Favorite Tv Shows @ MindSay

Excellent T.V., and what's left of it...
So, children, I've found a few shows that I absolutely adore, and dug up a few old ones that have always held me in deer-in-headlights rapture.

The first off my new list has been on the block for a few years, but only recently caught my attention: The Venture Brothers. It started as a random Sealab-esque parody of the old Johnny Quest show, with no real connecting storyline between episodes or anything - just the same characters doing different thing every time, Johnny Quest style. In the past season and a half though, it's taken on it's own identity, with a continuity and characters that are really getting some flesh on them. If you're looking for a good show to get into, hit it up @ www.adultswimepisodes.com.

Then we have Frisky Dingo. If you mixed peyote, acid, ecstasy, and shrooms, then dissolved it in everclear, I can only imagine that the product would cause your mind to recreate an episode of Frisky Dingo - assuming that you survived such an encounter. It has no point, no sanity, and no basis in logical, coherent thought. At all. Just about everyone who watches it immediately labels it as being juvenile for no reason, and some people take that as a bad thing, but trust me, if you need something hilarious and insane, this is your drug of choice. It, like Venture Bros is housed at www.adultswimepisodes.com .

An old favorite of mine, from when shows were most excellent, is NewsRadio. The dashing tale of Dave Nelson (played by canadian sketch-master Dave Foley) becoming the super-young News Manager at one of New York's largest radio stations, and trying to run it, while everyone else is goofing off and trying to run it into the ground. The cast is great, with an excellent dynamic, and more comedy than you could reasonably hope to shake a stick at. If you are a connoisseur of fine television shows, NewsRadio is most choice, but I recommend you pick it up on DVD - watching a pirate just doesn't do it justice.

Yet another excellent old show is Kids in the Hall (featuring, Dave Foley), which boils down to the Canadian version of MadTV, back when it was excellent (along with SNL). The sketches are original, hilarious, and a lot of them are good running gags ("Twenty-nine helens agree that punctuality is important... I wish Helen Carter did too"). As far as your comedy buck will take you, this one is right up there with the best of Who's Line...

Alrighty, kids, bye.

Challenge
Put two and two together.
Number One:  One of my all-time favorite episodes of one of my favorite TV shows is the Cosby Show episode where Cliff and Mr. Sandman have an impromptu dance-off.  Everytime Sandman does something, he points to the floor, yelling challenge to Cliff, to see if he can do any better.
Number Two:  The baby LOVES to dance.  As soon as he hears music, he breaks it down.  He likes it even more when you join in with him.
Heres the youtube clip of the episode in question:
Clliff vs Sandman Challenge

You better believe that this will be played out in our kitchen in the very near future.

If anyone is interested in my thoughts on the superbowl, albeit very brief, check out my response to Hoz on his blog.  Click on the username tyrian22 in the recent visitors section.  It's a response to his superbowl post.  I might get more in depth later on (probably not) but that's my cliff's notes version.  Hehehe...Cliff.

Season Premieres!!!

Hooray!!! You wait so long, and finally, the big night is just a couple days away. Thursday night is the season premieres of both Alias and Everwood. Dissapointingly, that means that I won't be seeing much of CSI this year, but you have to prioritize when they're competing for the same time slots. :*)

Now if they'd just get more than the first season of Everwood out on DVD, and hurry up with the release of season 4 for Alias (October 18 I think) then life would be perfect... or somewhat closer to perfection. :*)
