Full Moon @ MindSay
I worked a double last night and it never fails, with a full moon comes full moon calls. Have you ever spoken or watched someone that was a little touched, or off the on ramp. I take their calls and as with as people are to label them as crazy I often ask myself what if we are wrong and they can ACTUALLY hear voices. What if they can actually see people that we can't see and we tell them they are crazy, they need to take their meds and be honest about what is going on.
I can count a million different ways I would rather go than to go crazy. Now I don't mean dementia or bipolar, my grandmother has dementia and some days she has a lot of venom and her words can be a little hurtful, but I convince myself her attacks are not personal and I simply need to accept what I don't understand and let her go through it hoping the next day she is back to her normal self. I also don't mean bipolar, I think that there are way too many people that are diagnosed with being bipolar because a doctor doesn't want to deal with the problems instead of the symptoms. No I am talking about the mother that kills her child and said the voices told her to. I am talking about Son of Sam and that stupid dog. What if they really see this stuff and here I am telling them to go past the ghost and open the door for the officer.
Last nights call was one that occurs every couple weeks and I know why I find it hard to look past, the caller sounds and acts like grandmom. Well over 90 this woman calls at least 4 times a month and her concerns can range from someone ringing the door at 2 am and her not being able to see them, to a man on the top of the house trying to come in through the roof instead of the door or window. You can hear the fear in her voice and when she first started calling you could hear the pity as she said you think I am crazy don't you. I try to calm her down until we can get a officer to the house as well as one of her children.
We are not supposed to have relationships with callers that have the appearance of being unprofessional. We are not supposed to pray with callers whether they ask you to or not. We are not supposed to make false promises like "we are going to take care of this.
We are not supposed to do a lot of things that will make them feel better that may cause the situation to worsen, but like I said WHAT IF
Vacation was ok. Went to a resort in West Virginia, just myself and Husband. For our anniversary mostly.Anniversary number 27! We stopped at Antique malls and shops along the way. Had fun doing that. It was cooler up in the mountains of West Virginia. One night we caught the full moon and went to a pond to lay back and watch it rise and light the sky up, and see a million stars shining brightly. It was a bit chilly that night. But it was awesome. We stayed at this resort for 4 days and 3 nights free of charge if we took their little tour. It was worth it to stay free! The place was nice, but I wouldn't want to live there! With gas prices this year, we couldn't afford to do much of anything. We used 1 tank there and 1/2 tank back. At filling my van up for $85 dollars a pop, that was expensive enough! We bought some antiques, but not a lot. We both were out of work for the whole week in July, and we traveled all over western North Carolina to some Antique malls we had been wanting to go to.
This a picture of the sun setting from our room at the resort through the woods.Nice.
Here's some of the full moon pictures. My camera didn't quite capture the best of
it!
I guess you need a faster lens to capture the fullness and brightness of it.My camera made it look tiny, and it was so huge!
Here's one of the moon in the sky and its reflection on the pond surface. It's pretty cool. Looks like two moons!
The other one is a close up I tried to do.
One morning in late July we got up on a Saturday morning and spied a deer in the back yard. Not unusual as we live in woods and woods surround us, and we live near the Yadkin River. Here's a couple pictures of it:
It wasn't afraid of our dog, and the dog was just sitting and watching it!
One Sunday in early August we went to Cracker Barrel to eat after church, and this strange car was in the parking lot! It had a license tag, so it was driven there! Check it out:
Pretty Cool hUH? People were in the parking lot and taking pictures of it left and right! So low to the ground! Low Rider!
Below here is a picture I took today, August 27th, on Lasater Rd, in Clemmons NC at the water wheel. The wheel wasn't turning because of the huge volume of water, it was awesome! The lake was overflowing the dam and the little bridge I was standing on was shaking as the water roared under it! I took a video too. Hope to get it posted soon! We about drowned today! Some areas got 12 plus inches of rain. We have about 7" in our rain gauge! Areas are under flood warnings and watches. We had tornadoes in the area also. My radio at work kept going off with the warnings and such this morning. It was raining very hard.
It's taking forever for the video to upload. I will post it tomorrow! For now I need to sign off! Will catch up some more tomorrow!
I took some pictures of the full moon tonight or last night since it's technically Thursday. After a bout of thunderstorms the sky was nice and clear.
If you want to be a little cheesy, play the audio while watching the slide show.

- Josie would just love my Dingbat Moment #7,415. As I was subbing for my mom's 7th grade bible class today, my phone started ringing. As the kids goofed off and danced to my ringtone which happens to be Madonna's "Four Minutes (to Save the World)". I could hear the phone clearly, but I couldn't find it in my big, GARGANTUAN purse. When the kids left, the damn phone rang again and I still couldn't find it. I didn't have any pockets so it had to be in my purse right? Wrong!!!! Silly me! I forgot I put the danged thing in my bra! That's right, my boobs were ringing the entire time! Too bad I didn't have the thing on vibrate!
- Speaking of subbing, I had a crazy schedule day. I had to do my mom's 2nd period class from 10:45 - 11:45, work in the office from 11:45 to 12:35, do cafeteria duty from 12:35 - 1:05, go back to the office and work until 2:05 and finally, I did my mother's 7th period bible class until 3:00. Whew! That bible class is a doozy. The kids are great individually, but together they are heathens! I was "this" close to praying over them. I really was.
- The kiddo and I bet a quarter on the winner of American Idol. I was going for David Cook and she was going for David Archuletta. I think she's going to win the bet. I really like David A., but there is something "Stepford" about him isn't it? He seems void of a personality. He often reminds me of a young Michael Jackson in the sense that it always seemed that Michael never really knew who he was. It was like he was some sort of entertainment machine or a puppet. Performing seemed like it was all he knew. I hope this isn't the case for David A., but after hearing stories about his father you have to wonder.
- Yesterday, I went to my dad's house to help him type up a letter. The kiddo came along, too. Next thing I knew, my sister and her fiance and my brother and his girlfriend showed up. Dad was happy as a clam. He was on the phone saying, "Yeah, all of my kids are here. My grandbaby, too!" He ordered a couple of pizzas and some drinks and we had a nice visit even after my brother and I got into it. I apologized because I admittedly overreacted and was being a bitch. Apparently the full moon in Sagittarius makes my nerves short and makes me say exactly what's on my mind because yesterday I got into it with "the husband", my brother AND my mother! Mom is still not talking to me. WTF?? (Incidently my moon is in Sagittarius.)
