Fun Times @ MindSay
Ok sooo Last night I went to my schools semi-formal (the theme was a Frosted Affair) with chris. I mosly hung out with his friends cimone, jamie, cora, neil, deboer and then my best friend stef (who is pete deboers girlfriend).
We got there around 6 which was just the Symposium (sp?).
Then at 7 it was time to eat. But unfortunatly for us we were one of the last tables to be let go to the buffet! And this was a table of 4 very hungry guys lol. So they guys ate alot for about an hour.
At 8 the dance started. This was the part basically all the guys had been dreading hahaha. Stef went and danced right away and after about 2 slow songs and 3 fast songs she made me come and dance to Shake That by Eminem lol. After that I sat down again but soon enough it was chris making me dance. The guys call 'grinding', ass rubbing lmao. We only danced to 1 slow song (Big Girls Dont Cry - Fergie). Chris would have prefered slow dancing but what can you do eh?
At 10:30 we decided we'd all had enough, so we went to Tim Hortons and got more caffiene. They guys had gotten like 6 pops at semi.
All in all we had lots of fun. ohh and Chris got me a corsage (so?) for my wrist. I found that cute:). Chris was acctualy surprised that he'd enjoyed the dancing...so I may make him come to a westgate school dance in the new year ;).
Anyways today is the last day of school so Im bringing all my x-mas gifts for my friends :). Ohhh and tomorrow is my 15th birthday!!! Im excited. lol
I gotta run,
Miller
So it's been an exciting weekend. Friday night went well, I worked until 2:30 and partied after until nearly 5. Saturday I worked a private party from 7-2 and made over 200 in tips I mixed up diaquiris and martinis like crazy. Though a lot of people wanted to be surprised so we ended up making a bunch of other stuff. Including ninja turtles, cookies and creme, twisters, passionate ladies, sex at my house, pearl diver and purple rain. Yes, I think have the coolest job ever. We ran out of bourbon though oddly enough and nearly out Captain. It was crazy. I also got 5 guys numbers haha. Issy and I ran the show the other night but it worked out great even though we got behind once when a drove of 20 somethings showed up and couldn't figure out what they wanted and I had to talk to them while trying to mix drinks and stuff.
Today's been pretty boring, I hung out with some friends and I made up some random drinks for us too we drank a couple of random sweet drinks. It's fun I'm excited about classes tomorrow though too so I didn't want to get hung over for them. It's weird entering as a jr. since I had so many AP credits and then a few from community college last year. It'll be a fun year.
I'm such a happy person right now that I finally got to see them in concert. In the past I have missed their concerts by days(literally). I've been an Erasure fan since I first heard them when I was wee little gal! :D
I have quite a few pictures so if you aren't interested in Erasure then you probably wont care for my pics. :P

The opening act was Young Love. There music was fun and well done! I enjoyed them but I think everyone was so anxious to see Erasure.

We purchased their CD out in the lobby and the singer and synth-guy signed our CD. :D
While in the Lobby Josh bought me two shirts and a program!!!! ((LOVE YOU)) YAY!! I can't wait to model them. *hearts*

At first the theater was pretty empty. Seats were empty and fans seemed sparse. It wasn't until last minute did people pour in. Everyone was on pins and needles as the excitement grew as the lights dimmed. A roar of clapping and cheering overwhelmed the stage once the music began.

The stage was set with giant diamonds that twirled and reflected the lights that bathed the crowd.

In the back of the stage there were screens that would pulsate images with the music.

Andy was such a joy to watch! His performance, antics and voice were the best. He was so fun!!

Even the backup singers were fabulous. There was a "wardrobe malfunction" that was pretty funny. No one noticed as one of the ladies slipped backstage until Andy stopped singing and looked around then asked where she was. Embarrassed but not broken she returned to the stage to dance her heart out. Everyone cheered her on!

After everyone left the stage for break and costume change the came back charged as ever! Andy snuck off the stage only to return with what looked like a boa. We soon learned it was this puppet. He told us that the puppet wanted to sing to us! So getting close to the microphone the crowd hushed not knowing what was going to happen. The first few notes of the song was sung and the crowd went WILD!

What did it sing?? Why, OH L'Amour!!!!

Because of where we were sitting we couldn't see Vince for most of the show. During one of the songs he came out while playing the guitar. If you didn't know I was screaming by then. Oh the poor souls who's ears were next to me!

Earlier before the concert we were waiting out in the entrance to be let in. Two security guards walked near me and stopped while talking. I asked if I was in the way. They laughed and said no and asked me if I have seen them in concert before. They told me that their concerts were known to be fun, full of costumes, flashy and never to disappoint! They weren't kidding.

Did I mention how fun Andy was?? ;) Everyone was DANCING (Well not Josh..he doesnt dance). I was dancing with a great guy next to me! You could tell he had a thing for Andy but who didn't there?? :D We danced, high fived and were giddy!!

They left the stage at the end only to come back for an encore. The fans would not give up. We all hooted, called them and clapped till our hands and throats were sore.
The fans were so diverse! There were people of every stage and walk of life. I was happy to see that there was another little girl there other than Savannah. It was heartwarming to see how everyone was open and felt free to be themselves. All different sorts of couples were there dancing, hugging and having a great time. We were all united by the messages that Erasure sang & played.
When going through the pictures today I was writing down the songs which I remembered them playing. Here is the amazing list that were performed(I will link the music to it. You may recognize quite a few of these!!):
Storm In a Teacup
Drama!
Victim Of Love
When a Lover Leaves You
Blue Savannah
Sunday Girl
Ship of Fools
Sucker For Love
Chains of Love
Stop!
Glass Angel
Fly Away
Breathe
Love to Hate You
Chorus
Sometimes
Golden Heart
Jacques Costeau
Don't Say You Love Me
I Could Fall In Love With You
So to answer you question; Yes! I did have fun.
(I hope Josh posts about his P.O.V. being a non-erasure fan)

| I'm so excited about today! Work is almost over and it has flown by so much!!! After work, I have to walk over to the apartment to pay rent, a nice 450 out of my just updated checking account. Get stuff gathered together for the weekend, then off to wal-mart! My fiance and I are both pumped about some upcoming movies so we are having a party this weekend and next weekend to celebrate. So I'm picking up some Transformers party supplyies so that we can have our theme going for this weekends party. Duh, Transformers. My fiances is more excited than I am about it because he grew up with it and followed it close and collected A LOT of the toys. I just think it looks cool. And, apprently the guy who does cartoon nextworks toonami late night on the weekends does the voice of Optuimus Prime, I was floored when I found out. I really like his voice so I'm hyped about that. Before we get ready for the party though I get RPG with the guys. That should be fun. I'm not very good at it in my opinion but they really seem to like having me there to play, unlike some other girls who we have tried to get into it. Then, after RPG at least my fiance and I are going to see Rocky Horror. The area has a small group that gets together every friday night to watch the movie, watch the local "actors", and do the time warp, and lets not forget hanging out with some friends. http://www.rockyhorror.com/main.php here's a site that looked good if you don't know about Rocky Horry, from there I suggest you find some place who shows it and go have a some fun with friends. Saturday is like I said the party so either after Rocky or early in the morning we need to prep for the party, I'm so exsited it's been so long since I've helped with a party...I don't remember ever really helping for a party.... Monday there is a showing of Transformers and I think my fiance would love to go to it since it's the first one. I hope we can get tickets for it!
Here's something to leave you with. From Rocky Horror! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PyB_1wjbc_s http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MDCcb3zRl8U This is of corse with out participation, lol. Enjoy, lol. |

Obviously the koalas were not that active during the day time. Thats ok. They were still cute.

There were soo many animals. We had soo much fun!! This jaguar was having a ball with his um.. ball. He was dragging it all around his area, panting and playing.

I like it when they have unusual birds. This is a Crested Screamer. They were the size of large turkeys or a bit taller.

The reptile exhibits had many snakes and all sorts of creatures. This rattlesnake seemed to be perky.

Granted it wasnt that hot of a day these sealions made me want to go swimming.

Primates were pretty sedated too. They must've eaten and needed their siesta.

The tapir was sunning himself too. He looked soo happy. Here is a little known fact: Baku. The Japanese word for the tapir. The Eater of Dreams. It was believed evil dreams were caused by evil spirits, and if the baku devoured an evil dream it might change to good fortune. A peasant waking from an ill slumber could cry, "Devour, O Baku! devour my evil dream."

This is a Victoria Crowned Pigeon. Brilliant red eyes and plumage.

What is a zoo without a zebra??

Oh yaaaaaawn... sleepy zoo day??

"You can stop staring anytime now."
I could have shown a lot more but I didnt want to bore you with an avalanche of animal pictures. :P
Showing 1 - 5. [ Next ]
fun night
