Let The Sunshine In Again

I just saw here on a blog a video with the soundtrack of Let The Sunshine In from HAIRI began to weep from a sense of hope. However, the following blog is a result of my contemplation over and about the current sorry State of the Union of AUSPONA. This effort following began as a reply to blog posting just mentioned.

I weep.

Just up from my bed at 0830 in Qingdao on the coast of China. Sometimes, and then sometimes often, I wake in a state of depression as I did this day.

With a return being imminent from my self-imposed exile from AUSPONA [A United States part of North America] I am moved to silent tears over what my country has become. I am weeping over what my once great country has degenerated into because of fudking [Fascist Unpatriotic Despotic Kind-less Ignorant Neoconservative Ghoulish] religious, retrograde Republican and other leaders like them and their followers have wrought.

I am nauseated and my stomach aches with a possible ulcer developing over thoughts of returning to such a cesspool of ignorance and intolerance.

Still, return I will! I will return to work on the presidential campaign for The Brave Barack Obama. I have no illusion that a President Barack Obama will be a leader in a politically progressive movement. I do not have such an Illusion. He and others of the Democrat and supposed "liberal" persuasion will have to be pushed to the front of the movement, to the front of a, I hope, clamorous parade toward enlightened progressivism and out of the shadows of fraud and deceit and away from Dick Cheney's  and Karl Rove's "dark side" of evil, sinister politics.

After Obama is inaugurated my mission, my work and my INTENT to see the land of the free and the home of the brave a place where one's pursuit of happiness will not be considered a crime or immoral due to the power and dictates of fudkers [Foppish Uneducated Demented Knee-jerk Egregious Religious Sons-of bitches] will continue. Such, my work in earnest must and will continue! I won't back off or back down.

I will not cease in my INTENT and earnest work toward the time to come when there is a comprehensive  enabling, freeing and unrestricted PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS AMENDENT added to The Constitution of AUSPONA.

Yes, the video, Let The Sunshine In brought on hope in me and therefore weeping from me. Thank you for the posting left for me and others to find and see.

Sincerely in pursuit of happiness and freedom from fascist tyranny in AUSPONA,

Mr. David Tecumseh Schmidt, MSW '82 University of Michigan Tecumseh High School '59

Two Towns in Vermont Vote to Arrest Bush and Cheney
askjesse reports via Reuters:

"The nonbinding, symbolic measure, passed in Brattleboro and Marlboro in a state known for taking liberal positions on national issues, instructs town police to "extradite them to other authorities that may reasonably contend to prosecute them."

Vermont, home to maple syrup and picture-postcard views, is known for its liberal politics.

State lawmakers have passed nonbinding resolutions to end the war in Iraq and impeach Bush and Cheney, and several towns have also passed resolutions of impeachment. None of them have caught on in Washington."

Maybe it's time for Vermont to secede from the US?  Earlier this week, we learned the state is also considering lowering the drinking age to 18.

(no subject)

Wow, Obama's speech tonite gave me the goosebumps.  he's got one more believer.  I never really thought of him as ...um attractive in that sense...... but yeah just goes to show you how personality can win someone over.

his hope, his enthusiasm... it's catchy.   I don't think i've seen a candidate for president like this before in my lifetime, that I could honestly say I feel i can trust.
btw, why is Dick Cheney easily the butt of all jokes? hehe.  Obama mentioned Bush and Dick Cheney "his cousin" at one point.... made me chortle.  lol.

Cheney hunting trip under fire for Confederate flag

UNION VALE, New York (AP) -- Vice President Dick Cheney spent about eight hours hunting Monday at a secluded Hudson Valley gun club where well-heeled enthusiasts shoot ducks and pheasants.

It was Cheney's second visit to Clove Valley Rod & Gun Club in Dutchess County, about 70 miles north of New York City. The previous trip was in fall 2001.

Although a heavy police presence kept the media and curious local residents at a distance, Cheney's visit did stir up a bit of controversy when a New York Daily News photographer snapped a picture of a small Confederate flag hanging inside a garage on the hunt club property.

The photo was shown to New York City civil rights activist the Rev. Al Sharpton, who issued a statement demanding that the vice president "leave immediately, denounce the club and apologize for going to a club that represents lynching, hate and murder to black people."

Sharpton's statement was issued hours after Cheney departed the club at 3:45 p.m. for a flight out of the Stewart Air National Guard Base. In a statement issued Monday evening, Cheney spokeswoman Megan Mitchell said neither Cheney nor anyone on his staff saw such a flag at the hunt club.

It's not clear whether the door of the garage that contained the flag was even open at the time the vice president was in the area.

The flag flap was minor compared with the controversy that arose in 2006 after Cheney peppered attorney Harry Whittington with birdshot while quail hunting in Texas. The vice president was criticized for not immediately going public with the incident

* * * * *

Someone should really just tell Al Sharpton to shut the fuck up.
