I am very sick of all of this "Bitter-gate" coverage. What Obama said is very true, the people all over this country do not like the direction this country is heading. We are losing hope and losing places where we can turn.
I Believe what Obama said has been misrepresented by opportunists. Hillary is desperate for votes so she's losing it. The media is desperate for a scandal for bigger ratings. So, they've jumped on this one.
This is why I don't pay much attention to mainstream news sources. An objective news source is one of the most widely believed falsities in our society. And I'm not speaking in the terms of the right wing Fox News versus the left wing MSNBC. What I'm talking about here is a simple money problem.
The Broadcast and Cable news companies are only concerned with ratings and ad revenue. The truth is irrelevant to them. Instead of looking at the facts as a whole they will pick and choose the parts that they know they an manipulate. While most people will pay attention to Obama having his finger on America's pulse and knowing how we feel they, the media, look at the part about controversial and emotional issues
When Obama said that people are turning to guns and religion because they are bitter about their country he said the most honest and straightforward statement I have heard from a politician.Sure, I Would have worded it differently so that Rush Limbaugh couldn't call me an elitist but Obama isn't the first politician to do that. And he definitely didn't mean it as a slap at the face of the people of Pennsylvania.
The people, including myself, are worried and frustrated about the state of our society. They have lost faith in the government and in many cases are feeling isolated.
They have turned to two places that they know will be there for them. God for support and courage and guns so that they can protect themselves when/if the shit hits the fan.
Obama's statement wasn't about guns or religion it was about how the American Government has left the American people out in the cold. He wasn't saying anything bad against people who turn to God and Guns he was saying that if the current scenarios we face had been prevented (by markets regulation and not going to war with Iraq for example) they wouldn't have to go to those things as a last resort.
