Kids Actually Doing Chores!
Coltin in fight gear and DeLaney flexing her muscl hosted for free by ImageShack DeLaney Coltin Sorting Laundry.JPG hosted for free by ImageShack Getting into Sorting laundry.JPG hosted for free by ImageShack Still Sorting Laundry.JPG hosted for free by ImageShack

I took these pictures mainly for atticsmouse to see how my son wears the sparring gear constantly!  But then Randy pointed out that we have documentation that the kids actually do their chores!

I am not sure why my daughter was wearing her hat but she was!

And after what I just got done doing, I am adding yet another chore to the kids' list!  Cleaning the fridge out monthly!

Update and upgrade : fridge
If I had my own house, I would definitely upgrade my fridge. I like the Frigidaire Refrigerators. There are some pretty slick designs out now. I do research from time to time on different appliances and the things that have improved since the last time I had to care. Refrigerators are one of my favorite appliances of all time. The fact that I can get a compact with a freezer in chrome makes me smile. Comparing prices and seeing exactly how cheap fridges have become in recent years is really neat. Being able to go to one site to compare is even better. I would rather be able to do that than to have to scour the net for deals myself.

Kitchen Is ALMOST Done!

Give me some hollas!  My kitchen is almost completely done!  It has taken a few months because of my procrastanting ass but it will be almost completely done as of today!

I am using Randy as a mover today to start getting the house ready for having 11 adults and 9 kids in the house at Thanksgiving this year; with maybe 1 more adult and 1 more kid possibly showing up if all goes well for my Brother this month!  Randy says I am using him as a pack mule today lugging boxes of scrapbook stuff, photos, material, books, and book cases from the downstairs to the upstairs.  I promised him a bucket of oats and a nice rub down for supper tonight if he just shuts his mouth and does what I ask him to do!  He didn't appreciate that but I laughed my ass off Smiley

On top of being my "pack mule" today, Randy is also doing the honey do list that he doesn't want me doing because of my knee.  Readying the house for winter!  He is taking down all the old furring strips that held down the old plastic and replasticing key windows to start:  all the south and east side windows.  They are the ones that really have no wind break.  And we found our source of noise at night and the source of why our house was always freezing even with both furnaces going this past winter!  The hallway window on the stairs!  The bottom of the outside sill was completely rotten!  So Randy took it completely off and filled it with expanda foam and found a peice of wood that he replaced it with over the foam!  MY GOOD GODDESS!  My hosue is freaking hot now!  We had to open windows last night to cool down!

After I put the second coat of paint on one area and put the first coat of paint on behind the frige and above the washmachine and dryer, I had Randy grab the ceiling paint and cut out the edges and around the light on the ceiling!  I shake to much when trying to do fine detail work to do that!  Now I am letting that coat of paint dry so I can go back through and get the second coat of paint on to dry.  Then I can move back the fridge, wash machine, and dryer.  After that I can paint the last little section of the kitchen and by this late afternoon I can make Randy be my work mule again, by helping me to put my faery boarder up in the kitchen!  Yes!  My none girly ass went with faeries!  It was either frilly flowers that went with my paint, swirls with hints of red, or faeries.  Me being "Pagan" went with the Faeries! Smiley  Randy just shakes his head over my color of paint.  He likes it but he doesn't appreciate my since of color.  I can't wait to take finish pictures of the walls (minus the updated light sockets and switches!-I gave Randy till the week before Thanksgiving to put them in and get the silver plates on!) and show you all!  My winter project after painting the kitchen and hallway is to take up the 20 plus year old linulom and put down some updated tile linulom that will go with my paint.  And maybe paint the cupboards a gleaming white with the doors being the same color as the walls or silver.  Of course putting new hardware on the cupboards!

I have to try and rearrange the upstairs with all the boxes and books with my projects in them so I can finish my costum yet today also.  My goal is to have my costum done tomorrow night and Coltin's cut out!  I can do it.

The new dog is a great help with Dooley and I will definatly make a post giving a complete update down the line.  With pictures!  Let's just say Spud (the new dog) has already taught Dooley some manners outside and not to get to romphy near me or the kids.  Not to mention he already has Dooley NOT jumping or moving as fast as he can away from Randy in the house!  Which makes it so much easier walking in the house now when Dooley is inside!

Frozen fridge farts...

Hey all…

It’s time to add insult to injury…so to speak.  Monday night I went to a football game that stunk up the Ed (Edward Jones Dome) when “Da Bears” put a hurting on our sorry Rams.  That truly was bad enough, but now I have to add another stinker to the list of poo-poo issues of the week.  The past few days I have noticed something with a particularly foul odor emanating from the old Norge.   Like Sherlock Holmes looking for the bad guy, I have searched high and low in a vain attempt to discover the source of our smell.  I had taken pretty much everything out of the crispers, shelves, nooks and crannies, but no luck.  Ah, but tonight I finally cleared a shelf that looked as if it could not contain anything that would produce our fridge fart, but alas, there it was.  It seems that I ever so slightly had overlooked a Tupperware bowl that contained last week’s leftover black beans from burrito night.   Oooooweeeeee…. Stinky, stinky!!!!

Ah, now that those odorific poo-poo beans are gone, my beautiful icebox can go back to being the keeper of the goodies.  With a little help from the three or four boxes of baking soda in there…it will be as good as new in no time.  Well, perhaps until next week’s taco night.

Fridge Cleanout

The definition of 'Ew' today is; My fridge.

I decided, after a rather pudgent and nasty smell had been looming suspiciously around the loungeroom that I should probably clean up and find out what smelt so bad. As such, the loungeroom has a few dirty clothes around and that's really it. The fridge however was my next target. I must remember to thank sarah for forgetting to take 5 minutes out before she left to empty the fridge of her shit. Oh well, dosn't matter I guess, isn't too hard to chuck stuff straight into a bin and run it outside, and not all of it was hers...

Anyways, I decided to clean out the firdge and low and behold, the apparant source of the smell, although I couldn't actually smell it in the firdge, it seems that once it left the vicinity of the cold fridge the heat made the odour quite nasty. The inventory goes as follows for off food in the fridge cause someone forgot to empty their stuff.

1x 500ml Full Cream Canberra 'Gold' milk - lumpy and equally gross, I didn't bother opening to empty it and recycle... fuck that.. nasty milk....

2x half-dozen eggs. - expired in may...

2x Cus Cus creation-a-la-sarah. - Now I know where two of my containers appear to have gone...

2x Homus - one unknown and the other belonged to me, although it seemed alright, I wasn't taking any chances.

1x other spread - it tried to bite my nose...

1x empty jam jar... - me being lazy

4x party pies... - see above

1x tuna fish in a can.... - has been there for months... probably longer then the Cus Cus..

1x spaghetti in a container... - which is still in there cause I think it's bens and only a couple days old...

As such, that's my adventures with food for the morning... I'll have to go through the crisper next... but I did that not long ago, so it should be alright...

Other then that, back to cleaning the house... despite lacking various cleaning utensils, but I can make do!
