The Departed. 7/10. The first movie that Leonardo DiCaprio actually tries to ACT in. Hallelujah. Actually the beginning of the movie was okay, but it had me worried. I guess I was focused on Martin Scorcese and whether this movie would get him an Oscar. And my answer was NO. And that scared me. I still don't know if he'll get the Oscar, but the movie was awesome. I don't want to give anything away, but the movie definitely wasn't for everyone and didn't leave me 100% satisfied. However, it was really well done and I am still in a tremendous state of awe right now.
Grauman's Chinese Theater. Obviously, I had been outside this sexy place before, but I had never been
inside. It is so beautiful inside, I never could have imagined anything so gorgeous. This is definitely my movie theater from now on. However, there was a time when I kept checking the listings and planned to go if anything good was playing, but nothing ever was. I love this theater. It's awesome & amazing.
My only complaint was that they didn't have drinking fountains, so I thought
dang I'm going to have to buy a drink. Then, they only had Pepsi, and I wasn't about to spend $3.50 on Sierra Mist, so I got an ICEE. I was so excited, but the ICEEs had no flavor, so amazingly they gave me my money back. Those were $4.25, tax not even included. Hey, I wasn't a bitch about it, and they are the ones that offered and everything. I think it was the machine that was messed up, because the other machine had more color in their ICEEs, but whatever. The seats were comfortable and the matinee was cheap ($9-get out of town-I'm joking about the cheap part).
My haircut or Chinese food. So on the way back, I cut a few inches off my hair and got Chinese food. This is so weird.
Two men tried to pick me up on the way home, and they were both in cars. I would have gotten in the car with one of them if 1) one of them wasn't going in the opposite direction (and he looked like the
departed Chris Penn) and 2) I was so close to my house anyway that I wasn't about to risk my life to get into a car with some stranger. So I'm convinced that it was either a) my haircut or b) my bag of Chinese food --- maybe the guys thought it was drugs or something, because I have no idea why two men would try picking me up. No one sure tried to pick me up on the way over.
Weather. The forecast called for rain, so I wore long sleeves and brought an umbrella. It sucked. I'm glad it didn't rain, but it got so warm, I had to unbutton an extra button on my blouse. Oh wait, maybe that's why guys tried picking me up ;) . But no, it really wasn't showing my chest. Now I am sitting here in a provocative shirt that is showing my midriff, but guess what? No one's there to see it, so :P
Addendum: Oh yes, I finally registered to vote after moving back in June. The deadline for California is October 23rd, peeps.
