Trench
This type of bunker is a small concrete structure, partly dug into the ground, which is usually a part of a trench system. Such bunkers give the defending soldiers better protection than the open trench and also include top protection against aerial attack (grenades, mortar shells). They also provide shelter against the weather.
The front bunker of a trench system usually includes machine guns or mortars and forms a dominant shooting post. The rear bunkers are usually used as command posts or Tactical Operations Center (TOC), for storage and as field hospitals to attend to wounded soldiers.
Pillbox
Dug-in guard posts (with loopholes through which to fire weapons) made from concrete are also known as "pillboxes". The originally jocular name arose from their perceived similarity to the cylindrical boxes in which medical pills were once sold. They are in effect a trench firing step hardened to protect against small-arms fire and grenades and raised to improve the field of fire.

Their use seems to have developed during the period of the First World War when defence in depth using the Machine Gun Corps was being perfected. However, most of those seen in Britain, having been left over from the 1940 invasion scare, are designed for use by riflemen rather than for machine gunners. The concrete nature of pillboxes means that they are a feature of prepared positions and their original use is likely to have been in the Hindenburg Line. This is likely to have been the time when they acquired their incongruous English name. The Oxford English Dictionary's earliest record of the use of the word pillbox in connection with a defensive post is from 13 September 1917, after the German withdrawal onto the Hindenburg Line.
Pillboxes are often camouflaged in order to conceal their location and to maximize the element of surprise. They may be part of a trench system, form an interlocking line of defence with other pillboxes by providing covering fire to each other (defence in depth), or they may be placed to guard strategic structures such as bridges and jetties.
Many pillboxes were built before WWII in the Czech Republic in defence against the German invasion of Czechoslovakia. None of these were actually used in the end, since the German military met no resistance when invading the country because it was effectively forced to capitulate as a result of Allies annexing the country's border areas and handing them to Germany. The Japanese also made use of pillboxes in their fortifications of Iwo Jima.
Artillery
Many artillery installations, especially for naval artillery have historically been protected by extensive bunker systems. These usually housed the crews serving the weapons, protected the ammunition against counter-battery fire, and in numerous examples also protected the guns themselves, though this was usually a trade-off reducing their fields of fire.
Since artillery bunkers were often constructed for very large guns in a pre-defined location and as part of a larger system of defenses (such as for a port town or a seacoast), they are amongst the largest individual pre-Cold War bunker types found. The walls of installations like the 'Batterie Todt' in northern France were up to 3.5 m thick, with the gun inside capable of reaching over the English Channel to the opposite coast.

History
Secured boxes have existed for centuries, but it wasn't until the late 18th century that use of cast iron became widespread and was used to create solid metal boxes. During the 19th century, safe-cracking techniques (known as box jobs[citation needed]) became widely used in bank robberies. In the 20th century, improvements in steel production and a decreasing reliance on physical currency led to a decrease in the popularity of safe cracking.
Physical methods
Different procedures may be used to crack a safe, depending on its construction. Different procedures are required to open different safes so safe-crackers need to be aware of the differences.
Lock manipulation
The most surreptitious way of cracking a safe is to manipulate the lock in order to obtain the combination required to open the safe without actually damaging the safe.
Some rotary combination locks can be manipulated by feel or sound in order to determine the combination required to open the safe. More sophisticated locks use wheels made from lightweight and soft materials such as nylon, which reduces this vulnerability. Another anti-manipulation mechanism is serrated wheels (false tumbler notches) that make tactile techniques much more difficult. Another defense is a clutch-type driver wheel that prevents contact of the fence to the tumblers except in one position. These locks can be identified by a "click-click" feeling in the dial or by a dial that is pushed in and turned. Manipulation is the locksmith's preferred choice in lost-combination lockouts, since it requires no repairs or damage, but can be extremely time consuming due to lock improvements over the years, and is also a difficult art to master. Some combination padlocks can also be manipulated by pulling and applying leverage on the shackle while turning each dial to determine the combination required to unlock them.
In the absence of any other information regarding the safe's combination, a combination lock may be opened by dialing every possible combination. Richard Feynman discovered that many combination locks allow some "slop" in the settings of the dial, so that for a given safe it may be necessary only to try a subset of the combinations. This drastically reduces the time required to exhaust the number of meaningful combinations. A further reduction in solving time is obtained by trying all possible settings for the last wheel for a given setting of the first wheels before nudging the next-to-last wheel to its next meaningful setting, instead of zeroing the lock each time with a number of turns in one direction.
Guessing the combination
A safe may be compromised surprisingly often by simply guessing the combination. This results from the fact that manufactured safes often come with a manufacturer-set combination. This combination (known as a try-out combination) is designed to allow the owner initial access to the safe so that they may set their own new combination. Sources exist which list manufacturers try-out combinations.
Combinations are also unwittingly compromised by the owner of the safe by having the lock set to easy-to-guess combinations such as a birthdate or driver's license number.
Autodialers
A number of companies and groups have developed autodialing machines to open safes. Unlike fictional machines that can open a combination in seconds, such machines are usually specific to a particular type of lock and must cycle through thousands of combinations to open a device. A good example of such a device is a project completed by two students from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology - Kyle Vogt and Grant Jordan. Their machine, built to open a Sargent and Greenleaf 8400 lock on a Diebold Safe, found an unknown combination in 21,000 tries. Lockmasters, Inc. markets two autodialing machines that work on a variety of 3 digit combination safe locks.
There also exists a device called soft drill, that is like an autodialer except it listens to the lock and with the aid of a computer...(and so on) To get More information , you can visit some products about doors lock, door bar lock, computer security lock, computer keyboard key, door sliding locks, . Again, not much new going on in my life at the moment.
I bought a new front door for my house, replaced the old wood door with a modern steel door, looks nice. Matches the window I replaced about a month ago or so in the front.
My flowers got frost damage too, well tis' the season here, they are perennials so they will be back next year, and hopefully the tulips well grow next year too, that I planted but not even one came up this year.
My grass still looks good though, lol.
Yes, I lead a riveting life. :P
Work is going good now, some people where getting on my case last week and I tried being respectful and assertive, telling them to back off but it did not work, so very unlike me I blew up, threw some stuff around, stomped out for the rest of the day. I know, very juvenal but it worked, when I returned the next day everyone apologized so its all cool now.
What else....
Did not pick up the parts yet for the motorbike I bought, just things have been pretty hectic and it is getting too cool to ride anyway, but I have already paid for the parts, I should go get them. lol
Oh I bought a used oak entertainment center, the person claimed it cost them $600 but I got it for much less, it was a little beat up so I bought some stain and touched it up already, I will see how it looks when I get home from work this evening, may need another coat.
Well, guess that is it for now. :)
It is official the fall of the great nation of England is slowly floating down the Thames River. I recently read that the most senior judge in England (lord Chief Justice Lord Phillips) has declared that Islamic law can be used in Muslim communities in the UK to settle martial arguments and regulate finance. The knife slowly goes in!
The use of Islamic principles is just the start of the downfall of one of the great nations. Ever heard give them an inch? So if you are female Muslim in Britian - you cannot marry without your parents approval - forget that nice English chap you had your eyes on! What if you are married and would like to divorce - sorry with Islamic law in the great land of England now you will be prohibited from divorce. But if you are a bearded Muslim you can divorce that tramp without having to worry abour supporting her or your children. Ah the great laws will all will be living under soon - wake up people!
The Islamic laws are working thier way in the back door of English law - they are looking for domination not assimilation.
To all the Great Brits - you better get ready for a fight of your life. Stand strong and don't let them bastards take over one of the greatest countries in the world! My "Christian" prayers are with you!
So, I was going about my day. I had finally stopped procrastanting (sp?) and got off of chat, neopets, mindsay, and a few other sites and got busy.
I finally finished dejunking my room. And while cleaning out my closet, I found one bat, one 12 inch softball and one 11 inch softball, my first catching pud, my last pair of highschool softball cleats, six batting gloves, one lefty mitt, and an equipment bag. With a suprise!:O I always wondered where that dayum box of condoms in my senior year had gone too! Now I know! At the bottom of my softball equipment bag!:D Looks like my mom only took the main equipment bag of my softball gear and handed over to my diabetic counselor. I put all the gear in the bag and it is sitting next to the mudporch door so I can hand it over to my mom's to give to my diabetic counselor. Once I meet my goals, THEN I can have all my gear back!
I changed my bed sheets (the bi weekly changing!:D), rounded up Randy's and my dirty laundry, put away clothes and had just gone down stairs to start a load of laundry when I got the phone call from the school!
Secratary: "Jackie? Can you come up to the school? DeLaney smashed her fingers into the class room door somehow!"
Me: "Dayum! Is she bleeding? Can she bend her fingers at all?"
Secratary: "No blood, but lots of swelling and discoloration. Hold on let me see if she can bend her fingers. It is on the first knuckles that got it. She can bend all her first knuckles with out pain but her left ring finger."
Me: "Dayumit all to hell! Okay, let me get dressed, call the doc's office to see what they want to do and I will be up."
I got dressed (it was cleaning/lounge day so I took the kids in my jam jams and was still in them!), put a call into the doc's office, called my mom and asked if she could look at the finger before I decieded to drive to the city with DeLaney. And got on the road.
Luckly by the time I got there, (they were icing the finger down) the swealing had gone way down and according to the Mission Secratary not the school Secratary, the discoloration had gone from angry deep purple down to a angry pink color. She still couldn't bend that left ring finger though and she had a good size dent in the finger with a bit of dried blood but nothing major. I signed her out of school and we headed down to the Tribal Clinic so Granny could take a look at her finger for me.
I didn't think it was broke but I wasn't taking any chances. My mom agreed with me that she didn't think it was broke but suggested I take her up to the doctor anyway. I again called the doctors office to let them know we were coming up, stopped back at the school and signed Coltin out. (Randy is on the road, my mom didn't get off of work till 6 this evening, and yay not really an emerency so my dad wasn't going to go pick my boy up for me!)
We were right. It isn't broke just badly brused. Doctor didn't even order xrays but we are going to buddy wrap the left ring finger to her tall man finger for a week. If her nail turns black or if she complains that she can't move it at all, then we are to take her back up to get the nail taken off and then get some xrays. The doc did clean out the dent and put a small gauze wrap around that and suggested we keep that on for about 3 or 4 days so it doesn't get infected.
What a day.
I treated the kids to what Randy calls "Dog Food" aka McDonald's for an early supper. When we got home, I dosed DeLaney up with some Motrin and made her ice down her fingers again. Then we went about our afternoon/evening chores.
I did manage to get a few more loads of laundry done, fiddled with my sewing machine (it is acting up) and managed to get one panel of a set of bottom curtains done for my kitchen.
I am keeping my fingers crossed that we have no more incidents of injuries at school this year. DeLaney is really worried about testing now for our next taekwondo rank. We have a couple of finger tip punchies that we have in our form and have to demenstrate on the bags. I told her not to worry if her fingers are still hurting when it comes time for testing we will let Mr. Johnson know that she can't punch with her left hand and he would understand. He is allowing mommy to forgo the jump kicks and take steps instead so I dont' injure my knee.
She seemed okay with that.
Now I am off to procrstanate some more.
