Halloween Halloween Halloween, what does the name mean to you!!  As a child it was one of my personal favourites on top of the list next to Christmas!  A spooky time of the year where anything goes.  We walked the streets unattended, dressed up as monsters, demons, ghosts you name it we wore it from bin bags down to fangs and fake blood, oh yes Halloween! And the good ole days where we could truly express our fantasies and trick or treat used to mean exactly that and not your car window being put through if you didn’t oblige.  So what happened to the community over the years, what happened to the true spirit of Halloween connecting to those in your local village or town, staying out late par taking in a home cookie, toffee apple and the bag of goodies, your reward for the night.

In today’s times there are even those misguided souls wishing to get Halloween banned completely as they can’t understand the distinction between Halloween and its origins celebrations such as Samhain or All Souls Day.  If we take away Halloween we will soon be left with very little, while the spiritual elements of Halloween are worth looking at those who cower under their beds during this time as what they believe to be evil, miss the point entirely.

While there are valid reasons NOT to celebrate the secular or spiritual side to Halloween there is no justification to assume your six year old constructing a witches hat is in fact “serving the devil”.  So whatever your views or religion, remember what this time of the year means to the children and some of us adults who still love Halloween.  Make it a celebration, dress up, play some games, trick or treat and share your fun with others.

From the whole team at www.costumefinder.co.uk this Halloween stay safe and stay happy.

Second part of Pow Wow Pictures

1.  This is the Woman's Head dancer and the start of the women's part of Grand Entry.  Golden Age women follow the Head Lady dancer.  Again the Head dancers help out in the areana and make sure folks are where they need to be at.

2.  These lovely ladies are the Golden Age women.  Primary tradational dancers with a few Jingle Dress Dancers.  I loved watching these ladies!  They can move!  Put some of the younger women to shame I tell ya!

3.  This is the Women's tradational dancers.  There is a variety of dresses because it all depends on what tribe they are representing and what specific catagory in tradational they are dancing.  Aren't these dresses and hair peices beautiful?

4.  This is the back view of the Women's tradational.  I thought you all should see how some of the hair peices are and more of the dresses.

5.  These ladies are the Fancy Shall Dancers.  Notice that a lot of the Tradational Women Dancers carry shalls also, the difference is the tradational ladies have their shalls looped over their arm to dance, the Fancy Shall dancers are drapped over their shoulders and they dance and make the shalls fly when they dance their stories.

6.  This is the Women's Jingle Dress Dancers.  This specific style is usually what most young girls do because they make so much noise!:D  I have a lot of friends that use to dance this style when they were competing for their tribe's Pow wow princesses when we were teenagers.

my topic today :  prom songs. my school posted a request sheet for songs that grads and other prom attending students can request songs. i figured we would get alot of stupid crappy songs that nobody relly likes, and with the onset of grad choir [which shouldve been started earlier, but thats another day], all the different song that could be used has really surfaced. so, i have created my Own list of prom songs. ....Alot could be used for graduation too, i suppose,, especially Baz Lurhman- Everybodys Free [to wear Sunscreen].

Now where was I, Oh yeah Libra! Poetry for You and Me

Howdy Howdy all!

Diffuse a situation and they keep sniping-cool!

You ever get the feeling some people are crappier than you thought? Oh well, sucks for them I guess.

Libra is my Rising sign so and I recently met one that I think I may indeed FANCY so this will be an indepth look at the Sun Sign Smiley

Well I am back with your sun sign fun and Libra is what's on tap! So let's talk about what we know of them. Well they rock, are well spoken and oh so indecicive at times (which I think is cute sometimes) Oh and did I mention that some can be easily led? Also a lot of fun at times! Well they are also quite the diplomats people which is a much bigger plus than the other two points I mentioned! Not to mention many of them tend to have very balanced physical characteristics and so can be very easy on the eyes! How about some basics?

Symbol: The Scales Ruling Planet: Venus
Element: Air Cross/Quality: Cardinal
Group: Intellectual House Ruled: Seventh
Polarity: Positive Opposite Sign: Aries
Favorable Colors: Blues
& Pastels
Lucky Gem: Sapphire & Jade
Key Body Part: Kidneys
& Skin
Period: Sept. 23 - Oct. 22

Cosmopolitan, sociable, happy, generous, realistic, charming, gracious, affectionate,  balanced,  diplomatic, easy-going, elegant, charming, flirtatious, committed, objective but can be indecisive, emotionally complex, vague, dependent, argumentative, depressed, materialistic, superficial, self-indulgent, easily-offended.

Now if you had to put them in a category they would be the Popular kids at school. You know the ones, they wear the right clothes, say the right things, and EVERYONE loves them, even the nerds in the AV club! Yep, they have it like that and those who hang with them are cool by association... so grab a Libra and hold on tight if the in-crowd is your cup of tea (or java, or Jack, or soda pop--Libras are so easy going they dont mind what you drink as long as you remain polite and never leave them to do something alone.

KEYWORDS: artistic, diplomatic    PHRASE: I BALANCE

Their opposite sign is Aries, and it is likely because the chaotic Aries runs wild and loose while our tender little Libra teen is trying to include everyone without stepping on any toes (they have to realize that no matter what someone is gonna have beef with what goes down).

The natural House for Libra is The house of partnership and commitment. "We're a team damn-it" that's their creddo and aint it ever so nice?

Diplomaitic and urbane
Romantic and charming
Easygoing and sociable
Idealistic and peaceable

Indecisive and changeable
Gullible and easily infuenced
Flirtatious and self-indulgent

    LIKES
  • The finer things in life
  • Sharing
  • conviviality
  • Gentleness
    DISLIKES
  • Violence
  • Injustice
  • Brutishness
  • Being a slave to fashion

Libra is the only inanimate sign of the zodiac, all the others representing either humans or animals. Many modern astrologers regard it as the most desirable of zodiacal types because it represents the zenith of the year, the high point of the seasons, when the harvest of all the hard work of the spring is reaped.

Librans too are among the most civilized of the twelve zodiacal characters and are often good looking. They have elegance, charm and good taste, are naturally kind, very gentle, and lovers of beauty, harmony (both in music and social living) and the pleasures that these bring.

Librans are sensitive to the needs of others and have the gift, sometimes to an almost psychic extent, of understanding the emotional needs of their companions and meeting them with their own innate optimism - they are the kind of people of whom it is said, "They always make you feel better for having been with them." They are very social human beings. They loathe cruelty, viciousness and vulgarity and detest conflict between people, so they do their best to cooperate and compromise with everyone around them, and their ideal for their own circle and for society as a whole is unity. (yep that last sentence is what I am all about--in case you couldnt tell).

They like the opposite sex to the extent of promiscuity sometimes, and may indulge in romanticism bordering on sentimentality. Their marriages, however, stand a good chance of success because they are frequently the union of "true minds". The Libran's continuing kindness toward his or her partner mollifies any hurt the latter may feel if the two have had a tiff. Nor can the Libran's spouse often complain that he or she is not understood, for the Libran is usually the most empathetic of all the zodiacal types and the most ready to tolerate the beloved's failings. Their love of pleasure may lead them into extravagance; Libran men can degenerate into reckless gamblers, and Libran women extravagant, jealous and careless about money sometimes squander their wealth and talents in their overenthusiasm for causes which they espouse.

Well that's all for now...How about some poetry....here goes....(no replacement for you you you)

If You Were Coming in the Fall

If you were coming in the fall,
I'd brush the summer by
With half a smile and half a spum,
As housewives do a fly.

If I could see you in a year,
I'd wind the months in balls,
And put them each in separate drawers,
Until their time befalls.

If only centuries delayed,
I'd count them on my hand,
Subtracting till my fingers dropped
Into Van Diemen's land.

If certain, when this life was out,
That yours and mine should be,
I'd toss it yonder like a rind,
And taste eternity.

But now, all ignorant of the length
Of time's uncertain wing,
It goads me, like the goblin bee,
That will not state its sting. --Emily Dickinson
