Easy @ MindSay
In general it seems that I take weekends off at a high clip as it pertains to blogging or posting or posting on my blog. 6 of one a half dozen of the other I guess. Maybe I should be a bit more active on this over the weekends. Time is at a premium here, and I relax whenever I get the chance, and most of the day on Sundays, I am nowhere near a computer, which I seem to enjoy more and more each coming day. I’m reading a book right now about reducing your independence on machinery, and I know that 99% of people out there are not willing to give the premise of the book the time of day, but the more I read, the more I agree with it.
Mindsay suggests "Israel independence day" as a tag, I hope that doesn't offend any militant Muslims out there. Maybe is the reference to Sunday. For the record, there is no depiction of Muhammed in cartoon form here, so all Muslim extremists, take it easy. You people need to lighten up.

Lesson I've learnt today:
Don't doubt yourself!
See, and I learnt this lesson all down to Guitar Hero.
Adam's been round today, and we played co-op mode.
I have to use the Wiimote, and I'm much more prone to bodging up with the Wiimote than I am with the guitar, natch.
So, I said I couldn't do Helicopter, by Bloc Party - and it's a really shitty song - but, I went for it.
Last time, we got 3 stars, this time, we got 4.
When we both have guitars, it'll be a 5, I assure you.
After he'd left, I started playing online.
I challenge myself, I set myself little forfeits too.
I'm trying to fill up all the song scores on Quickplay, as well as raise my rankings in the wi-fi stands on the community - www.guitarhero.com...
The link to my page is on the right. :)
So, I said to myself:
"If I lose this one, I do three songs. If I win this one, I do one song."
And I didn't lose any of them - so I was doing one song inbetween each match.
...So, here's where my lesson learnt today really came into play.
I was playing on Face-Off today - and on Face-Off, both players can choose different difficulties.
Now, if they were to pick Easy, I wouldn't pick Expert - for they'd abuse my weakness and pick Through The Fire And Flames.
I have had it happen, when I was on Hard against an Easy - twice.
So, if they chose Easy, I'd choose Medium.
They chose Medium, I'd either match, or choose Hard.
Hard, I would match.
Expert, I would match.
So anyway, I played through about 5 matches, all on Medium, and I was getting bored.
Then I was challenge by some gadge for a 3 song match, and they chose Expert.
So I chose Expert too.
I was worried a little, I haven't played another Expert over wi-fi for AGES.
And they only went and picked Suck My Kiss by Red Hot Chili Peppers - And I HATE that song.
Even so, I beat them by 5%.
So, feeling pleased, I did my one song on Quickplay - then returned to the online menu, and found another opponent.
This gadge was playing on Hard, and he wanted a 7-song match.
This sounded like fun, so I chose my character, and started picking my three songs.
It was by then that I noticed he was picking only level 8 and level 7 songs.
So he picked Raining Blood, Before I Forget and Knights Of Cydonia.
"Erghh... I'm not gonna win this one." I whimpered.
So I picked some level 5 songs.
Raining Blood started - and by about 30 seconds into the song, I realised there was an awful lot of mistake noises coming from the opposite fretboard.
I laughed, as I saw, for every 10 notes I hit, they were missing around 5 of them.
The final score was around 89% to me, and 53% to them.
FIFTY-THREE - that'd be a FAIL!
My song started - Holiday In Cambodia - my favourite setlist song - and I won by 15%!
Their song came next, Before I Forget - and they got 57%! Another FAIL!
Anything less than 78% on Career and Quickplay is a fail!
So I flew through the four songs, and won with a final score of 4-0.
He was so bad, we didn't even get to play our 3rd songs...
So there's your lesson for today.
Don't doubt your abilities.
Hi guys! Hope you all had a wonderfully blessed Thanksgiving. Mine was exceptional, and more than blesses as it was my birthday, and my family made me scrapbook with pics and a love letter from each of them, reminiscing on moments in the past that made me special to them, and how much they will miss me when I move to Utah. Talk about tears! I could hardly stand it, the tears were tearing me apart. And I looked it over again last night and the same thing happened all over again! It will kill me to leave them here, but I know it is for the best and that we will still be close, tho far apart in miles.
But the purpose of this blog it to give you a wonderul pie recipe that is a favorite in South Africa and which I have to make every holiday. I hope you try it and enjoy! It is not rich, just a custardy treat, delectible with a cup of your favorite beverage! Enjoy!
South African Milk Tart
Makes 2 pies
2 prepared graham cracker crusts
Filling:
4 cups milk
1 1/4 cup all purpose flour
1 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon almond extract
1 pinch salt
4 eggs, separated
1 tablespoon margarine
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1. Heat 3 cups milk to boiling point.
2. Mix remaining milk, flour, sugar, extracts, salt and egg yolks together and add to hot milk.
3. Cook until very thick and remove from stove.
4. Whisk egg whites to stiff peak stage while filling is cooling for five minutes. Fold into filling.
5. Stir in margarine and pour mixture into ready-made pie shells.
6. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
7. Refrigerate to cool and set.
A regular pie crust is used in South africa if you wish to use it. But I like the graham cracker ones as I am not big on making home made crusts!
May we continue to count our blessings every day of the year!
