Firefox/Flash issues, music and mmobbsgs
I have records for the longest time running windows without re-installs or formats, but right know, my computer is making me really nervous and I'm on the verge of wiping it all.
Most likely it's a Firefox/Flash thing: whenever I watch a flash video or ad, my CPU goes up to 100%, and everything gets really slow. It's almost impossible to watch YouTube on Firefox anymore. If I watch a FLV file offline, through, say Media Player Classic, it works great. On Chrome it's watchable.
Many users are complaining about this issue, not just me. So far, solutions include uninstalling all Flash and updating to Flash v10b or falling back to a version 9. For me this hasn't worked at all.
Other solution is to disable or lower the SessionStore feature in Firefox. This last one made everything somewhat more bearable. But sill my CPU usage is unreasonably high.
Anyway, here is some electro/metal by a Portuguese band called Noidz.
They're quite new but they sure know how to put on a live show. Best rave I went on the past summer. They like to dress and impersonate alien-ish characters.. but if you see their costumes up-close you'll laugh and say that's low bugdet! I hope they get the chance to grow.. which is quite a difficult task for an alternative band based on instrumental songs. Well, they make great versions of The Beautiful People and Breathe, but those are covers. Heh. Go to their website if you'd like to listen to their first and only album: www.noidz.net.
I'm thinking of starting to play a massively multiplayer online browser-based strategy game. Can't we come up with a neologism for that?! Either Travian or Tribal Wars.. Mindsay is so quiet lately..

[Blog #105] --- Depressed --- [Friday] - Drowning my sorrows in CRISPS
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Our sketchbooks were supposably due today.
I was sat downstairs in the hour and a half before E Block started - seeing how much I could get done.
I actually managed to get around 7 pages completed - leaving only about 10 to finish.
I finished a further 5 during the lesson - but then we were told that we could have until Monday to hand them in.
Nice one - so I planned to finish the rest on Sunday.
Ashleigh told me I'd given her a bruise on her arm yesterday - so I kept poking it. :)
It's fun to poke bruises.
Her comment to me was piss: "I've got a bruise on my arm because of you, you BASTARD."
It's just hilarious hearing Ash swear. :)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I was hyper off my tits on the walk into town.
I refused to push Ash - so when she set off pushing herself, I waited till she was unsuspecting - then I punched her a few times in her bruised arm. :)
(I did this yesterday on the 3rd floor corridor - and she couldn't control herself, so she crashed into several doors, walls, etc. :D)
Then I found some empty Coke cans - so I tried to kick them as far as I could.
That was nothing compared to some of the shite I was coming out with and how loud I was laughing.
But then Shelly had to go and ruin my mood.
When I'm hyper, you leave my mood alone. It's best when it slowly fades out on its own.
But no, when it's just ended, STOP - then it just turns to INSTANT depression lapse - and that's what she did to me.
So I walked under the scaffolding.
I haven't walked under the scaffolding for ages.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I attempted to cheer myself up with crisps.
I ate two bags from Home Bargains, then two from B&M.
We went to Home Bargains and Greggs - then we had a change of scene, decided to sit on the steel benches opposite the bus station.
I've done well for myself - I've only eaten at Greedy Joes for 3 of the 5 days this week. :)
I really need to get out of this CRISPS mood.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Returning to college - B Block pissed me off YET AGAIN.
This time, I just blatantly refused to do anything.
I knew EXACTLY what to write - the answer was just so fucking obvious.
I just couldn't write it.
So I read through today's shitload of revision notes instead.
I was so pissed off when I went downstairs, I asked Shelly if I could use her as a punching bag.
I know that I don't have a strong punch - but apparently I hurt her a few times.
I punched her tummy and her arms - then when I was hurting her, I moved onto the wall beside us.
This didn't really help me prepare for D Block.
I'd overheard Sarah talking to Ash's class when I was in the room opposite - both doors open - so I knew we were writing MORE fucking essays.
Sarah just took the piss.
She knows I'm fucking struggling, but she makes no effort to help me, the cunt.
Then towards the end of the lesson, she was drawing smiley faces on a piece of paper and showing them to me.
I was just like ER, THE FUCK MATE.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So I went home in this shit mood as well.
There was a guide dog on the bus.
I wanted to stroke it.
When I got home, I ate more crisps - bringing the grand total of crisp consumption to 6 bags.
Real Crisps - Roast Ox flavour
Tayto Crisps - Cheese & Onion flavour
Space Raiders - Spicy flavour
Pringles Rice Infusions - Sweet BBQ flavour
Pom-Bears - Cheese & Onion flavour
Pom-Bears - Cheese & Onion flavour
The Space Raiders were only like 5p, I was like LOL.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Today, my blog started fucking up.
I couldn't update or edit any entries.
Shelly suggested that I delete all tempory internet files and cookies.
Still didn't work. (Still doesn't to this day.)
So then she suggested I use Firefox.
Oddly enough - it works.
So now I have to use Firefox to update my blog.
Everyone on the forums said they're all doing technical work for MindSay - and even though they've finished it now - I'm still not getting anywhere.
So it's something to do with Internet Explorer being shitty.
Dixie currently feels:

Firefox Update 3! What The xyz have you done!
This message is for Ellen, Lovespirit, Soujourner, and all of the friends that I have made on Mindsay.
Since uploading 'Firefox 3' I have had nothing but 'hours of trouble' trying to respond to other's posts, so I had no choice but to leave Mindsay... I had to 'Force Shut' my computer several times... not a 'good thing for the computers.
I am posting now on my own blog, so I am hoping that I won't run into the same problem! If I do, so much for that! Firefox never got back to me, after I contacted them several times.
Anyway, I finally 'Registered' on Photobucket' and you can now find me there, if you go to 'Forums' and then Register for access to 'The Lounge!
Ellen, I searched for you there, but I did not find you. It took me a while to figure it all out to get there... but they 'ARE' very helpful, if you contact them!
My name on 'PHOTOBUCKET' is Shannasea777...... Look also under ANIMAL RIGHTS777.
If they ask for a 'Guest password' it is.... Jewel. I will check back 'once a week' to see if anyone has 'made it over there!'
Hugs, and Whisker Kisses!
Shannasea (I know that I spelled my name as Shaunasea for Mindsay.)

Sick of Your Web Browser? Google Has a New Alternative
Most of MindSay's members use either Microsoft Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox to browse the Web. But this week Google has rolled out a Web browser of its own - Google Chrome - that offers a fairly different approach to surfing the Web, and it's getting a lot of good reviews, including one from yours truly (aostrow)
One of the more interesting features of Chrome is the way it prevents crashes. Each tab works independently, so if something goes wrong, only that tab closes versus the entire browser crashing. Chrome also makes much more efficient use of space, showing you more of Web pages without having to scroll. The URL bar is also different than a traditional browser - you can type in either a Web address or a search term, which, will naturally search Google. In my tests so far, all of this leads to a much faster browsing experience that also makes the Web much prettier.
As cosina pointed out, Google first announced the project through a comic they leaked to the media drawn up by famed illustrator Scott McCloud.
You can download the new browser here. Have you tried it out yet? Let us know what you think.
