Fire Fire Fire!? Wait no?

The fire alarm just went off....yet there's no fire...

I called mumsy to let her know.

She said if I was showering with the door open (which I was since no ones home) than more than likely the steam sent off the alarm.

So all's good.

(:

School's almost out..
Hey guys, the seniors left yesterday, and that made the lunch lines a LOT shorter, which is nice.
However, they pulled the fire alarm, and kept pulling it when it'd be turned off. I counted, and it went off 14 times before they either gave up or were caught. I really can't wait for school to be OVER. It's been fun, and a new experience, but I'm ready for it to be done now.

"Man, you've had a hell of a week."

Thank you, Lira.  I could not have said it better myself.

This is gonna be a long one, folks.  Bear with me.

Well, Monday really didn't start off that bad.  I mean, it did, but it was one of those things that's funny after the fact.  I woke up that morning at about 11:00am, and it was just me and Momma in the house.  I decided I was going to grill me some cheese sandwiches for brunch.  I guess I put the heat too high, or I didn't use enough Pam or whatever, because it created more smoke than usual.

Which, of course, set off the smoke detectors.  =P

Millie (the dog) went absolutely nuts, barking in every direction known to man and a few she just invented on the spot.  Momma was yelling at me over the sound of the alarm, all the while trying to get to the other side of the house to turn off the damn thing.  She finally got to it and punched in the code, which thankfully shut it off.  So I finished cooking, cleared out the smoke, and sat down to eat my sandwiches.  (Which were actually not very burnt, btw.)

Now, I must explain this before going on.  The reason I have not been blogging much in the last few days is because we've been having internet trouble here at the house.  We still are, but it's not nearly as bad as it was.  What does that have to do with this story?  Well, before I woke up that morning, my mother had been on the phone with Centurytel, trying to fix our internet.  They made her unplug all kind of things, and then plug them back in.  Somehow, something didn't get plugged in right, because after she hung up with them, our phone lines went dead.  But we didn't know that.  Yet.

So the alarm company called our house when they detected that the alarm had been set off.  They got no answer, so they called the next listed numbers.  My mother was home, so her cell phone was off.  And my father was at work, but he didn't have his cell phone on, for some reason.  Sooo.....Of course they're going to send out the fire department.  =P

Now, let me warn everybody beforehand:  My mother is a very strange woman.  She's not crazy, she's not Obsessive-Compulsive, she's not any of that.  She's just...She's one of those people that wants everything (house, herself, me, etc.) to be presentable at all times.  I find this particularly annoying, or at the very least unnecessary.  But it's how she is.

I had just finished my sandwiches when we heard the knock on the door.  Let's picture this:  Neither of us were dressed yet.  She was in her long blue robe all buttoned up, and I was the large t-shirt that I had worn to bed.  When they knocked, she jumped up and ran off to go do something, I don't know what.  She acted as if she had nothing on and she had to go get dressed.  She told me, "Go answer the door!"  I was like, "You're more dressed than I am, why should I be answering the door?!"  I quickly threw on some shorts and answered the door.

At first, it was only my Pomen and another man whose name escapes me at the moment.  Then I peeked out the door and saw that the fire department was there.  (I guess I should explain here that Pomen is my Nanny's husband.  Nanny is my Momma's sister, and they live just down the road from us.)  My mother all of a sudden showed up behind me, I don't know how she did that.  Anyway, they were like, "Well, we got word that your alarm went off over here, is everything ok?"  We were like, "Yes, everything's fine, it was just a false alarm."  Momma asked Pomen why he was there (he doesn't work with the alarm company or the fire department), and he said, "Well, they tried to get through and your phone wasn't working, so they called me and Nanny at the house to ask if we saw anything."  Momma was like, "Our phones aren't working??"  And she ran off to go figure out why they weren't working.

In the meantime, I went outside to talk to whoever was there, since the whole thing was my fault anyway.  Obviously, I was a good bit embarassed that I'd have to explain myself to the fire department.  But luckily, this being a small town and all, I realized that I knew a lot of the people that had shown up.  So I felt a little more relaxed and I was able to explain what had happened.  One of them got out of the truck, looked at his watch, then asked me, "So, I guess dinner's ready?"  I laughed and said, "Something like that, yes."

I still had to give them my statement, just for procedure and stuff like that.  So me and Mr. Brandon (the man who asked me if dinner was ready) went inside.  When we got inside, my mother was washing the dishes that were in the sink.  *rolls eyes*  As if the firemen care that we have dirty dishes, Momma.  Anyway, so I sat down with Mr. Brandon and gave him my statement.  I apologized once for them having to come out here, and I figured once was enough.  My mother apologized about a dozen damn times.  She was all, "I'm so sorry y'all had to come all the way out here for nothing, I'm sorry to drag you away from your jobs, blah blah blah..."  I'm thinking, "Momma, this is their job."  They responded, "We're just glad it was only a false alarm."

When they finally left, Momma was still fussing.  Not at me for causing this, but at Daddy for not having his phone on.  Because of course, "If your Daddy would turn his damn phone on and leave it on, they would have called him and not had to send the whole fire department out here!  Now the whole town is gonna be talking about us!"  I was like, "Good grief."  At some point, I found out that she had gotten the phones working again.  Oddly enough, she had to unplug one phone to make the rest work.  =P

Anyway, my Nanny had called while I was outside.  Not surprisingly, she was worried sick about us.  So while my mother called Daddy at work to fuss at him for not turning his cell phone on, I called Nanny on my cell phone and told her what happened.  I felt at the very least I owed her an explanation, if not an apology.  Once I had explained the whole story, she laughed about it.  So I think she felt better.  =)

*chuckles*  Yes, it was quite a morning.

More later.  This is a long enough entry already.

betrayed?
can you fucking believe it??  A FIRE ALARM AT 5 IN THE FUCKING MORNING!!! it took me forever to wake up from it...i thought it was just some kind of a dream...and i was really fucking pissed when i realized that it wasn't.
so krystall comes to get me and anna-marie and we start to leave and wait outside of the building...freezing our asses off!! so we're waiting and waiting and waiting, and getting numb from the cold, and waiting some more, until finally, they let us back in.
on the way back in, i bump into laura and michelle!! i was so happy to see them because i hadn't seen laura for months and i hardly saw michelle at all anymore...and yeah...at the same time, i was really really pissed. i had tried calling michelle, leaving her messages, writing stuff about how much i missed my friends and how i felt that i hadn't done shit to try and see them or talk to them, and then, there they were....and she never bothered to even fucking call me.
so much for being my "best friend"....and the greatest thing is, I LIVE RIGHT NEXT DOOR TO HER!!!

i can't help but feel cheated....thanks to katie, i question everyone now.....also thanks to her, i have no sympathy left....so when one of my good friends tried to jump off a building last week, i just sat there in a daze...i didn't know what to think.

am i over-reacting? i know that she's allowed to have other friends too, but dear god....would it fucking kill her to give me a damn phone call?? am i just not convenient enough? do i not understand or not fit in with the group she's been hanging out with? i dunno, she didn't look too thrilled when she saw me this morning...whatever, fuck it...if i have to cut her out of my life as well, so be it. i hate dealing with bullshit....
