Elliott Smith @ MindSay

I'm so glad that my memories remote...
'Cos i'm doing just fine hour to hour, note to note
Here it is the revenge to the tune
"You're no good,
You're no good you're no good you're no good"
Can't you tell that it's well understood...

After being here at Mindsay for some time now, I have seen many come and go over this period. Some have passed quietly, slipping off into the darkness never to be heard from again; and others have publicly announced their intensions and gone forth with them, and this is not even mentioning those who have false starts at leaving or those who never actually left, but rather morphed into someone else...

And yet I remain...

But the thing that has me wondering is if I left would anyone even notice my passing? Would anyone care that I was no longer here writing all the thoughts that spiral into the black hole of my soul or the thoughts that become stuck upon the even horizon only to be drawn out as spaghetti then ripped apart? Would it even matter if all the things that pour forth from my being suddenly dried up and floated off into the clouds? Would my final dying gasp make it to the Top Blogs?

And so these are my happy thoughts that I feel the overwhelming urge to write about and post to everyone for my universe is not a secret as I place them upon the Information SuperHighway. I don't have to hide all the things that I find within the dusty corners of my existence. I do not feel the need to have a Friends-Only Blog...

I am here and this is me and my thoughts at this moment in time, stripped of all colour, out in public view for all to see...

And if I moved on, would anyone follow? Would anyone walk with me down the path of desolation? Would any of this be of importance to anyone other than myself?

This is the Word of the AntiCrust...

Praise be ye who Read the Word for ye are Blessed amongst humans...

Psssttt, hey buddy. Yeah, you. Over here...

Come over here...

Hey, man, just got me a shipment in so I can once again tell the world of the glories of the Flavour of the Week...

Old business? Well, I suppose that there is plenty of that to go around if there happened to be someone here at the Home Office to do it...

New business? Yep, got plenty of that as well. For instance, the old group of which became this here Blog thing has turned into a spamfest with anyone and everyone selling something that we all really need...

Would the secretary please read the minutes from our last meeting?

Seems as if there aren't any issues that need to be addressed at this time. So we shall move onto the reasons why we are all gathered here today - the Flavour of the Week...

Bank of a Boston beauty queen

Finally got to watch Good Will Hunting.

6 (Count them!!!) Elliott Smith songs. That makes me unbelievably happy.

"Why not just shoot my buddy, take his job and give it to his sworn enemy, hike up gas prices, bomb a village, club a baby seal, hit the hash pipe and join the National Guard? I could be elected president."

Here For You
10/29/03 - Elliott Smith just committed suicide when I wrote this (I had spelled his name "Elliot Smith" 'cause I was an idiot!!). I think this lyric's kinda dumb, but it's here for your entertainment. I found it tonight.

Also for
aprincess87
since she's in pain, but not that kind of pain!

When everything crashes and life clashes with your dreams
It makes you angry, like you want to stop to believe
But you'll have to trust me
I think it just must be one of those times
Don't give up now You can't just kiss it goodbye

You're not a burden, don't draw the curtain now
Don't be so certain that you want to take a bow
I know I can't talk you out of
What you're sure of, so let me cry
I know the pain is strong, but it will pass by

I remember when we thought it would get better
And since we both know that's not true
Don't keep to yourself, trying to stay put together
Don't you know why I'm here? I'm here for you

"those things you tell yourself, they'll kill you in time..."- Elliott Smith

So, yeah- I went and saw this movie called Broken Flowers last night.  It's a new Bill Murray movie, and it's an indie- kinda like Lost in Translation.  This movie is a lot funnier than LiT, but it's just as strange (the ending will kill you).  It's about this guy who's always been a bachelor and hooked up with a lot of ladies, but never wants to settle down.  One day he gets a mysterious note- from what is assumed to be a former flame-telling him he has a 19 year old son.  So he, with some help of a quirky novelist neighbor, sets out to find some of his past loves and to find his son.  It's a really great film.  There are a lot of quite scenes, though, where nothing really happens.  I don't know- it's just got a really sweet vibe.  Check it out.

Oh, if you haven't, run out and buy the new Switchfoot CD- Nothing is Sound.  It's great! jon Foreman channels a little bit a' Bono in some of the tracks- but still manages to keep his own great sound.  It's not as out there with the religious speak as The Beautiful Letdown was- which is equally good and bad, but you can still sense their faith- especially on "The Shadow Proves The Sunshine."

I just finished season 1 of LOST.  that show is pretty amazing.  It's really gripping.  I mean, at first I thought, "oh a bunch of people stranded on an X-Files-type island.  Not that interesting."  But I watched the whole season in 7 nights.  The acting is great, the stories are more than interesting, and there is a bunch of great action (and even a few scares, too).  Anyway, if you have the chance, if you didn't follow season 1, rent it and get up to date.  New season starts Sept. 21.

Speaking of new seasons- Nip/Tuck starts Sept. 20 (and season 2 is out on DVD now).  The Office also starts Tuesday- really get in on that one- Steve Carrell is absolutely hilarious!

Alright, I'm out to get ready for work.  Blog safely and live long in prosper...
