...It's been a week since Youmacon, and I STILL haven't blogged about it. XD I FAIL
Okay so. I don't remember a whole ton of details because I was hyped up on Monster, brain-dead due to lack of sleep, and sore from walking a lot and sleeping on the floor in a sleeping bag with another 11 people in a cramped hotel room the size of my bedroom. Actually, it was a little bit bigger than my bedroom, but I digress. XD
Okay so. Thursday I got up, finished packing, did some internet things and then went to the Gamer's Alliance (a club at school) to pick up Andrea. She was not there. She was out shopping for her Youmacon stuff. XD I waited for her for about an hour, watching the boys play Halo. It was mildly entertaining. She finally arrived, and we transferred her stuff in her car to my car, and she left her car for her mother to drive home after she got off the bus later that afternoon.
We went back to my house and watched Silent Hill. 8D It was awesome, except for the fact that the room was too bright even with the blinds closed and we couldn't see a lot of things. My TV also decided to have a fail and make the music and sound effects so loud we couldn't hear the talking. DX Andi has most of the lines of the movie memorized, though, so she just told me what they said when I didn't catch it. XD
Around 6-ish we left, I picked up Micah and we set off on our way~ Everything went pretty smoothly; I drove and Micah, being the most competent with directions of the three of us, read off the directions to me. We listened to music from Andi's iPod Touch which she rigged to my car's radio with a tape deck, and it was awesome. Until the road that lead us to the hotel didn't show up. XD; We ended up on Michigan Avenue, which is a train-wreck right now because of construction. We ended up driving up and down it confused until we found the Town Center's service drive (which was ALSO under construction, ick) and FINALLY made it to the hotel.
We then proceeded to wait aimlessly for 2 hours for the girl (Michelle) who reserved our hotel room, because we couldn't get in until she checked in. DX I was supposed to meet someone from the NaNo forums there, but I missed her because of it. DX
When we finally got in we watched a few of the Death Note live action movies and then went to bed at like, 2 am. XD
Friday we did more fun things and took pictures and walked around a LOT. There were fun panels and the opening ceremonies, despite the extremely long line (that we were lucky enough to notice and sat in for a long while so we could get good seats), was a lot of fun. I like the announcer guy, he's funny. XD
Saturday was much of the same, except the morning I was leading Andrea around, because she dressed up as Deep Drive Riku with the blindfold. She could still see, but everything was fuzzy because she didn't have any glasses or contacts in in addition to being mostly blocked from the thin blindfold. I also dressed in my Halloween costume -- I was a gyspy. I have pics, which I will post a link to at the end. XD We also played Death Note Mafia from about 11pm until 6 am, even with the time change. XD 8 hours straight, yay! Eventually somewhere around 2 or 3 our moderator left, so I moderated the rest of the games, switching off with Andrea and this one other girl once. It was fun. 8D I bought the cards for it from Nikolai, so now I can play whenever I get a good amount of people~ <3
Also, my roomate flooded the bathroom Friday night. XDD She was really really tired, and taking a shower. For some reason, her brain didn't realize that the plastic shower curtain goes INSIDE the tub, because if it's outside the tub the water splashes over the side and floods the floor in about 2 inches of water. XD She had to go downstairs and get someone from the hotel staff to clean it up, and then sat in a corner in shame when he brought a mop, a bucket, and the hugest armful of towels ever. XD I took a picture, but you can't really see the water...
I had to go to the bathroom when I got there, so I had to take off my socks and roll up my pant legs so I could go. Still got my pants wet, and Saturday morning I got my socks wet because it had soaked into the carpet outside the bathroom door. D:
Sunday was lazy. We spent the entire morning lazily packing and feeling generally worn out. Check out was at noon, which Michelle did check out in time for, but we ended up in the room waiting for a cart to take our suitcases until almost 1. The guy who packed the stuff in my trunk didn't know that you have to pull the handle back into a closed position before you close it, or else it either doesn't close or gets stuck. Now it's stuck. DX I can't open it. We had to fold the seats down and drag Andrea's stuff out the side door when I dropped her off because no one could open it. :/
We walked around for a while, taking a few pictures but not many, and I sat and watched the Spoony Bards for a while because my feet hurt so incredibly much. We lost contact with Micah, so we waited around for a while for him to show up or call us so we could go home. Eventually Andrea told him we were leaving and if he didn't come right that second he'd have to find another ride, but then he texted her back, saying he was already home and had fallen asleep. >.> Uh, hello, thanks for telling us, jerk. I thought I was his only ride home, since I DID take him there, but noooo, he found a ride and didn't think to tell me. DX We waited around for nothing, and I was already in a bad mood from not getting enough sleep.
We drove home around 6-ish with minimal problems. It took me a while to find the North ramp for the Southfield freeway, but we did and we were on our way.
It was a blast, and I can't wait for next year. I am DEFINITELY cosplaying, no excuses. I'm definitely doing Riza Hawkeye from FullMetal Alchemist next year, but I want to do more than one costume. I'll probably do someone from Axis Powers Hetalia, but I'm having trouble choosing from Russia, America, North Italy, and France. XDD

OKAY ENOUGH ABOUT YOUMACON
It's National Novel Writing Month! 8D I both hate myself for doing this to myself and love it because I'm getting SO MUCH DONE OMG. Even if it is utter crap. XD
I decided to just do Lifeless, rather than Precious Wingbeats. PW is just too complicated and too much to do for NaNoWriMo, and I haven't figured out all the plotholes yet. Lifeless is relatively simple, so that's what I'm doing.
I got a TERRIBLE start, I didn't start until the 3rd because of Youmacon and fatigue/homework, and only wrote about 300 words that day. XD I'm sitting at 8,865 words right now, which is pretty darn good if I say so myself for 4 days. XD I'm going to try and get to 10,000 today, maybe 11,000 if I can.
I'm thinking about posting it here, as I go. I haven't decided yet, though.
I'll ramble more about this sometime later this month, I'm sure. XD Goodnight, digital abyss~

Didn't I say a long time ago that I wasn't going to leave this for such a long time again?
...I guess I lied. XD Oops.
ANYWAYS...
Since the last time I posted, school has started. I have class Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. Mondays I have Calculus I 11-1, Tuesdays I have Short-Stories and Novels 1-4, then Career Planning 6-9, and Wednesdays I have Calculus I again 11-1, and then a (annoyingly easy) Word Processing class 6-9. Not toooooo busy of a schedule, but Calculus is kicking my ass. D8 I suck at trigonometry, so I fail terribly at all the problems involving that stuff. ^^; We just got done with limits, I think I did pretty decent on the exam this morning, but I'm not positive. It was hard. D8
Today I hit an animal driving through campus on my way to get some lunch. I was driving down the road and this squirrel just jumped right in front of my car. I braked a little, and I didn't feel anything or see anything in the road in my rearview mirror, so I'm hoping that I didn't actually hit him. But it made me sad anyway. :(
I want something (preferably living) to cuddle. But I'm not going to ask any of my family (eesh no), and my kitty Squirt is the most uncuddly cat ever. He doesn't like to be held for very long and he will NEVER sit on your lap. The most you can get is him sitting next to you. I had to trick him this morning to sit on my lap - I was in the living room on the couch and had a blanket over my legs because I was cold. I stuck my hand under and moved it around, and he jumped into my lap trying to get my hand under the blanket. He stayed there. :) But it was only because he didn't realize he was on my lap...Too bad I had to trick him, though. :/ I really hope he grows out of it.
YOUMACON IS IN 22 DAYS!! I'm so super duuper excited. 8DDD Too bad my cosplay fell through. :( I took a last ditch attempt to get the right fabric so that my aunt could make it for me (she's a talented seamstress, and I know if she made it it wouldn't fall apart or anything and be of good quality), and now it's too late to order one. :( They say it takes 25-30 days just to ship it out to me, and probably somewhere around a week after that before it gets on my doorstep, since it would be coming from Hong Kong. :/ *sadface* Andrea said that I should still find something simple enough and cosplay, but I have absolutely no idea who to do. She said she'd look some up for me, though, so we'll see how that goes.
...Maybe I can find some overalls/coveralls, a blonde wig, a peach bandana and make a cardboard wrench and go as Winry Rockbell, haha. XD That could work... I dunno. I'll have to think about it. I want to do something that is easy, but not stupidly simple, like L from Death Note or something. Those are just lazy. :P
I'll definitely do Riza next year, though. And maybe someone from Hetalia, I dunno. 8D I'm partial to Italy~ He's so cute. <3 Plus it would be an excuse for me to act like a dork (moreso that I would normally at an anime convention. :P).
I WONDER IF WE'LL FIND JESUS AGAIN. XDDD And I hope they have Death Note Mafia again, that was a lot of fun, despite the douchebag who decided to act like a pompous smart-ass and ruin everyone's fun halfway through the night last year. I just hope it doesn't coincide with Mario Party After Dark again, I really wanted to go to that, but couldn't tear myself away from the game. XD We played it from like, 11 to 4 in the morning last time, it was a blast.
We should also totally do Otaku Family Feud again, we killed everyone at it last year. Pocky Brigade FTW! We'll need to find Jessica again, though, I didn't get any contact information from her. Maybe Andi did...
Aaaaaand NaNoWriMo is gearing up again! I'm both super excited but ABSOLUTELY TERRIFIED at the same time. ^^; I've been having a lot of problems writing recently. I can see and imagine the scene in my head, and it's great. The words flow through my head perfectly. But when I go to put it on paper/document, it just... dies. No words come. It's insanely annoying. Hopefully I can break that before November. I'm already going to get a bad start because of Youmacon (the last day is November 1st, and after that I'm going to be completely wiped and have no will to write anything), so I really really hope that gets broken soon.
I decided to go ahead and do the sequel to Duplicity as my NaNo novel. Except it's slowly becoming too AU to be the true sequel. XDD; PLUS, Duplicity isn't actually DONE, I even went so far as to restart it because it sucked. ^^; So I'm technically writing the sequel to a story that hasn't been written yet. SO SMART Y/Y? Especially since I'm an extremely linear writer, I just can't jump around in my story. It just ends up weird and doesn't feel right. That's PROBABLY why Precious Wingbeats (working title of the sequel) is becoming so intensely AU. ^^;;;; Oh well. I've been using an outlining technique called the Snowflake Method, and so far it has been doing me some good. I've actually got things down; I guess restricting myself to your normal outline format was what was blocking me from creating previous outlines. I'm on stage 3 with Precious Wingbeats, and plan on trying it all the way through. I'm just too lazy right now to plot out all the characters, since I know them all pretty well at this point...

I've been so intensely sleepy a lot recently. It's weird. I get enough sleep: anywhere between 7 1/2 and 10 hours. That's what I've been getting for most of my life now. But it just feels like I need a nap all the time, except during some points of the day. I have the hardest time EVER getting up. I feel like I need naps during the day (which I have never done in my life except on occasion). I don't know why... my lifestyle hasn't changed at all. Maybe it's a mental thing? But what would make me want to sleep all the time? Idk. :/ Oh well.
...I must be sitting weird, because my wrists are starting to hurt from the typing. D8 I guess I'm done for tonight.

My grandmother is out on vacation up north, and my aunt has an art show in the thumb this weekend. Since my grandma isn't coming home until tomorrow afternoon, my aunt asked me to watch her birds for the night and feed them in the morning. They need their cage cleaned every day and their food bowls washed and refilled every morning, so it's not like she could leave them, so here I am.
I like her birds. I don't remember what kind they are, though. Cockatiels? Maybe? I dunno. XD Their names are Bella and Chloe - Bella is all white and Chloe is yellow, gray, and she has those red cheeks. Bella's a little snot, though - she acts all tough and snaps at you when you go to pet her, but it's only because she's trying to get you to do it. XD She only nibbles when she gets you, though, so it doesn't hurt. I have the radio on right now, and they're both trying to not fall asleep so they can listen. XD
I'm quite bored, all things considered. It's much better than that time I had to spend 4 days here - back then she didn't have a working internet connection and a shitty computer. I like her new one, but I'm not used to the keyboard. It's hard to type on it - I'm waaaay too used to my laptop. XD; I keep on failing at spelling things; I'll either miss a few letters or completely have my hands off center and end up typing a bunch of gibberish. XD;;;
So in my boredom I've been singing to the radio (terribly, I might add) and surfing the net. I brought my ocarina so I could start learning how to play it, but I don't know if I want to do that right now. I don't want to turn the radio off. XD;
I could write, as my laptop is on the floor right next to me, but I have no ideas currently. I don't feel like working on Duplicity. Most of my other little plot bunnies died, although I do know what I was planning on doing. I just don't have the urge to write them right now. They'll all probably end up as part of my 100 themes challenge at this rate.
Yup, I'm going to go ahead and do a 100 themes. Kaifu decided that she wanted to do one, so she said we should do it as a sort-of joint project: she'll do it for the original Rune Factory, and I'll do it for Rune Factory 2. We're going to help each other with them if we have any difficulties and send them to each other to read before we post them. I have one finished, but I don't have any more ideas as of right now. I'll have to pick a few themes to mull over in my head and see if I come up with anything. Or I'll just have to sit and try to think of ideas in general then see if it fits any of the themes, like I did for the one I finished last night. That will probably be easier for me. XD; ALTHOUGH, if they all end up as long as the one I've done already (over 1,600 words, it's only supposed to be a drabble XD), it might take me a loooooong time to get to 100. XDDD; But it'll be fun.
My mood just took a HUGE downturn about an hour ago, I don't know why. O.o I just feel kinda apathetic but restless - I don't want to do ANYTHING, but when I don't, I get really bored and restless. DX
Probably has a bit to deal with the fact that I've been about a hair's width close to SMACKING THE SHIT out of my mother the past few days, and now that I'm finally away the sour mood I've been in but trying to hide so I don't go beserk at her is coming full force.
I also had quite the headache to deal with this afternoon: I went out to get my dinner, but when I got back I was LOCKED OUT. The front door is a touchy bitch and doesn't like to unlock. I could put the key in (with some difficulty, but it went in), but I couldn't turn it AT ALL. After struggling with it for a few minutes (I had to drop my food and purse on the bench so I could use two hands) I tried to take my key out, and it wouldn't let go. D: So I had to spend some MORE time trying to get the damn thing out. Since I couldn't get in, I had to go ALL THE WAY HOME to use the phone (I need a cell phone so badly, but I don't have the money D:) and call my dad so he could let me in. He's better at opening that door than me. He told me to try the back door, that one opens easier. Well DUH, why didn't I think about that?! DX So I had to drive ALL THE WAY BACK and tried the back door. I got in, luckily, but I was SOOO PISSED. I was scream singing in the car to let my frustration out, I dunno if I scared anyone. XD;; But now my throat is a little sore....
Emily just posted on the forum. O.o I thought she said she wasn't going to have anything to do with anything that had to do with Dixie, yet she just posted on the Health Watch thread. Whaddya know. I know she talked to Dixie a few days ago, but Dixie didn't really want to talk to her... I wonder what she's thinking. ^^;

"Blomp" was a typo for glomp that I made a while back, by the way. We tend to use it anyway. XD I decided we needed to have names for each other, like how Mima calls Taylor waifu and vice versa, so since Tuesday is "kayoubi" in Japanese we decided on kaifu. :3 Is cute~

I opened my own checking account about a week ago, so now I has a debit card. With that debit card, I opened a Paypal account, so I can shop online and stuffs. :3 But I didn't have a whole lot of money in the account since my old savings account is under my mother's name and I can't remove the money and close the account without her prescence (sucks majorly), I couldn't do much with it. But I got my last check from work recently, so I went and deposited that and put the money in the Paypal, aiming to go scour Ebay or something and buy myself a little something something. Unfortunately it seems it takes 3-5 days for the transfer to go through, so I have to wait now. ;_; I wanted to get FF7~ And mebbeh FF8, if I can afford that as well. I WANT MY CLOUD AND LEON FUFFF. 8D I'll have to look again when the transfer goes through. :/
When I went to deposit my check, I headed to Borders as well, looking for the 19th volume of FullMetal Alchemist. But they didn't have it. D8 It was supposed to be out already! Lazy bums. DX But it wasn't a total loss - I decided to get the seventh Harry Potter book, since they had it in paperback. (I avoided buying it when it first came out since the hardcover was like, $35. D: Rip off.) I figured I would finish/re-read the sixth one (I never finished it because I hated the book, but now that I've seen the movie I might as well just read it and get it over with) and finish the series. We have all the other books, might as well finish the collection. XP I'll get to reading that eventually.
Most of my days this summer consist of sleeping, reading fanfiction, talking to Taylor, talking on the forum, and writing. Or attempting to write. :P I have about... I dunno 4 ideas going? They're all Rune Factory 2 fanfiction too, haha. XD It's kinda surprising - I haven't touched the game in about a month, yet I'm coming up with a bunch of ideas. It seems to be my ongoing fandom as of now, not even Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann managed to push it away for long. (Which is EPIC WIN by the way. KAMINA. LEERON. I LOVE THEM. <3 Simon is pretty epic too, especially when he gets older.) I'll list them~
Duplicity: Longfic that I'm currently posting as I write it. There are currently 2 chapters up, and I'm slowly working on the third. Pairing is Max/Ray~ <3 I'm a little stuck, though, but the idea just WOULDN'T LEAVE ME ALONE so I skipped past it and wrote a different scene. It includes a little plot twist for added fluff and angst. 8D I had to do a little bit of research (and no Taylor, the drink name is not a major part, although it is something I would like to have), which got me SUPER EXTRA EXCITED, so hopefully later tonight-ish or tomorrow morning/afternoon I'll manage to work out the rest in my head and write it down. What I wrote this morning when I first got up (putting a notebook and pen near my bed was a VERY GOOD IDEA) needs a lot of tweaking and adding to now that I've done my research, but I'm happy with what I got down overall.
So far it's not garnering as much interest as my Barrett/Kyle or Jake oneshots, but that's to be expected - Barrett and Jake are the top popular bachelors. There's like, NOTHING on Max at all, and... I think two fanfics (one of which is dedicated to me, lol) involving Ray that I know of. So sad, they're awesome characters. D:
Lifeless: Longfic that I got the idea for A LONG TIME AGO, and started writing A LONG TIME AGO, but it got pushed to the side by little oneshot ideas and Duplicity, which is a lot less involved than this will be. It will be an extremely long fic (at least by my standards, which is somewhere around 30 chapters), with the pairing being Jake/Kyle. I plan on writing the ENTIRE THING (or at least 80% of it) before I begin posting, so it got pushed to the side when Duplicity came along. But I really love the pairing, so it WILL GET DONE. Eventually. <3 It's a lot more difficult of a pair to put together than pretty much any other one, because of Jake's inherent hate of humans, so it's going to be more work. But I don't mind~ I already have a rough outline and a lot of things going, it's juet GETTING IT GOING that is the hard part. the first chapter is written (took me 3 different starts to get one I liked) and the second chapter is started (but I started over at over 1,000 words because I didn't like it, so it's down to like, 300). I've got a starting block, it seems, which probably means that until my oneshot ideas get pushed away/written and Duplicity is finished, it won't get done. My original ETA was late August, but even that is looking a little too soon. XD;;
Sweet Thing: Oneshot, Barrett/Kyle. Pretty much going to be PWP yaoi lemon, but it's not totally hopeless - it takes a long time before getting to the sex. XP As for the premise, just imagine a hot day and melty ice cream. ;3 *shot* I got it JUST STARTED on either Monday or Tuesday (can't remember lol), so that might be a little while, since Duplicity keeps SCREAMING AT ME "GET ME DONE GET ME DONE WRITE MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE." XD;;
Untitled: Undefinte length, college AU. Yaoi lemon, of course~ Everyone will be involved at some point, but it'll center around Kyle, Barrett, Jake, Max, Ray, Rosalind, and mebbeh one other bachelorette, I dunno. XD I love the RF2 bachelors a LOT, it seems. XP Main pair will be Barrett/Kyle, and side pairs will probably arise, along with some love triangles. :3 And probably some kink. XD; I still haven't completely developed the idea or written anything - it will probably end up as one fic, but each chapter could stand on its own and doesn't follow a specific defined plot overall - basically a series of oneshots, all with the same premise and setting. We'll see how it goes.
Untitled: For some reason, I REALLY WANT TO torture myself and attempt a 100 themes. I DUNNO WHY, but I do. XD So I've been looking for lists that would fit the series (although I could do AUs for the ones that don't fit into the premise of the game). I found one that I like and bookmarked it, but I haven't fully decided to do it yet. I'll do it when the urge gets too great or I finish Duplicity/Lifeless, we'll see. It depends on if I want to distract myself because I get stuck or something, that seems to be helping moderately with Dupliciity right now.

Humanities paper from hell + other stuff
Quite honestly I'm not very surprised.
On another note, I finally get to spend time working on the collab. :3 Raven has already started, and it has been my turn for a while now, but I've just been so busy and stressed that I couldn't get myself to work on it.
But Raven seriously needs some help, though. He really rushed it the first time he wrote his section, it sounded more like a summary than anything else. So I told him to flesh it out, and he explained that he was trying to cut down on unnecessary babble and just get on with the story. I told him that there was a fine line between too much information and not enough, and that he crosssed the line a little bit, and he agreed to work on it.
The problem is, now he's adding unnecessary details. He definitely needed more detail, but not the kind he's adding. :/ It's just BORING. I told him to include what his character sees and experiences, but he's not good at that, apparently.
The only reason I'm really bugging him about it is that I know that there are some of us who use a lot of detail when writing (myself included). We have to be able to shape this into a cohesive style, something we missed out on last time, which caused it to suffer.
Taylor and I have our work cut out for us as betas. ^^;;; We have a lot of new people who are pretty young, and we have no idea on their writing skill. I expect to be rearranging sentences so that it flows better a lot; I've already run into that with Raven. Taylor and I have decided that she would go through it first, fixing minor things like spelling and grammar, and anything awkward that she decides is bad enough to merit changing. Since I have more guts to tear things apart, I'll go through it and fix the flow and try and mesh the style into something more singular.
It will still be their writing, I'm not going to completely tear it apart or anything, I'm just going to FIX it, like I would as anyone else's beta.

I came up with a oneshot idea a couple of days back. But I had a little tiny plot hole, so I had been brainstorming ways to fix it. Fortunately, Sunday night as I was going to sleep I figured it out completely. Satisfied, I went to sleep.
I really wish I had thought to WRITE IT DOWN, because I had completely forgotten what I had planned by Monday afternoon, when I finally had time to work on it. :/
That night I sat down and tried to rack my brain for the information, but it didn't come. I managed to piece together another way to fix it, although not as good as the first time, but then the unthinkable happened.
My MS Word subscription ran out. None of my documents in docx format work. I can open them, but they're read only. I can't even copy and paste. WHAT. THE. FUCK. AT LEAST LET ME COPY AND PASTE IT INTO WORDPAD, IT'S MY FREAKING WORK!!
Of course, I still had to finish my Humanities paper that night, so after a few moments of freaking out I decided to try saving it on my flashdrive and work on it on the desktop. Thankfully that worked, so I finished my paper. I didn't want to deal with my oneshot after that, so it has sat locked on my laptop since then.
What a piece of shit. Now I have to download my sister's MS Office so that I can do anything beyond read my documents.
I could technically just retype everything, but there's NO WAY I'm doing that, that would take too long. Of course, by now I have forgotten my new way of fixing my plot hole, so I have to sit and think about it again. I haven't been able to concentrate on it as of late, though. Most of the thunder of the idea is gone. :/
But it's SUMMER, so I should have plenty of time to get back into the idea again. XD
Still on the topic of fanfiction, The Village Square's monthly contest is still plugging along. I haven't entered since January, with my fanfic All I Deserve (the theme was Opposites). But this month (er, last month), I manged to get inspired by the theme Secrets, and wrote a funny little oneshot called Dirty Little Pleasure.
The title is a little misleading, since it's only T in rating because of very mild language, but whatever. XD It fits, I think. Surprisingly, it's a crossdressing fic. I just got so amused by the idea of Jake from Rune Factory 2 (the most angry character in the game) dressed up as a french maid that I couldn't help myself. XDDD I BLAME KINGDOM HEARTS FANFICTION XPPP
Voting started last night at midnight, and I put in my votes a couple hours ago at my grandma's. It was sooooo hard to pick. I managed to narrow it down to 7, but after that it got real painful. DX
I really don't think I'll win, because the contest focuses on Harvest Moon more than Rune Factory, and my fic is something only a select few will like and probably vote for. I think that's the reason why the last time I entered I only got 1 vote - then again, I was probably lucky that I got one, because there were so many entries that some people didn't get any votes at all. There's more votes allowed this time, but I have a feeling that quite a few are going to end up unloved. ^^;
Plus, I think my entry the last time was a lot better than this one. And there's so many other amazing entries, I really don't think I'll win. I will be pleasantly surprised if I even get a vote. XD
This weekend is the 4th of July~ I'm excited. Normally we go to my uncle's house on the lake and watch the fireworks over the water, but I think this time I'm going out with some friends Saturday to watch some somewhere in downtown Detroit. Should be fun; I don't head that way very often, and it has been a long time since I've seen some people.
I really want to hang out with Andrea, though, that's pretty much the only reason I'm going - she said I should. XD;

The past week and the beginning of this one was just TERRIBLE and STRESSFUL.
I absolutely despise the paper assigned to us by my Humanities paper. It's so out of my element. :/ We had to take some piece of art/architecture from the metropolitan Detroit area and write a research paper.
I wasn't completely clear on what we were supposed to DO, and that's just so broad of a subject that I was just at a loss for what to do. I ended up putting it off, and, the day it was due, I had nothing.
Since the paper was a third of our grade, I had to come up with SOMETHING, no matter how terrible, because otherwise I would fail the class. Which would be a very very bad idea. D: I ended up deciding on Thursday night (it was due that afternoon) to do my school, since the architecture is pretty cool and I figured the information would be simple to get, I did have the library of the same college to root through.
Boy was I wrong. It was IMPOSSIBLE to find anything on the buildings themselves. I couldn't even find the damn architects. DX The only name that came up was Perkins and Will, but when I searched it nothing for the school came up. :/ And there were absolutely no records available to me on campus.

Trigonometry has also been kicking my ass. I really hope I did decently on my final today, although I'm not confident at all. The entire second section was just one big train wreck. DX Edit: I just got my grade from my teacher. I completely BOMBED it, like I thought I did. I got an F, leaving me with a C in the class. DDDX Damn it, that just totally toasted my grade point average. DX
But, there is ONE good thing about today: I AM FREEEEEEEEE~ <3 Until September, anyway.
I only get like, a half of summer. ;_; I'm never taking summer classes again. D: It was just baaaaaaaad.

The past week and the beginning of this one was just TERRIBLE and STRESSFUL.
I absolutely despise the paper assigned to us by my Humanities paper. It's so out of my element. :/ We had to take some piece of art/architecture from the metropolitan Detroit area and write a research paper.
I wasn't completely clear on what we were supposed to DO, and that's just so broad of a subject that I was just at a loss for what to do. I ended up putting it off, and, the day it was due, I had nothing.
Since the paper was a third of our grade, I had to come up with SOMETHING, no matter how terrible, because otherwise I would fail the class. Which would be a very very bad idea. D: I ended up deciding on Thursday night (it was due that afternoon) to do my school, since the architecture is pretty cool and I figured the information would be simple to get, I did have the library of the same college to root through.
Boy was I wrong. It was IMPOSSIBLE to find anything on the buildings themselves. I couldn't even find the damn architects. DX The only name that came up was Perkins and Will, but when I searched it nothing for the school came up. :/ And there were absolutely no records available to me on campus.

Quite honestly I'm not very surprised.
On another note, I finally get to spend time working on the collab. :3 Raven has already started, and it has been my turn for a while now, but I've just been so busy and stressed that I couldn't get myself to work on it.
But Raven seriously needs some help, though. He really rushed it the first time he wrote his section, it sounded more like a summary than anything else. So I told him to flesh it out, and he explained that he was trying to cut down on unnecessary babble and just get on with the story. I told him that there was a fine line between too much information and not enough, and that he crosssed the line a little bit, and he agreed to work on it.
The problem is, now he's adding unnecessary details. He definitely needed more detail, but not the kind he's adding. :/ It's just BORING. I told him to include what his character sees and experiences, but he's not good at that, apparently.
The only reason I'm really bugging him about it is that I know that there are some of us who use a lot of detail when writing (myself included). We have to be able to shape this into a cohesive style, something we missed out on last time, which caused it to suffer.
Taylor and I have our work cut out for us as betas. ^^;;; We have a lot of new people who are pretty young, and we have no idea on their writing skill. I expect to be rearranging sentences so that it flows better a lot; I've already run into that with Raven. Taylor and I have decided that she would go through it first, fixing minor things like spelling and grammar, and anything awkward that she decides is bad enough to merit changing. Since I have more guts to tear things apart, I'll go through it and fix the flow and try and mesh the style into something more singular.
It will still be their writing, I'm not going to completely tear it apart or anything, I'm just going to FIX it, like I would as anyone else's beta.
So yeah. :3
I came up with a oneshot idea a couple of days back. But I had a little tiny plot hole, so I had been brainstorming ways to fix it. Fortunately, Sunday night as I was going to sleep I figured it out completely. Satisfied, I went to sleep.
I really wish I had thought to WRITE IT DOWN, because I had completely forgotten what I had planned by Monday afternoon, when I finally had time to work on it. :/
That night I sat down and tried to rack my brain for the information, but it didn't come. I managed to piece together another way to fix it, although not as good as the first time, but then the unthinkable happened.
My MS Word subscription ran out. None of my documents in docx format work. I can open them, but they're read only. I can't even copy and paste. WHAT. THE. FUCK. AT LEAST LET ME COPY AND PASTE IT INTO WORDPAD, IT'S MY FREAKING WORK!!
Of course, I still had to finish my Humanities paper that night, so after a few moments of freaking out I decided to try saving it on my flashdrive and work on it on the desktop. Thankfully that worked, so I finished my paper. I didn't want to deal with my oneshot after that, so it has sat locked on my laptop since then.
What a piece of shit. Now I have to download my sister's MS Office so that I can do anything beyond read my documents.
I could technically just retype everything, but there's NO WAY I'm doing that, that would take too long. Of course, by now I have forgotten my new way of fixing my plot hole, so I have to sit and think about it again. I haven't been able to concentrate on it as of late, though. Most of the thunder of the idea is gone. :/
But it's SUMMER, so I should have plenty of time to get back into the idea again. XD
Still on the topic of fanfiction, The Village Square's monthly contest is still plugging along. I haven't entered since January, with my fanfic All I Deserve (the theme was Opposites). But this month (er, last month), I manged to get inspired by the theme Secrets, and wrote a funny little oneshot called Dirty Little Pleasure.
The title is a little misleading, since it's only T in rating because of very mild language, but whatever. XD It fits, I think. Surprisingly, it's a crossdressing fic. I just got so amused by the idea of Jake from Rune Factory 2 (the most angry character in the game) dressed up as a french maid that I couldn't help myself. XDDD I BLAME KINGDOM HEARTS FANFICTION XPPP
Voting started last night at midnight, and I put in my votes a couple hours ago at my grandma's. It was sooooo hard to pick. I managed to narrow it down to 7, but after that it got real painful. DX
I really don't think I'll win, because the contest focuses on Harvest Moon more than Rune Factory, and my fic is something only a select few will like and probably vote for. I think that's the reason why the last time I entered I only got 1 vote - then again, I was probably lucky that I got one, because there were so many entries that some people didn't get any votes at all. There's more votes allowed this time, but I have a feeling that quite a few are going to end up unloved. ^^;
Plus, I think my entry the last time was a lot better than this one. And there's so many other amazing entries, I really don't think I'll win. I will be pleasantly surprised if I even get a vote. XD
This weekend is the 4th of July~ I'm excited. Normally we go to my uncle's house on the lake and watch the fireworks over the water, but I think this time I'm going out with some friends Saturday to watch some somewhere in downtown Detroit. Should be fun; I don't head that way very often, and it has been a long time since I've seen some people.
I really want to hang out with Andrea, though, that's pretty much the only reason I'm going - she said I should. XD;
BUT I'M SUPER EXCITED ANYWAY. 8D
