These are heady days -- Eric and I are on the hunt for our first home. Can it be that our life in the shadow of Wal-Mart will soon be coming to an end? Yes, it can. And while there are advantages to a 400-step commute to a 24-hour Wal-Mart, we are very excited about the alternative.

Before we began this latest venture, nothing bored me more than HGTV. I didn't even watch that much TV. Now, I can happily watch marathons of "National Open House," "What You Get For the Money" and "If Walls Could Talk." I have learned the definition of "short sale" and "radon mitigation" and can distinguish a gambrel from a colonial. I am lodging-obsessed AND I LOVE IT.

We went for our first viewing over the weekend and I would have happily made an offer on the spot; while Eric really liked the house as well, we both figured that might be a big hasty.

As an update to my previous post, my search for a cute garlic keeper was relatively successful! Etsy did come through for me in the end:

garlic hut

While it still has the traditional garlic keeper shape, at least it's not that blah unpainted terracotta.

a place to lay my herbs

For several months I have been on a casual but frustrating hunt for a cute garlic keeper, and can't for the life of me figure out who mandated that every garlic keeper has to look like this:

The ugliness pains me! That said, I did find this much cuter garlic keeper on a New Zealand website, proving that cute garlic keepers do exist, if not on this continent:

My hope is that I can find something decent on Etsy. Who would have thought that a cute garlic house would be so hard to find?

Uh oh hello
I explained what that meant to me. That someone else got what was promised to me. I got my point across. And now he understands. Is the beginning again? Starting over, not from scratch and certainly not as just friends. But something more? Could I really get my hopes that high? He's so proud of me right now though. And it's so much more complicated. There's another person involved this time. A complete and total innocent. A safe and loving, adoring partner. Who thus far has kept me sane and supported me. I'm not sure I can do this to him.

The Etsy isn't going so well. The cleaning business is going fantastically though! I have two new accounts, both are turning out to be fairly profitable. And one more to add on Tuesday. Very nice. Very nice indeed.

Let's see where all of this ends up and if it will even matter in five years.

I'm so enterprising right now. I think now that I'm comfortable, or at least safe for a bit, I've started focusing on where the rest of my life is going.

As of now, I have two business ventures:
A - Cleaning houses. I have three houses now that I clean on a regular basis. Nice houses kept by already tidy people. They just need a little extra time to themselves. Which I totally understand.
B - Bathsalts. On Etsy.

I am testing out my store on Etsy. I want to see if I can go into another avenue with my abilities. Wanna see? I only put 2 things up to see how well they do. Let me know what you think. I really hope that this works out. I need something a bit more solid to add to my repertoire.
