Eliot Spitzer @ MindSay

Gonads Pass Quietly into the West
Ok, we're all fixated on the "Fall of Spitzer." Let me see the hooker's web page, her music, her name. Let me look at her chest and face, and let me judge the woman. Let me read into every intimate detail of Eliot Spitzer's financial dealings and his sexual proclivities. After all that, I come to the same conclusion everyone else did: Yupper, he's guilty.

Of what is he guilty? Wasting inordinate sums of money, sleeping with a woman decades younger than he was on VALENTINE'S DAY, being a hypocrite, and transferring money out of his bank account.  All kidding aside, this is ironic but frightening.

I dislike the guy for my own reasons, as his investigations, which started with the best of intentions, quickly devolved into a full-fledged witch hunt on the whole financial industry.  Is this guy a villain and a scumbag? Undoubtedly. Should he go to prison?  Not for this. I don't want my bank spying on me, even though I don't frequent prostitutes or launder money.  I think prostitution should be regulated by states, too.

Spitzer and Bush have created this monster, so it may be fitting that one or the other would fall under the financial police state they have created.  Even so, let's work to correct the situation where our banks are forced to act as agents and spies of the state.  Stop joining in the festival of destruction and demand the repeal of the police state.  Don't do it for Mr. Spitzer...do it for you.

That's Right You Ungrateful Wives. . .

According to Dr. Laura, if your husband cheats, you share the blame because you've pushed away "perfectly good men by not treating them with the love and kindness and respect and attention they need."  These are her words on the Today Show during her interview with Meredith Vierra while discussing the Spitzer scandal.

My take on the Spitzer scandal is this: A lot of times, powerful men get to where they are by being risk takers. Enron's Jeff Skilling was known to enjoy wild vacations where he engaged in extreme sports. The type of cheating Spitzer engaged in was high risk because he enjoyed prostitutes. He didn't cheat with a mistress (as far as we know) because that would have required some sort of a relationship. He had sex with prostitutes because it was illicit, dangerous  and he didn't have to become emotionally involved with the women.  He objectified them and paid for their services. The end.  It was kinky, non-committal sex.  This had more to do with him being freaky than it had to do with his wife not giving him what he needed.  Considering the fact that Dr. Laura was the other woman to the man she now calls her husband, I can see why she needs to believe her absurd theory.  Not to worry though, what goes around comes around.

hypocracy at its finest?

so im guessing spitzer is big news everywhere huh?

of course all the major news networks in the ny area are all about showing the news conference spitzer just had...resigning.  when i first heard the news (of course only wnbc was the one to break the news as i was watching days of our lives) i was quite shocked.  i really did like eliot spitzer when he ran for gov.  there was something about him that just made him i dunno...believable?

what i dont get is why it seems everytime a democrat screws up angry republicans come on the news and say he MUST resign!  yet when a republican screws up....nada.  i have no opinion either way.  of course what he did was illegal.  any regular guy would be thrown into jail.  but hes a politician and im sure there are plenty of others that are client number whatever.  i just think if he is still able to do the job like other republicans ahem bathroom dude (sorry i have mom amnesia and cant think of his name right now...larry craig?).  hes still in office.  i was watching cnn the other day about how one of bill clintons major opponents back in the day called for his resignation/impeachment and then months later HE was in hot water with prostitutes.  yet no one gave him any pressures.

on the other hand spitzer is a hypocrite.  i feel soo bad for his wife.  of course all eyes are going to be on her next move...will she leave him?  wont she?  its tough.

as for american idol-im feeling bleh about this season.  actually violent.  from my emails to toot he knows how i feel about amanda crackhead wahtever her last name is.  she totally rubs me the wrong way.  my blood just boils when i see her face.  her voice is just too annoying.  its liike she has a skittle up her nose that wont come out.

Governor Spitzer Loves Them Ho's
And I really don't care since prostitution should be legal anyway. I do, however understand why people are up in arms though since Spitzer was supposed to be Mr. Law and Order plus he is reportedly a major douchebag.
But what really makes me all giddy are the two side effects of Spitzer's love of high priced hookers:

1. The picture of the shamed politician and his pissed off/humiliated spouse

Nothing beats the site of Sen. David Vitter's wife in her Peg Bundy influenced leopard print smock but the site of a boiling under the surface Silda Spitzer standing next to her skeevy hubby makes my black heart grow warm with happiness.

2. We get a black, blind guy (or should that be blind, black guy?) to take over Spitzer's gig!

And it doesn't hurt that David Paterson is a really smart, true-blue progressive who has fought for those ideals from Harlem to the state Senate and all the way to the Governor's mansion.

Eliot Spitzer. WTF?
So, as I’m sure you know by now, the holier-than-thou Governor of New York and father of three daughters, Eliot Spitzer, aka “Client 9,” has been busted for his involvement in a prostitution ring.

Of course, this follows the other insanely hypocritical scandal from the other side of the aisle, that of Idaho Senator Larry "wide stance" Craig.

The most recent coverage from elsewhere has state officials in New York calling for Spitzer’s resignation.

The only way I can describe all of this is “unbelievable,” but, share your own thoughts in the comments.
