Communist Regimes Support FARC

The Columbia military entered Ecuador and killed a high echelon leader of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Columbia (Hispanic anagram: FARC).

FARC is a Communist terrorist group whose political goal is to bring repressive Communism to Columbia; however its operations are drug trafficking, kidnapping for ransom, extortion and the general use of terrorist tactics to control the local people FARC has infiltrated and to strike fear in the people of Columbian controlled areas.

Ecuador has cajones in allowing FARC to hide within their national borders. If Columbia has the power to back up threats to their National Security, they have every right to chase terrorists across foreign borders. Ecuador should be condemned for harboring FARC. Indeed harboring FARC could be almost considered an act of war against Columbia.

Venezuela’s reaction was hostile to Columbia. Chavez the President of Venezuela has slowly eroded Democratic institutions since coming to power as an overt Communist striking up an anti-American friendship with Cuba.

Ecuador’s President Rafael Correa describes himself as Socialist and a Roman Catholic and a personal friend of Communist Hugo Chavez.

Thus when Columbia decided to take action against FARC on Ecuadorean soil, it is not surprising that both Venezuela and Ecuador mobilized there military to their borders with Columbia.

This mobilization of military elements in essence validates the Venezuelan and Ecuadorean governments’ support of drug dealing terrorists that operate under the umbrella of Communism.

If Venezuela and Ecuador actually do more than rattle their sabers at Columbia, America should support the Columbian government with a military strike that reminds Chavez and Correa that they can still be spanked even without an American invasion.

Pre-World Cup
I might try and go back to daily updates now.

If you live under a rock (or are American), you might not have realised that the World Cup does indeed start today, in Germany.

What I'm going to try and do is keep all of you who aren't so interested in the WC updated, as well as my own blogs into how my life etc is going.

I can't really write much now because I'm going to work in about an hour, but today is the first day of the World Cup ^_^ SQUEE! The opening match is Germany vs Costa Rica, which kicks off at 5pm GMT. If you live in the UK, BBC1 are showing this one. At 8pm GMT, there's the second game from that group (Group A), which is Poland vs Ecuador. ITV1 will be showing this one.

So, I'll let you know as to scores and scorers this evening, as well as a small preview of tomorrow's games (England, YAY!). But for now, it's time for me to go have a shower, and go to work. Not so yay :(

World Cup 2006 - Day 1
Well, the last match of the first day has not long finished, so I suppose I best write a quick blog about it. If you're happening to be playing AWFF's World Cup Predictions game (and if not, you're too late to join), you can use these blog entries to keep tabs on the countries and players you chose. I'm only going to give you the scores and scorers though, so that I don't bore you too much :P

So then, let's start with the opening game, which was Germany vs Costa Rica. The final score was:
Germany - 4 (Lahm, Klose x2 & Frings)
Costa Rica - 2 (Wanchope x2)

The second game was Poland vs Ecuador, which hasn't long finished. The final score for this game was:
Poland - 0
Ecuador - 2 (Tenorio & Delgado)

Thus, Group A's table at the end of the day looks like this:

1 - Germany
2 - Ecuador
----
3 - Costa Rica
4 - Poland

Now then, onto a quick preview of tomorrow's games, of which there are three.

At 2pm, England kick off their World Cup campaign against Paraguay. This game's being shown on BBC1. At 5pm, it's Trinidad & Tobago vs Sweden, and is being shown on ITV1. These games are both in Group B. And from Group C, at 8pm, it's Argentina vs Ivory Coast, which might be a rather interesting game. This one's also on ITV1.

And that's it really. I'll break up these daily WC blogs with personal blogs, so that I don't bore all of you :p I'll try and write one after the England game, though to be fair there's not an awful lot to write about, unless I start from Wednesday and work up to this evening :P

Still, until tomorrow..bye bye!

Back from Ecuador!
Well, I'm back from Ecuador and it was a blast.  It was a long long trip down and back but the kids did fine (portable DVD players make travel SO much easier :> ).  Highlights included:
 - Someone trying to break into our hotel room at 11:30pm! (that was in the US not Ecuador)
 - Galapagos turtles
 - Amazing varieties of hummingbirds high in the mountains
 - The people!

Some weird things to keep in mind if you ever make it down there:
 - The keep the toilet paper OUTSIDE the stalls, so you have to stock up before you go in
 - The two lane winding highways with a cliff on one side and a precipice on the other and a double yellow line in the middle are commonly treated as THREE lane highways (passing lane in the middle)
 - Traffic is insane, some wide highways don't even have lane markers at all
 - Air is thin

But despite the arduous driving and flying to get there, I highly recommend it as a fun destination!
