Easter Day @ MindSay
5 day weekend
Who has ever heard of an Easter Tuesday??
Seriously.
But lucky me, I had Friday off, and Monday and Tuesday. Most boring weekend of my life. :(
And dad has gone away for three weeks to drill holes for dynamite in the mines,
More work for poor old Connie.
Not like I don't do enough anyway.
Like I am on here typing this when I could be doing the washing, or doing the dishes.
Ah well.
Happy Easter!

A Happy Birthday
Easter morning! Knuter would probably enjoy the math for this. If Easter is always the first Sunday after the first full moon after the Spring Equinox, and my birthdate remains the same for every year, just moving by one day of the week (except for leap years), how many times in my lifetime will Easter and my birthday be the same day?
My sisters play timpani and bassoon in the church orchestra for one of the Easter services. I work in the nursery, two-year-olds this week. Our coordinator's asked us to ask around with friends and family to see who else would be interested in helping, because far more munchkins are expected on Easter.
(My first thought on this was my sisters, but both of them profess to hate children. Fuhstified, on the other hand, absolutely loves kids, and when I called her she was elated and wanted to bring fuhstifier along. Cool.)
We had sixteen two-year-olds. Normally, we have a little over half that number. Lot of fun, just very noisy. Had an interesting element because of fuhstifier - he and my dear friend are engaged. I don't think he's done a whole lot with kids before, but he's definitely a helpful, engaging guy. So, what he lacks in experience he certainly makes up for in willingness, and really, as long as there are other people helping, the two-year-olds aren't that terrifying. It was great to see him and fuhstified working together.
They brought me flowers for my birthday! I don't know how graciously I accepted them, because I was a little harried at the time, but it was fun-harried. I love working in here.
After church, went over to have lunch with Knuter's family. Anytime I get to hang out with this family, it's a good thing. I can believe that maybe they're not always like this, but every time I've been with them, they're some of the kindest, happiest, and most giving people I've met. They always make me feel like I belong there, and the general feeling in the room is a good one.
Yum lunch. I fell asleep on a beanbag chair afterwards, MK was in the chair next to me. Adding to the good feeling of the family is that MK's baby is due in June, and she and her husband always have positive news for us about the baby. Knuter and his uncle were discussing roofing, I think he tried poking me a few times, but for the most part let me nap.
Went for a hike afterwards. Keep in mind I'd just come from church, and while I do normally wear jeans to church, I had dressed up a little for Easter. Hiking is not happening in these - however, we did find out that for the most part, I can wear Knuter's clothes. This amuses us. It is a little weird for both of us, though - him because he's seeing his stuff on somebody else (and that male-shape to female-shape has to be a little odd), me because all of his stuff smells like him, and he smells far, far too distractingly GOOD.
Knuter and BK are getting into Geo-caching, and BK made one for us to find. Dog generally went nuts in the woods, and Knuter and I kept finding sun-bleached snail-shells. We started just randomly picking a few up and giving them to each other, but he concluded that he might use a few for his own Geo-cache sometime.
Back to my family for Easter dinner. I got back, and figured that Knuter would be about a half-hour behind me, so I went down and cleaned up some of the 'trash' from the willow. Turned out I was wrong, because as soon as I got in my (very messy) room, I found that Knuter had dropped off my cds. Changed into something that smelled more like me (yay!), headed upstairs. Knuter and Dad are chatting about something-or-other, Mom's light jazz is playing, more good feelings. Except for the part where light jazz drives me crazy. :P
Kind of felt a little left-out because I didn't get to help with dinner (we have a small kitchen, it's tricky when you have even two people working in there), but talking with the family and Knuter while preparations were underwent was good. Yum Supper. My mom had gone by one of the more interesting bread bakeries in town, and brought back her harvest. Good bread, while not a key to happiness, is indeed one of the better pleasures in life.
After supper, Knuter and the munchkin headed off to do some work on her set. This makes me happy - I like the way he interacts with the other people in my life, particularly my family. That, and for him, getting to play with percussion stuff gets that 'hey, cool!' look on his face. This is also a good thing.
I fell asleep on the couch with my mommy. Well, I fell asleep, she was doing that thing I love with my hair that completely destroys it for the rest of the night. She was reminiscing about what I was like when I was little, we got a little silly, as we tend to do. It should perhaps be a clue to me when I need two naps in the day and it's still not enough. Knuter came down and started poking me, but I was aware of it the way you are when you're in shallower sleep. Tried to go down deeper, then he tickled my foot and I unconsciously kicked him in the thigh. Oops.
I got presents! And we had key lime pie. There were fifteen candles after my first blow, which made Knuter a little nervous. :P Mom took me shopping, Dad's replacing my skate wheels and bearings for me (happy dance), my sisters each got me a cd and munchkin got me a book I'd been wanting. Knuter gave me books! I am in new transports of joy - my boyfriend gave me a book! And they're good, too! We'd been wandering through B&N the other day, and he'd apparently taken note of some things I'd said that night. Tackle-hug Knuter!
Watched TV with my parents, which probably doesn't sound that cool, but I love family time together with Knuter. These are the people I love, and I don't see them nearly as much as I'd like.
Definitely a good birthday. :)

Happy Easter!
Well, it's finally here.
The Easter Bunny was very good to me... Now I can gorge myself for the next day or so.
Nevertheless, let us not forget the main purpose of Easter, but I'm sure it's been covered elsewhere.
Now I can finally satiate my horrible MySpace lust.
