Don't fail me!!!!!
YES YES YES. According to UPS' tracking service and some funky Swedish shipping website, I'm supposed to get my Cheap Monday jeans today!! Yessss... just in time for the concert tomorrow! I'm so excited. Please please please fit. Pleeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaasee. I don't want to send them all the way back to Sweden for a return/exchange. *sobs* Shipping is too expensive. I think it already cost me $30 just to get them over here. Hell no, I'm not sending them back! Ugh.... online shopping. It's hard work. xD

This is the pair I bought. I'm not too fond of the "original" Cheap Monday logo thing they have on the back of the jeans (and no, not because of the anti-Christ reasons; it's just plain ugly), so I got these instead. So much cooler! I only wish they were pure black instead of used black. But oh well, I can't ask for too much! I'll just have to buy another pair or something. These will do for now.

Anyway, the sizing is a bit tricky because 1. All brands have different sizes/fits. 2. I only have a faint idea of what the material is like. 3. They're tapered/skinny jeans. But most of all... the most difficult... 4. They're UNISEX jeans!!!!! I've completely scoured the internet of Cheap Monday fitting tips, but they're all from guys. Yes, guys can be ultra skinny too, but our bodies are significantly different, so I can't trust them completely when they say, "Size up!" or "Size down!" *sigh*

Pleeeeaaase fit. *crosses fingers*
*prays to the denim gods*

Denim lovers everywhere, Unite!

Today I did something that most women dread. I went shopping for a new pair of jeans.

If you are of the female persuasion, you will understand what I mean when I say I would rather have a tooth pulled. Or at least have awful sex with a really ugly guy.

If you are not Christy Brinkley, you know that shopping for jeand is an absolute nightmare. It is almost as horrible as bathing suit shopping. First off, jeans are usually designed with 6' tall, 100lb female bodies in mind. I can't speak for everyone, but these are definitely not my proportions.

So in order to accomodate the size of your waist, you have to ignore the length of your legs and just accept the fact that any jeans you buy that are big enough to fit around you waist (that includes buttoning them)  will just have to be hemmed to the appropriate length upon arrival at home.

Now, taking into consideration that most women don't wear jeans around their waist, but around their hips (thank you so much for that trend Britney) it is necessary to go even larger in the waist area, because as most people, none of which are fashion designers, know that hips are generally a few inches larger than the waist. Which means you have to go up in size even more, and this also means that the length of the leg will usually get longer.

Personally, I can't sew. What I tend to do is just wear said jeans exactly the way they are with high heels, and eventually I will step on the bottoms of the legs so much that they will rip, allowing for easier walking. Every single pair of jeans I own has the telltale rip by the feet. (and I know I'm not alone in this one, admit it)

The problem with this is I don't want to spend an obscene amount of money on a lovely pair of jeans when they are just going to end up destroyed in a month. Not to mention wearing ripped jeans makes me look even younger than I do already, as well as really sloppy.

But as for today, I found a wonderful pair of jeans that fit around my hips, and were the perfect length. Which is odd because I'm only 5'2". And that might be a little generous.

To top it all of, they cost 20$ plus tax, and I will never ever rip the bottoms.
