Easter Weekend

Well, this weekend was a blur! Started on Friday with everybody out of work and school. So went all over NC(felt like it!) hunting a prom dress for Ariana.-Talk about stressful! LOL she is so tiny and dainty, she wears a size 0 and everywhere we went -hillsbourough,greensboro, burlington, etc... was sold out of 0's or had none! we got home about 5:00. Whew..started again on Saturday morning with a trip to Concord Mills. we were there for 3 and a half hours! Still no 0's but she narrowed it down to a size 1-2 navy blue or a xs green one. We bought the green one. Now we just have to get it hemmed and adjusted..... Stressful! LOL she bought shoes and earrings too. Just have to find bracelet and necklace now.  Goodness!

Sunday went to Easter service early. We were out by 10:15 and went to pick up grandma and then drove to Boone to have Easter lunch out with Morgan. It wasn't a bad day, just chilly after the 70's on Sat. and Fri. Morgan was starving. No classes on monday or tuesday, and he probably should have come home, but he didn't. We had a nice lunch at Golden Corral. Everybody napped when we got home. I fixed a ham for supper and Ariana had Amy over to eat with us. All in All I had a great day, especially since I got to see my son! Miss him! Just think in about 7 weeks he will be home for the summer and freshman year will be over..... Sigh... and Ariana's Jr year in Highschool.

Troubles
Of the four ensembles that perform during a concert, I'm only in four. This involves a quick costume change during intermission, and the necessity to skedaddle up from the greenroom to the stage right smartly as soon as I'm dressed.

The trouble is that one should not skedaddle anywhere in jazz shoes. Particularly on concrete steps. Particularly while carrying an alto sax.

Scuffed hand, knee - part of the job.

Rent in the right knee of dress pants - source of irritation (I very much like these pants, but more importantly, being in the show choir, our pants are supposed to MATCH. It may be a little difficult to track down the same brand and cut at this point in the season)

Emotional impact of landing on sax - apparently this is one area that my usual delayed-emotional-reaction does not cover. This is not to be confused with the damage to the sax itself - this sax is not my student horn, it was a special gift that I wouldn't be able to afford for a few years out of college. I make a point of taking most excellent care of it.

Sax injury (one of the more common notes is a half-pitch lower than it's supposed to be) - Ridiculously upset.

This season is beginning to look as though someone is systematically attacking everything that I hold dear. Perhaps the purpose is to show me that I don't actually need those things - sister, car, college, sax, friend - but the bafflement of this is...I already knew that!

In addition to the more tangible items in my life, there also seems to be a resurgence of some weird emotional imbalance...but it shows up far more in the evening than during the day, which leads to suggesting that maybe it's me not getting enough sleep. Which is baffling, because it's only in the last month or so that I'd decided to make a project of getting more sleep.

I was talking to a friend, trying to figure out what's going on. He asked me if I had a wingman (he does - girls usually seem to have multiple friends in whom to confide), and I'm aware that I do - I just have a hard time putting into text what I'm feeling, and that's our only method of conversation at present.

I was feeling tremendously low and apathetic that night - this was actually the night before the concert. I realized that I didn't honestly care if I lived or died that night, but I refused to let go of God. That's really all I could think of - take whatever you want, you can't break this bond, and nothing else matters to me. I wasn't suicidal, per se - I wasn't going to take action against myself, but I didn't really care if anything happened.

A scary thought; I realized later that what I'd been talking about with Wil was as close as I can come to suicide, but a suicide of character. Just letting go of everything, letting go of this pursuit to be a better person, dropping college and goals, releasing my ideals. As soon as I said, "just...get laid and get it over with," Wil was visibly concerned - he knows full well that I pray for my future family, and protect my virginity to protect them.

What's going on?

Must admit I had 3 prom dresses!:D  Our area schools do Jr/Sr proms and I went sophmore year on top of my jr and sr years cause I was dating a sr from another school!  And I must admit even if I got cheap on the dresses I was the knock out at the prom cause I had my own style!  Sophmore year, I borrowed one of my sister's bride's maid dresses (still somewhat of 80s style long then) and took it to a seemstress and had it brought up to show my calves off, had the bow taken off and the sleeves cut off and the bodice lowered!  Bright Royal blue with matching dyed open toed blue sandles at a school whose colors were red and black and so was their prom theme!  Jr year my mom's handed me and the dad the credit card and I knew exactly what I wanted a black mini cocktail dress!  We found it at Maurcie's!  Midthigh with off the shoulder white lace trim and my dad's picked me out white lace mid arm crocheted gloves and white fishnet stockings and garter belt to match the trim with black and white close toed pumps:D  Since our class put the theme on we choice black and white with a Boyz II Men song!:D  Everyone else had midlength dresses!   I went with the girls that night!:D  Sr year, again mom's handed dad and I the credit card and we found a kick ass fire engine red mid thigh mini halter dress!  Open backed down to the small of my back, flared skirt, deep plunging bodice.  Again my dad's found some sheer fire engine red stockings and garter belt and open toed fire engine red 6 inch heels to match.  And Granny (the old cronie that i loved to bag on and passed last year) dug into her closet and found me my Great Granny's mid forarm white gloves that she promptly had dyed to match my dress!  I took an ex boyfriend of mine who was a freshman and right after prom the majority of us girls ditched our dates and boared a plane for DC to go to Close Up for a week.  Nothing like seeing a bunch of glammed out girls and guys walking into Omaha International Airport at 1am in the morning in our prom gear!  And nothing like all of us stepping off the plane at the DC airport and getting bussed to WVA to the hotels!

See girls it pays to have daddy take you shopping!  They can find some kick ass dresses and know how to flaunt what you have with out looking slutty!
