Falling @ MindSay

She's a stealer of the covers
Uh oh. I think I may be in a little over my head this time. Or maybe it's right. I just don't know. Can't tell. Or have I gotten fuzzy again? Was I ever clear to begin with?

I hate country music. Yet having one song played for me to express his emotion almost made me cry. Ok, did make me cry. Any girl would I think. Britt certainly got girlie on me when I told her.

I despise rap and hip hop. But when we're in the car and he's "acting the fool" and trying his best to explain to me what that means I can't stop laughing.

I never wanted a military life style. But here I am preparing to spend three weeks without him because of a training exercise. Then another six months in September while he's away at war. Such shocking words to me. Six months in the desert. Away from me.  In the war. For six months. What the fuck?

I didn't think I could feel this passionately about anyone ever again. But I find myself wondering where the hell this is going to end up.

And then I wonder if I'm really ready for this. Am I ok with turning away from everything I've held on to for so long and really allowing this to become my life?

And then I look at my phone. My messages. My received calls. And I know somewhere deep down that I'll never completely let that go. I can't. To do that would be to admit this whole time that I was wrong. That it meant nothing. I know that's not true.

But now, I don't really know what's true.

And I certainly don't know what the fuck to do.

The blues they sent to meet me

There is a good number of songs that make me happy but the following number is up there with the best. It's that old classic "Raindrops keep falling on my head". The one I grew up with was the version by BJ Thomas.

This song was famously used in the movie "Butch cassidy and the sundance kid". It's a really fun and happy song to sing.

A lot of people on Youtube found it quite uplifting. Some liked it so much, that they made their own version :)

Here is my performance:

I have had another two subscribers since my last post.

The total now stands at 349.

I am very close to having over 100,000 video views. That's a big milestone. This should hopefully clock over in the next few days. My channel views are also approaching a landmark figure of 10,000. It should be too long before that happens. Maybe a week or two.

The next song is a 70's classic from Bobby Goldsboro.

Snow day in review

This morning my coworker and I were talking about poop of all things. That's how it goes when you work with infants and toddlers, you talk about poop a lot. Well, all bodily functions are up for grabs, but that is the most common one. It all started out during breakfast and one of the kids in the highchairs was very obviously trying to poop (face turning red, eyes all watery).

Coworker:  There is no way all that stink came from you! There was like half a rabbit turd!

Me:  Why a half a rabbit turd? Why not a full one? Have you ever noticed that rabbit poop is larger than deer poop? That makes no sense! Rabbits are way smaller than deer!

Coworker:  And how do they poop while walking?

Me:  I never thought of that! Humans squat, dogs squat, cats squat. I wonder how that all works.

You would think we would have better things to talk about than poop. We really do have odd conversations.

At 9:30 we are informed that the schools we are part of are closing and the school agers will be there starting at about 11:00, so all of our break schedules get shifted.

At about 12:00 we are informed that the vice president of our school district has decided that the child care centers will be closing at 3:00. Then we begin the fun of calling all our parents (the whole whopping six parents) to pick up their children by 3:00. Our first child did not leave until 2:00; three left within a fifteen minute window. Our last ones left at 2:50, 3:00, and 3:05. All this time they are telling us how horrible the roads are. NO SHIT THE ROADS ARE HORRIBLE! WHY THE FUCK DO YOU THINK WE ARE CLOSING AT 3:00!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! The roads probably wouldn't have been so bad if they had plowed before they threw the salt and sand down on the roads.

Within the past half hour, I went to throw my garbage in the dumpster and paper/cardboard into the recycle bin. Right next to the little shack the recycle bin is in, I slipped on the ice and fell. Good thing I had my hands full or else I probably would have put my arm out and ended up breaking something. Anyways, get up (rather sore and covered in snow), throw the garbage in the dumpster, and pick up all my papers (I hope) and throw them in the bin, and hobble back to my building/apartment. Call the landlord, tell him I have owies.

I kinda wish I would have brought my heat pad from my parents' place. My back and hip are killing me. So that was my Snow Day in review....lol....hope it was enjoyable.

Guess the terrorist won eh gwb.?

The dollar’s slide: 1/3 down and falling faster

The ailing US currency drops through $1.47 against the euro and $2.10 against sterling, it merits a second (and updated) airing.

The chart comes from Sempra Metals, who make a couple of additional points:

  • The US dollar has now lost more than a third of its value (-35%) against a basket of major currencies since Feb 2002.
  • The decline is accelerating. The USD has shed -12.5% of its value in the last year, -3.5% in the last month, and -1.5% in the last week alone.

WHO THE HELL IS IN CHARGE ON THIS WATCH TO LET THIS HAPPEN ???
OH yeah, our fearless leader gwb.

Stock up NOW kids  this don't look good.!!!

Hey I've got five sheets of toilet paper I'll trade you for fifty singles!!!

Guess the terrorist won eh gwb.

Word of advice Spices are a good bet !  Just look it up through out history.

i hope cats always land on their feet

twice this week I have fallen from dizzying heights and lived to eat again. both were the fault of the stupid and chaotic animals I let live with me. there are some changes going on  behind the white dors and I finally got in to check it all out. new floor and its warm as summer and the places with all the watrer are sitting in the glass box they keep closed. I am only giving you this as background because a damgerous state of entropy is taking over my home and has led to these two mishaps.

first they blocked my  cat walk with cloth and I tried jumping over it anyway and instead fell back into the firbox room. it was about 12-15 cat lengths and I landed on the padding. then a few days later calico and i were sitting on the flower chair up stairs when i walked over a soft cover to nuzzle her and there was no floor underneath the cover. That fall was maybe 20 cat lengths... way to much excitement for me. Calico looked concerned and I hide for a while under the table. she crawled under it with me and dangled knots and stroked me. It was nice of her to try to calm me down. Lord knows I have done it for her enough times. But all is well.

I wish the changes would stop, why can't these animals leave well enough alone? order please !!
