I had the best shopping day EVER yesterday. First, I had to work at my church from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. because we were having a Fall Festival / Bizarre. I do daycare for the church and the person who planned the festival thought people may want to leave their small infants with us. However, we didn't get a single child! So, by 11:00 I was anxious to see what the vendors were selling. A friend of mine sells sterling silver jewelry and she was selling it very cheap because she was going out of business. I bought 12 pieces of jewelry for $32.00! If I hadn't have been in a church I would have probably had an orgasm! I absolutely LOVE jewelry! For Christmas I asked my husband to get me one of those jewelry cabinets that are about the size of a small curio. I definitely need it.
Later, my bestest bud Environgirl took me shopping at Torrid. They were having a 50% off sale and since she works there, she got an additional 40% off! I got three shirts, a cute pair of jeans, a sassy little skirt and a pair of big silver hoop earrings. She paid for them and took me to dinner. I didn't want to go anywhere expensive because she had just bought me clothes so I chose Chilli's. We talked about everything under the sun and laughed at stupid inside jokes. We reminisced about high school and my wild and crazy life when I was single. She almost lost it when I told her about my fling with a narcoleptic dentist! After dinner, we went back to her place and gabbed some more. It was great. I loved having having a girl's day out. I think it was even more fun because neither one of us had a drop of alcohol. I know that sounds square, but hey Huey Lewis said it was "Hip to Be Square." :D
