Electricity @ MindSay

Dear Diary

Alright. So i keep a journal (and i do not mean a website or blog) I mean the old fashion ones with paper and pen.
People tend to think of this as obsolete  (i have had friends tell me this in an inderect way)  in a society full of technology, but I would rather keep one that is tangible (since I am tactile). Also, what if for some reason, like it happened not too long ago, electronics ceased to work for, lets say, a natural disaster? Then what? During the hurricane Ike I recorded everything, even what was heard in the radio station.

See, I for one grew up writing my thoughts since I've always been a rather quite gal. Of course they are not for the public to read, at least when I'm alive, but they are a great memory or recording of how much has change throughout my life.

Alright now, don't want to get too personal. But to all those who believe it to be obsolete or "feminine" or touchy feely, it really is not. Now I'm not sure why I'm writing about this. This was a random entry, just wanted to type something i guess. Knowing me, I'll probably have more to say after i post this...i hate when i do that...oh well, don't wan't to edit all my entrys hehe.
Anyways, I'm going to my trusted diary, or journal if you will hehe. Night!

Ps. Typed in "Diary" and found this site, pretty cool i guess...http://www.my-diary.org/

Oh not to mention, history was recorded in journals right? For example, Annie Frank. Good book too^_^ Quite the inspiration. In fact, she is who inspired me to write, even if was or is nonsence.

But hey i found this journal in Barnes and Noble and am planning to purchase it as soon as i finish this one that i am working on right now. >.^....wait just looked for it....IT'S NOT THERE!!! :( :( I must search for it now! Of course it's not about the fashion of the book,  but I have a weekness for sofcover, brown leather journals hehe. Something like this...ohh yeah.

Hurray for Diarys, i mean Journals!

Holy Frikken Crap!
Aaaaaaaaaand, we're back.

The power at home has been off since the 18th. Yikes. We got it back today, and I am ever so thankful. I can shower in my own home! WOO! I can do my own laundry! YAY!

Most importantly, though, I have my precious lappy back. I had to wipe the hard drive and start again, but it's still better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick, as they say.

Today was day one of week two at work. Gods, people are stupid. That's all I can think to say at the moment on that subject.

So, I'm in the midst of fixing lappy the way I like him to be and trying to catch up on all my intarwebbing.

More later.

Ungrateful? Maybe. Bored? Yes.

After 8 days without power, here I sit, in the living room, laptop in my lap, TV tuned to one of those many one hour crime drama shows my wife likes that has the same damn premise every week, with a little tweak here and there, the same old characters, and a nice little wrap up at the end. The kind of TV I hate. We've eaten a dinner of spinach pizza, dessert of a little ice cream, a cigarette or two for me, now it's just vegging out for the both of us.

And yet here I sit bored. The 8 nights without lights, the dark without illumination, no contact with the "outside" world via email, cell phone, or home phone seemed like an eternity of life inside the dark ages. I thought in vain how happy I'd be when we had power again, the chance to be in contact online, on the phone, having lights in the john, hot showers, clean clothes....etc.

It's back to the same old boring routine.

At least when the electric was out I didn't have to endure reruns of NCIS, CSI, and BONES.

God take me now.

POWER!

Well, awoke today to POWER!!! I couldn't believe me eyes! Everything works as it once did back in the olden days (8 days to be exact) before electricity. Unfortunately we have plenty of food to toss out, but I am most thankful I survived without going crazy. In the mental state I've been in, it was very difficult to deal with the constant darkness every night, it seemed the air teemed more with evil, the pungency of the dark lord (can you tell I've been reading Tolkien?) a mist upon the fair land.

I'm slowly feeling better from the meds fiasco, but not up to par yet. I missed a few days of work which won't be good for the paycheck, but money isn't everything, and the Lord knows our needs and troubles, I know He will help us through. I won't lie to you and say it has been easy to trust in Him in these last few days of inward and outward darkness, and I've felt too weak to pray, too mentally drained to think straight. I pray God will forgive me for my weakness.

But I'm glad to be back online, back to hot showers, soon back to cooking instead of McDs (which I'm sure made a killing off the community during the outage), back to normalcy.

I also hope in the days to come as my mind continues to clear, lessons given over the past 8 days will become learned and I will be better prepared for next time. I also hope this will give me a new appreciation for those around the world who live in lesser conditions, and how blessed we truly are.

I'm going to take a hot shower now. As the Bible says, "Behold, he stinketh."
