The Ferry from Port Angeles, WA to Victoria, BC & the Undersea Gardens

Actually this is the view of the ocean from the Olympic National Park visitor center.

The Olympic Mountains from the ferry. We were a few minutes out.

So this is a picture that I took once we got to Victoria, BC, Canada. What's wrong with this picture? *racism*

We went to the Undersea Gardens when we got there and here are the pictures/videos I took from that. :)

Here's a couple of videos. They're both pretty straight forward, lol.

Alright, well I need to get to bed. Tomorrow we're doing the EMP and the Si-Fi Museum before we catch a plane and fly back into San Jose. Finally, a real shower!

It's been quite the weekend
Man, my trip was awesome. Never a dull moment. Though it's original purpose was a bit depressing, once that was over with and I was on to Haines, I had an absolute blast. I stayed at Jo Feldman's house and Casey and I shared a room that was over their garage. The first day we were there, we crashed a wedding that Leigh Horner had organized. Man, that was such an akward couple of hours. I knew a grand total of maybe three people. I also got sunburned way bad. I was wearing a t-shirt so I've got the dorky farmers' look. (Not to be derogatory towards farmers... I love you guys really.) Let's see, I don't remember what exactly we did that night, but it was something with Jo and Molly Wilson. Actually, the whole trip was a little quintet of Molly, Jo, Casey, Marley, and I. It became a lot easier just to refer to "the Jo's" than anything else. The next day, Molly and Casey went with Len sailing while Jo and I hit the beach. I tried desperately to even out my burn so I didn't look so bad, but I failed miserably. That night I hung out at the Horner's, ate delicious king salmon that was left over from the wedding. (Leigh snagged it since she planned it of course.) Later, while Jo and I were watching SFAC videos, Molly comes in and kidnaps us because we have to witness "something very important." Turns out, Molly and Casey had already kidnapped Marley earlier and had decided that they were going to corrupt his un-ever-gotten-high self. That was... actually really funny because when they told Jo and me that, we thought he was already high, he was so weird. The next day was spent with the five of us wandering around, we made cookies at some point and went out to dinner. Then Casey and I hopped on the ferry and headed home. We had another layover in Juneau, but we couldn't think of anyone who would willingly come out at 1am to hang out with us for five hours, so we just went to sleep. When we got to Sitka, our dad was unavailable so we spent an hour and a half stuck at the ferry terminal while we called everyone else we knew to come pick us up. Finally, we ended up getting a cab. How stupid is that? Getting a cab in the town you live in. You'd think we could've found SOMEONE with a car to come get us. Grrr.

And now I'm home. Sunburned and possibley scarred for life:P, but home. My dad has exactly nothing in the fridge, so I think Casey and I are going grocery shopping. Probably not the best idea, seeing as how odd our eating habits are, but better than scraping the corners of cupboards.

San Juan Island - Friday Harbor

Ok, I have some pictures ready.  I think I'm going to end up with 4 different entries - 3 from San Juan Island and 1 from Orcas Island.  So I hope you all like pictures :)

This first entry is mainly pictures I took from our room, and a couple others in town or on our way to the island.

So, here we go...

First off is a view looking toward the town of Anacortes while we were waiting to board the ferry heading for the islands.

After waiting like 2 or 3 hours to get on the ferry (we just missed the previous one) and then a ferry ride of about an hour-and-a-half, it was dark when we finally got to the Friday Harbor House in Friday Harbor on San Juan Island, WA.

The room was amazing.  We had a corner room on the third floor with a full wall-and-a-half of windows overlooking the harbor.  Not to mention, we had a fireplace and oversized jetted tub.  Nice!

The next morning was sunny and beautiful, and the view from our room was amazing.  The rest of these pictures, with the exception of the last one, were all taken from our room.

The ferries are larger than I ever imagined they would be.  There can load two levels of cars.

If you look back to my previous entry, you can see a nice little sitting area to the bottom left.  There was a sundial out there that caught my wife's attention.

The harbor was filled with boats, which always make some good pictures, especially when they're surrounded by evergreens.  One of my best pictures of the harbor is the one I previously posted.

That's all for now.  The next entry will cover our whale watching trip.  There weren't any whales, but plenty of other wildlife and scenery to make it a lot of fun.
