. 5 hit from Rita, and knows what we are going through here. Here's to you, Wendy! *pat pat*
